More cons than pros with this model! No bluetooth connectivity No high-speed wifi support No built in OTA antenna No built in Apps Picture quality isnt anything special if its less than a 1080 resolution. And the extra cost to operate makes me wonder if I should have just gone smaller with more premium features on a different maker. I know my cons may seem silly, but this is the 21st century. Bluetooth has been a standard feature of palm sized devices for well over a decade. OTA antennas can be built out of cardboard and paperclips. How can they not fit these functions into a wall sized television? Do yourself a favor, save at least $100, buy a cheaper model and just get a BB extended warranty if youre really concerned something might happen in 2-5 years. If the picture quality had been garbage, I would not have hesitated a 1 star review.

This TV is 90% perfect. The picture is wonderful and it was 100% easy to set up. I had mine connected using ethernet for the best possible 4K UHD signal. Netflix looks beautiful! However none of the other apps (Hulu, Amazon etc.) would work. They would all freeze and lock up the TV after clicking on them. I've spoken with tech support and followed all of the steps to reset the TV to factory default settings and updated all of the software and firmware, uninstalled and then reinstalled the apps, but the problem still remains. After getting off of the phone with them I disconnected the ethernet cord and just used wifi; NOW everything works just fine. I called back and they say the TV must have defective ethernet port. I'm taking it back for an exchange. Sadly this all happened on day 1 of owning the TV. Hopefully the replacement will be in 100% working order.

Great clear picture clarity running at 4K, HDR 10+ Low price - got it for a deal - Picture is 10/10 Sound is 10/10 - has some above average bass compared to other that won awards ATS CONS: - Two HDMI ports one is ARC and the other is regular, so if you plan on plugging in a bunch of HDMI, I would keep this in mind. - One USB port that only outputs .5v -.5v aka this is not enough to run a ROKU streaming stick PLUS (=) at full strength, so you will need to use the adapter included. Otherwise, this is great TV, nice and flat. 50" is perfect and not blurry at all and sit about 1 foot away.

Great TV but Apps Don’t Work

The tv is great, nice picture quality, great features, easy to use, functionality is satisfactory. The settings menu is a bit tedious to go through which I still can live with but the most annoying thing about this TV is how most apps (even preinstalled) don’t work. My Hulu app plays videos 25% of the time. The 30 day trial I got with Sling TV would be great...if the Sling TV app even worked on the TV. Have not been able to get even one video to play via Sling TV app on this TV. I had to buy a Roku Stick+ to be able to access apps and even then, the stick does not work at highest frames per second on the TV (60). The screen will black out momentarily throughout your entire show. I had to lower frames per second just to watch the Roku stick now, so picture quality is also sacrificed. I like the tv but I’m honestly not too satisfied...its a hassle to figure things out that should be simple.

I have been a Samsung tv owner for years. My mom was in need of a new tv. Therefore I decided to get her one for Christmas. The price was excellent during Black Friday. The tv had all of the updated apps so she can stream tv and cut the cable cord. The 4K picture was way better than her old tv. My mom still likes to watch her DVD player. Therefore, we had to buy an RCA to HDMI adapter because the tv no longer has RCA jacks on the back. It only has hdmi ports. I also found the tv no longer has the On/Off Timer feature. It only continued to have the sleep timer. Just like other reviews for this tv, we also use the "On Timer" in the morning as an alarm. We set the tv to come on with the News so we can get the weather and traffic to begin our work day. I hope Samsung brings that feature back. Overall, this tv was a good deal. I just had to take off a star for Samsung removing the Timer On/Off feature.

For a "budget" TV, this is a great buy. We purchased during the Pre-Black Friday sale at a very competitive price. Make sure you know what you need. This model has limited connections, but that helps to keep the price low. Yes, there are plenty of TVs with better pictures, but they cost three times as much and aren't THAT much better. It depends on your personal preference. We replaced a 32" Samsung (still working fine) that we've had for several years and wanted to continue with brand loyalty. I'll update my review if we encounter problems, but so far couldn't be happier with the product for the $$ spent.

