Thank you for purchasing the TU7000 TV and for your review. I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with the brightness levels of your picture. If the colors on your TV are correct but just a little too dark or bright you can try the different Picture Modes or manually adjust the Brightness settings to your liking.
Dynamic Picture Mode will make pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to: Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic
Or manually adjust the Brightness and other settings to your liking. Press the HOME button on your remote, then navigate to: Settings > Picture > Expert Settings
You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption. Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode.
Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV, according to the ambient light level, to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness. Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Ambient Light Detection

Beware, deceptive marketing

Although this TV is marketed as having Google Assistant support, it is less capable in this regard than an original Chromecast.
The only commands it accepts are ones to turn off the TV, change the channel, change inputs, and change the volume, or basic play controls (play, pause, rewind, fast-forward and stop). The control set is listed here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00078932/ .
You cannot for example say play "movie name" on Netflix on "Samsung TV name" and have it play as it would on a cheap Chromecast device. You can't do this with any similar command for Youtube or Spotify.
I spent an hour and a half with Samsung chat support just to find this out.
There are other TVs in this price range that will natively do these things with Fire TV support or other smart capabilities. This TV can't do proper voice commands even with the aid of a smart phone/tablet or Google Home device.

I just purchased 2 days ago. Worked fine for about 15 min. I turned it off and when I turned it back on about an hour later, the picture was badly distorted. I called customer service and finally, after I looked it up on this site, I told the rep that maybe I should update the firmware, I did that and it worked fine for a day. Today I turned it on and the picture was distorted again. Tried turning it off and on and finally on the 4th try it came back looking ok. No way should a new tv have issues like this! I’m not really sure what to do now.

Great tv if you love reconnecting the internet when trying to use it every time. Would not recommend. Best Buy wouldn’t help replace once I got 5 days past my return date. Samsung customer service is also no help.

1) Check the distance between the TV and your modem or access point. The distance should not exceed 50 ft. (15.2 m).
2) Minimize interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verify that there are no obstacles between the TV and the modem or access point. (Wi-Fi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone walls/fireplaces, etc.)
3) Perform a network test to check if there is a network problem. Press the Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis> Smart Hub Connection Test
4) Try a cold reboot of your TV by pressing and holding the power button for 5+ seconds until the TV turns off and on again.
5) Please also be sure you have the latest firmware update. You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

Not good/ Useless return

I received this tv as a gift on 06/09/2020. The user experience was rough and often took a while to respond. Around 03/24/2021 a pixel went out and created a line across the bottom. 2 weeks later another pixel went out creating a line through the middle. Geek squad came out and could not fix it. Went into store to exchange with the same tv and there was little help involved. If you feel like spending more money and getting a poor experience, this is the tv for you. Would not recommend to anyone since there are better tv's out there that wont have a dead pixel within one year.

Screen burn after only 4 months

I got this TV at the end of September 2020. I've had it less than 5 months and it already has some sort of shadow in the upper middle of the TV that looks like screen burn. There is absolutely no way there could or should be screen burn after this little time. I had my old Samsung for probably 8 years before that started being a problem and it always corrected itself within a few mins using the pixel corrector that was preloaded on the TV. It's so frustrating as I'm a huge fan of Samsung and their products. I'm looking to replace the television for the living room and I really don't think I'll go with Samsung this time around. There's nothing to be done because I'm out of the return window for this TV.

TV Volume is bad

I was extremely excited to get this new tv and actually spent more to get the samsung high quality but I have been let down. The volume is absolutely terrible it doesn't matter if you are at 25 or 55 when people talk it sounds the exact same. When loud action scenes happen it blows you out of the room but you cant hear any dialog really. I am thinking of returning it since I really don't want to invest another $100 in a sound bar to make my top of the line TV work better! The positive I will say is the Samsung TV feature being in a comcast area they don't have the acc network and this TV has it for free built into the TV.

