Good TV but needs adjustment

This is a great TV, but you wouldn't know it when you see it right out of the box. The video was very exaggerated compared to what I see on my professional monitors for video editing.
Samsung often goes for a overly showy look. When you first get this TV, it will look very contrasty and will make all programs look as if they are news footage. Not great if you like the look of film well shot film.
To get the most of this set, go to the expert picture mode and turn off:
Contrast enhancement and automatic noise reduction. Then find some contrast test patterns on YouTube so you can adjust the contrast near full black.
Once you've done this, you'll have great video on 4K Netflix and Amazon Prime videos.
Video producers often go for the "film look", but the automatic features in Samsung sets defeat this. While impressive at first glance, this set doesn't have a great look. The basic Samsung look is overly contrasty with chiseled contrast. But the good news is that the automatic features can be defeated quite easily. It takes a couple hours of tweaking, but the results are worth it.
A good value, once you've put in the work of making the picture right.

Bought in 2019, now it’s 4 years old, needs to be replaced already. Multiple times a month have to do a hard reset. It constantly freezes or it goes to Samsung plus channels without me clicking the button for that.

Samsung good price but cheap quality

Cheaply made; on screen menu with limited options and not user friendly. TV has lasted only 3.5 years, heard a loud pop and now it’s dead. I don’t think I will buy another Samsung product because my frige’s finish (same brand) is stating to peal off, even though it’s stainless steel.

This television cannot display blacks properly and is only visible in a dimly lit room. It's definitely worth paying extra to upgrade to one of the edge lit models at the bare minimum if not oled--even if it means you ha w to go with a smaller screen size.

Update and allow us to delete factory apps!

Knocking off 2 stars for 2 reasons. I own a 2-year-old 8 series and the new models have 2 terrible "upgrades".
1. The remote. My older remote was modern and sleek with no number buttons or any unnecessary buttons. The new one is another 200 button remote that is frustrating to use.
2. Can't delete "free movies" app. The old OS was so sleek and simple. Nothing played in the background. You turned it on and selected the app you wanted. Now a wall of TV channels I do not want pop up and the TV keeps defaulting to them every chance it gets. Making it cumbersome to use.

Really good budget HDTV

First and foremost this is a budget HDTV so do not expect things like HDR or 10-bit color support. It does feature very accurate color decoding when set to "Movie" mode and it's motion clear setting helps improve motion clarity in any setting. The TV also does very well in video games with fairly low latency although I personally avoid "game mode" due to 30 hz in games appearing too choppy on a 120 hz panel. Do note you will want to tone down the contrast to 40 and sharpness to 0 or else the picture will look "off". It's only letdown is having just coaxial and two HDMI ports for inputs.

Bad customer service

Bought this TV on Black Friday. Overall nice audio and Smart TV features, but it has bright white spots right in the center of the screen, which makes it really hard to be able to see when image is dark. I called customer service and was told that there is nothing they could do because it has been more than 2 weeks (even though the BestBuy so-called extended return policy states I can get it refunded through mid-January). Really disappointing. Be careful about the fine print in the "extended return policy"! I would recommend buying at another store with better customer service.

After 3.5 years and a year and a half of use the audio outlet died. Sucks that it just died because I did have the 3 year extended warranty.

The bought Samsung - 50" Class NU6900 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV online in error wanted the Series 7 which is their 2020 model and a much better TV.
Our issue at first was this is a 2018 model and didn't want the older technology.
We were replace a samsung 40" that operated great for the last 9 or 10 year. It just rice crisped. Snap, Crackle and Pop no sound, no picture - no use time for another.
The product arrived on time and was easy to get out of the box and put the legs on.
Other than the set not seeing my cable box after setup it was easily remedied buy following the on screen direction.
It came with no cables (not usual) so I connected it to the existing coax. The picture was horrible on cable but fine on the internet. It's not the easiest to set up.
We had our service test and reset the box with little change.
The set had limited side view as compared to our other samsung set.
We boxed it up and returned it. And purchase a different brand with 240 motion refresh rate.
Last to to be fair. Had the samsung come with a HMDI cable the picture problem should have resolved itself and did the replacement set did after contacting or service provider.
We set it up on coax and my wife found a HMDI cable included
plugged it in switched input and the Boogeyman went away.
Hence, buy a HMDI cable at the time you buy this low prices Samsung smart TV and save yourself the headache.
As for recommending it you get what you pay for and VALUE is just that. Samsung quality at a lower price.
If the $20 saving is with the 2018 technology enjoy.

When I bought this tv a year ago, it was great. I loved it. But now, not so much. It won’t let me connect to the Samsung remote app on my phone, I have issues with Disney+, and it won’t connect via Airplay to play videos on Facebook. Also, it responds very slowly to the remote. Disappointing for it to be a Samsung tv. So, my advice, get something else because this one is not it.