The upscaling feature on this TV is impressive! I connected my computer to this TV with HDMI 2.0 played some Dirt Rally 2. I was playing at 1080p and the upscaling on the television did I great job! I thought I was playing at 1440p or rather my monitors native resolution. For reference I'm running a GTX 1080 graphics card. Additionally, I played Hitman 2 from my computer at 1440p and it looked fantastic. I sit roughly four feet away from my TV on a couch and being able to play at 1440p at a rock solid frame rate with upscaling to 4k is awesome. The difference between 1440p and 4k is expensive performance wise and the upscaling this TV provides closes that gap! I have better than 20/20 vision and the difference between 1440p and 4k is negligible on this TV with upscaling.

I bought this as a pre black friday special. really good price, to good to pass up. Overall this is a good entry level television. The 4K picture is great! XBOX One X with its 4K gaming capabilities really looks great on this television. Its pretty user friendly. Easily mounted on a wall. One gripe i do have with it is that the viewing angle s are poor. sitting in front of the television or a little to the side of the center looks great but color significantly fade as you view at an angle. Another dislike I have is that the Spectrum TV App and Sling app that I use with the smart capabilities ALWAYS crash or freeze. They are not reliable at all on this television and I cannot figure out wether it is the tv or the app. Netflix and Amazon prime video work flawlessly? not sure if the television has a problem streaming live TV?

If you can grab this tv for under 400 you did well. It looks great and is also east to set up. Honestly i read so many negative reviews and none of that has been my experience. Its worth the risk if you have a warranty and receipt because this tv should function normally and be pleasant... which i think it really is, especially considering it was around 330 dollars. I would deff recommend this tv. The inly reason i took of a star is because its having wifi connectivity issues and i noticed that on certain content moving black colors have a grainy texture super close up. Non of those negatices really affect the pleasure of watching tv tho so 4 stars

Purchased this TV on a BlackFriday pre sale for an unbelievable price for a 50in 4K Samsung. I didn't really need a new TV. Just bought a 65 in Hisense 4K from BestBuy during the summer and already had a 50 in Hisense 4 k for use in my bedroom. That 50 in was 399.00, and I thought that was a great deal, but this Samsung at 327.00 is unbeatable. The picture is crisp and amazing, sound quality is superior for a flat screen. I just couldn't say no to this for my guest room...and lately I'm watching TV and sleeping in my guest room off and on, because this TV is awesome!

Like others, I purchased this television right before Black Friday at the $327.99 price. The purchase was a good buy and for the most part, I am happy with the unit. A digital adapter is required with the local cable company and when I first connected it to the standard digital adapter I had, I was a bit disappointed with the picture. The next day I upgraded to a high def digital adapter and the picture quality was remarkably better. I was initially reluctant to purchase a model that had so few video/audio inputs but this television will not be used for much other than live TV viewing. I hope I don’t regret having only one true HDMI input and no component or composite video inputs. I also wish Samsung and other manufacturers would improve the stand quality. Not everyone uses wall mounts and this size could still use a single pedestal.

I needed to replace my other tv because the HDMI inputs stopped working and the tv's software was incompatible with the newer devices such as Fire Stick and Roku. I got a smart tv to eliminate or reduce the need for addon devices. This tv does what I want it to do. I can access prime tv, netflix, vudu hulu and other apps which are included in the software. The tv's tuner brings in a lot of over the air channels with a simple, inexpensive antenna. Additionally, the tv plus app brings in even more channels and improves clarity and reduces pixelation. I am giving the tv 4 stars instead of five because it only has 2 HDMI jacks. I use my tv as a computer monitor and usually have two computers connected to stream anime and other stuff. All in all a great buy.

Affordable 4K TV (great, but not for gaming)

This TV looks amazing at first. It's very crisp and offers a beautiful resolution and crisp motion when displaying movies/shows, however, this TV only earned 3 stars in this review because when displaying scenes of high action and fast movement the TV performs very poorly. This poor performance includes video games. The TV has no "video game mode" and it does not smooth out high movement well enough. The TV lags very much when playing video games and seems to refresh slower and flow less smooth than a standard definition TV at times of high action display. It's a great 4k TV to start with, but I do not reccomend this TV for gaming. It works fine with everything else and looks beautiful when it does not lag.

