Great TV for the Price

I got this TV to replace an older, smaller LED TV in my bedroom. I was very impressed with the price for a TV of this size. Things were smooth at the store, and I had it home, set up, and was watching content within just a few minutes.
I have the 65" Curved 4K Samsung in my living room, and while the picture and clarity doesn't really compare to that TV, it was also $1500 less. I'm very pleased with the picture and sound quality.
With just a few picture tuning changes from the menu and increasing the bass levels through the TV's equalizer, you will have a great viewing experience at a very reasonable price. I am very happy with my purchase.

It smelled like fertilizer. It was so strong that it made my throat burn, and the screen had light bleed really bad.
Made an exchange. New tv has an odor but not too bad.

Purchased 3 days ago and this TV is great. Great picture, good sound and I got it for $529 total tax included because I had a 10% off coupon. There is not another 58 inch TV on the market at that price and this is a Samsung. The only thing that is slow on the TV is waiting for the smart hub to load when the TV starts up. Usually 3-4 minutes and you are ready to use all of your apps. If you are watching TV or blu-ray/DVD, that can be done immediately.

We purchased this set during the Christmas sale season for $549.99, which was the lowest price we have seen. Took the set home and had it up and running in no time. Takes a little time to become used to the controls, but any new tv will be the same. I have noticed the slow 60Hz refresh rate being a bit of an issue at times. It isn't anything that would stop me from buying the tv, but it is worth noting. We haven't yet messed with all of the smart functions, but had no problems setting the tv up for our Netflix account and home wifi. The set is definitely a keeper for the price we paid.

I was looking for a deal but wanted a known reliable brand! This HDTV showed its manufacturing date was December 2015. I was delighted to see it was a new model and it's performance exceeds my expectations only connected to a Time Warner cable box, so it was not a disappointment to have a 60herz refresh rate. Easy to set up and even easier to secure its wi-fi connection for streaming smart TV ability. Hands down, Best Buy beat ANY competitor for price. Fantastic value!

Much to my displeasure, my trusty 46" Panasonic plasma was hit by lightning, thus forcing me to look for a new TV. I say much to my displeasure, because frankly "LED" (LCD with LED backlight) is nowhere near as good as plasma. Period. No matter what your electronics guy told you, he lied. The really awful thing is that the only comparable technology image-quality wise is OLED. Well, OLED TVs are like $4000.... and my budget was well under $1000. So, I decided to just go straight to the discount route, but I wanted a bigger screen. This Samsung fit the bill. It's a big 58" screen, but without the $1000+ price of most in this size class.
The Good:
-Good picture. Great picture? No. Good picture. Not as good as a plasma or even a higher end "LED" (LCD) TV set. But good for what you pay.
-Smart features seem to work pretty well. I've used the Netflix and the HBO Go apps and they work just fine. The Netflix app is exactly the same as my Roku 3, but the HBO app is definitely different. Functionality is still there, though. I also used screen mirroring from my LG phone, and it works flawlessly.
-Light weight, easy to install. I pulled the old brackets off my Panasonic and they bolted right up to the Samsung. They've really gotten a lot lighter, especially considering that plasmas have solid glass screens, and this LED (LCD) TV has a plastic screen. That surely made it convenient to install.
-Speakers are actually not terrible. I'm hearing all these stories about how you *must* have a sound bar with these new cheap flat screens, but I think it works fine, at least when wall-mounted (the sound reflects from the wall)
-I'm pretty picky about natural motion on TV screens, which is one reason I still prefer plasma. However, The 60hz refresh on this is absolutely fine. It presents no strange appearance, no blurring (at least not beyond the pixelation that occurs from cable TV compression), and it doesn't have that annoying fake movement that so many of the "120hz" or "240hz" TVs have. It's also known as "Soap Opera Effect" and it's a horrible, horrible problem on many higher end LED TV sets. Thanks to a lack of that technology on this set, it doesn't look strange at all! All good!
The Bad:
-Not enough ports, only two HDMI, only one composite/component combo jack input, NO ANALOG AUDIO OUTPUT (ugh!!!! I cannot hook up my stereo to this!!), no front jacks (no easy way to do a temporary game connection, for instance)
-No buttons.... like... at all. Not even a power button?? So if you don't have the remote, forget about watching TV.... or even turning the TV off.
-Image quality is good, as I stated above, but it's not great. It is not on par with more expensive LED TV sets, but those sets are 2-3x the price of this one. Also, you can get an off brand 55" for quite bit cheaper than this, but I would caution against the off brands as your "main" TV. I am ok with off-brand for bedroom viewing, but for my main football and movie TV, I need at least good quality.
So... if you're looking for a state of the art TV set, this isn't it. If you want a big 58" screen with good picture and a cheap price, go for it, you will be very happy.