7 Series Lemon?

Purchased 43” Samsung 7 series on 3-16-‘20. It has been less than a year and a half. Suddenly the screen went blank with intermittent sound and won’t turn off (remote does not work). Unplugging and holding down the remote on/off does not reset. I only use over-the-air channels, not the Smart Tv. Only myself, no children abusing it. Looks brand new but spontaneously fried. Afraid to buy another Samsung now. I have 2 older Samsung’s that are working well. This one also had crackly sound too.

The TV broke within 2 months. It will only turn off/on/off/on repeatedly when it is plugged in. It won't even stay on long enough to try an update. Samsung support is awful. They use a company called eefix in western New York that never returns phone calls and canceled my appointment twice. I put in a request for a return or repacement and Samsung was supposed to call me back within 5 days for details. They never did. I ended up just buying a different TV - NOT SAMSUNG! I guess I'll just end up recycling this thing.

The HMI cord doesn’t fit into the TV.. so you can stream the apps but if you plug in you cable box it all snowy and there are sound issues. I would not recommend this TV. Disappointed

Mind of its own

th e picture is ok. Sound below average . But r eason for my low . Samsung seems to have a mind of its own. It turn s off in four hours. We are senior citizens, stuck at home, and do a lot of TV viewing. The 144 p age instruction manual is too long to download. I do not wish to have any other use except Direct TV and use of my DVD player. How does Netflix get its own button on the remote? At least allow me to cancel easely if my old fingers accidently touch it. I would guess, that the new generation TV's are getting so cheap, streaming is trying to make up for the fact that competition.

See if Sleep Timer has been enabled. The Sleep Timer automatically turns the TV off after a specific period of time. Go to: Settings > General > System Manager > Time > Sleep Timer If the Sleep Timer has not been enabled, see if Auto Power Off or Off Timer has been enabled and disable it. - Settings > General > Eco Solution > Auto Power Off - Settings > General > System Manager > Time > Off Timer

Great TV I have the 55" and the 43" but the 43" has a clicking sound that drives me nuts...Samsung response is this..."On some TV's or monitors, you may hear a popping sound, which could be due to temperature changes. A buzzing, crackling, or humming noise could be caused by electrical feedback. TVs use a combination of metal and plastic material subject to expansion and contraction due to temperature changes causing creaking, popping, or cracking sound". Hoping to return/exchange through Best Buy

Abnormal sounds will have different causes depending on where the sound originates from. Is the sound coming from your speakers, or is your TV connected to an external audio device like a soundbar? If so, please make sure that the audio cable is connected to the correct audio output connector on the external device.
For antenna or cable connections, check the Signal Information. A low signal level may cause sound distortions. Go to: Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information
If the sound is coming from the back of the TV, the expansion and contraction of the TV's outer casing may cause a popping noise. This does not indicate a product malfunction. The TV is safe to use.
You may also want to run a Sound Test by going to : Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Sound Test

Horrible. We received the box and stored it as we were going to move a few weeks later. When we opened it the screen was completely cracked and unusable. There was no damage to the box so it did not appear to be a shipping issue. We were told we could not return or exchange it after 14 days. So we paid for a new TV to go in the trash. I will not buy a TV from Best Buy again.

Could not stay connected to wifi

I have been a fan of Samsung, but this TV model could never stay connected to my wifi. I have all other devices working just fine with my wifi, but everytime I came back to turn on this TV, I would have to reconnect to my network. JUNK! Returned the first one because none of the Smart features worked. Very very glitchy! Push a button and 30 seconds later it reacts. Have to constantly restart movies from Hulu, Netflix, etc... Second one, SAME THING!!! Samsung is apparently just like all the other low budget TV’s now. Switched to Sony and the difference is night and day!! Spend the extra $$

Quit working less than 2 years. New power supply didn’t fix it. Power cycles on and off. Going in the trash!!! Purchased March 2020