The picture and color were awful. It was difficult to get rid of the haze and get the color adjusted, and when the picture looked watchable and I'd change channels, it was awful again. I did try hard to make it work for me. I was told that low budget 4k TV have trouble upscaleling the picture, I don't know if that was the problem or not. I upgraded my Netflix account and watched some 4K things and I could barely notice the difference. Since there's very little 4K programming available anyway, I returned this and bought a 49" 1080, TCL TV and the picture is stunning, not to mention it's loaded with a lot more ports and it's a Roku TV so I can add whatever apps I want to add..

I purchased a 65" 8000 series Samsung tv for us last Christmas the picture everything is great . I purchased this Samsung for my twin boys room .. they watch tv, you tube, play Xbox etc. with it. the picture and audio were so outstanding I tried to give them the larger tv in the living room ands they wanted to keep this one they like how the size fits the room and then being far away our up close they don't complain about eye stain etc. like they did with the other brand I accidentally dropped and broke the screen. so this gets a six thumbs up from me and my twin 14 y.o.s I've researched all brands for size quality price etc. and Samsung is the best that I can find for the money . plus out works with my Samsung phone to be able to turn it off and on from my room. lol

TV's have come a long way since I bought my last one ... a 56" plasma that cost 10X as much as this Samsung. TV is fine and good value for the price but I knock a couple stars off. One, the colors are a little too bold and unnatural and not easy to adjust. Two, the auto set up failed repeatedly until I gave up and did it manually which was actually quite straight forward. Not a great start with your new "smart" TV. Three, I purchased a Samsung sound bar to go with this TV but the two don't pair with each other which is kinda dumb. My 10 year old Panasonic TV and cheap shelf home theater set that this purchase replaced linked flawlessly. I would be more willing to plunk more money for Samsung's products if they actually work together.

I had a long great review and the page closed. Anyway, I’ve done extensive research on 4K/HDR TVs, and its a real PITA. I lucked out and so can you. You can stop researching now. I did the work for you already. Blacks are true to the video, blue eyes pop, depths of fields are mesmerizing. Quality made, no regrets. Have recommended to friends who had also agreed, purchased and love. This model is the one everyone. Price is unbeatable. It’s recomended to get a 55” (technically) for “full pixel coverage in 4K” ..but I honestly don’t think it makes much of a difference (imho) with my 50” (and I color grade films, etc) for a living. One note to mention from my experience is that the remote responce time lags at times, but is not a dealbreaker whatsoever. A+++ 5-Star purchase.

I bought this TV, a 50 inch NU6900 around the same time as another 50 inch 4K smart TV, the LG 50UK6090 for a different room. Unlike the LG, this set has fewer HDMI ports, does not have component/composite port, and has wifi connectivity issues. I have a dual-band wifi router and I am required to use the guess account in order for this smart TV to connect to the internet. The picture and sound quality is comparable and up to par with the LG as both are entry level 4K Smart TVs. One thing this set has that the LG doesn't, are useless menu animations and menu sounds and that's about it. Only buy this set if you're loyal to the Samsung brand, otherwise, the LG UK6090 series is by far a much better value.

I'm not getting paid to write this review. I'm a single tech guy who loves quality products. I'd originally purchased Insigna Fire TV the resolution subpar compared to the this television. I really like the deep contrast and UHD resolution. There's a huge difference between this TV and the Insignia product. The colors are much more vivid the resolution is much sharper and the color depth is beyond compare. I'm a Samsung guy and I really like how the smart TV remote controls everything including my Blu-ray player. Save your money and wait to get this television you'll be happy you did.

I purchased this TV on Black Friday for $327. I was instantly AMAZED by the quality, colors, and HDR. This TV is honestly the best screen I've ever seen in person. The smart features are excellent. I have my Smart Things connected to my Google Home so I can turn the TV on and off using my voice. My only gripe is the remote. The remote is bad. The keys are squishy and it's very cheap, understandably though. If you want an excellent TV with amazing 4K quality, brightness, color and price, this is the TV for you. I will definitely be sticking with Samsung TV's for the rest of my life.