Its a great TV. Just take it easy unboxing it or youll ruin the screen, and have to lie to best buy about how it happen like a few of you have. Over all the tv is great. Miles ahead of my ol' fat-back boob tube. But.. Just a few baby steps behind the "better tv's". Remember my pedegree chums.. This is the internet. Where butt-hurt cry babies come to vent their frustrations cause no one they know wants hear them blubber about it. Aslo, dont let these jaded tech turds tell you your dumb for buying a good tv. If they were so damned bright they would have done better research. So what to do now?... Adjust the picture, get some action movies, and call your friends PRONTO! Parties at your house tonight;)

I had been in the market to upgrading my 8 year old 40" Samsung LCD to a larger screen Samsung television for well over a year. I'm glad I waited, because this tv is perfect and very affordable!! The size, sharp picture and audio are all excellent!!! You will definitely NOT be disappointed with this television!!! The only minor note: my surround sound receiver is about 16 years old, so I had to purchase a digital - to - analog audio adapter in order to play the tv audio through my surround speakers. However, that was no biggie.

Excellent VALUE for a large Smart TV

I needed a larger TV for my basement in my new house, I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a large 4K screen yet as we have plenty of other things we need to buy to furnish our house. I read the reviews of this TV, I l already had a 32" Samsung that is probably 7-8 years old and is still kickin so I had no reservations about Samsung so I pulled the trigger on this yesterday for $500 (Labor Day Sale). Set it up last night, no issues, nice, big beautiful picture and EXCELLENT built in speakers for Movies and Sporting events (TV shows of course too). I connect to NETFLIX via my Tivo unit so I can't fully comment on it's wireless capabilities but it found my wireless network right away so no complaints there ! The 60Hz refresh rate is beautiful for Netflix content, sporting events look good enough so if you want a LARGE, VALUE Smart TV with EXCELLENT SOUND... get this TV ! It's GREAT !

I got this item on sale for $450, so part of my impression is the price point relative to the value.
the good - size, picture quality, ease of features, intuitive remote and menus, Samsung tv's tend to be reliable.
the bad - the Smarthub doesn't have a Sling TV app developed yet, there are only 2 HDMI inputs on the back, and the base is fixed (if you don't mount it).
All in - it's a 58" smart Samsung LED tv for $450. That feels like a good buy.

Got this TV on 1/9/2016 and used daily ever since. At that time there were not many review on this TV and was not sure how it was going to perform. However it was deal as $530 for 58" class which was close enough to 60" models and price was un-matched to any other competitors at that time. I took the chance and I was amazed and never regret buying this TV. I have 4K Vizio P60 which had great picture with some calibration. This TV does not have sharp picture as 4K TV of course but with some range from sofa it was not so noticeable. Also the color was wonderful with few adjustment. I didn't like the smart function as I was spoiled with Amazon TV stick. it works but not so fast and easy to use compare to Fire TV. I just hook up my Fire Stick and never looked back. Again it works so no issue on that just slower than other Smart devices. Now the TV is in my living room for kids and it has been used 1 and half years daily and at least couple hours as Kids watches shows every night. TV had no issue and holding up greatly. 2 HDMI was good enough for our purpose and USB was working great as I tried to connect external hard drive with HD movies in it. it reads all the movies without issues and even was able to put .smi subtitles. Can't ask more.
