I had really been researching TV's for awhile now. I have always had SONY TV's in the past and have been pleased with them. When I went to Best Buy and compared them side by side I just felt the Samsung had a better picture. I even had the sales rep make them both have the same settings. So This is the one i went with. I did see al lot of people have trouble with the wifi set up but I had no problems with that. The hand gestures work very well and not problems. I did have one encounter where the voice command pick up a conversation and changed the channel on us. No big deal and you can always turn off the voice and gesture control off anyway. The picture is beautiful and almost went with the 4k model but i could no see a big difference for such a huge price difference. The interface is easy to set up. One thing I love about the tv is when you go through the settings like picture of sound when you go through to choose it lets you see the picture or sound difference. The only thing i had to purchase extra was a new wifi router as the one that comes with my cable company just did not have a strong enough connection (my main wifi is hooked up on the 2nd floor office at the front of my home and the tv is located in the sitting room at the back of the home) once i did that (i bought the lynksys EA6900) i have not had one bit of trouble with wifi connectivity and i can stream my apple tv and no problem what so ever. I also have 9 other devices hooked up with no connectivity problem either. So bottom line i really like this tv!

We took the plunge and got this TV. While we still have not explored everything available, we have found that you HAVE to get it calibrated - either professional or do some research to try settings other people have used - otherwise you get that 'soap opera' look. It's amazing either way though - it is so clear and BIG. We did find that we were on with Samsung tech support day 1 because we did not have the Samsung store app which is your gateway to the rest of the apps. Also, do not expect to find an actual web browser of any sort - it's the apps or nothing (at least that's what we've found so far). The sound is okay - we have a surround sound setup so the TV volume is not actually used unless one of the kids turns it up - and no TVs sound can match surround sound. And...it looks great from all angles!

The picture is amazing. I went from a Sony LCD to this TV and the difference is very noticeable. I find myself watching sports that I do not even follow because of the picture quality.

This clarity of the picture during all types of scenes is great. The black on black color displays really good. The smart part is as good as any of the freinds lower or higher end smart tv. Easy to navigate and add apps. As the 4k tv move down in price I would watch for this tv to drop in price. It not as good of a picture as the 4k ones but more than good enough for standard tv watching unless you must have the newest technology.

Stunning TV with all the bells & whistles. Nearly bezel-less design. Very thin and light. You can pick it up by yourself (though I wouldn't recommend it). Great SmartTV capabilities and interface and can be upgraded. Lots of ports for connectivity, including several HDMI, USB, Optical Out, and Ethernet. Great picture clarity. Even has a pop-up camera!

This was a tough choice since I was considering size (60" or 65"), LED vs plasma, latest model (8000) vs previous model (7100, I believe), number of HDMI ports, resolution, etc. I didn't know all the features I should have considered, and there are still many I have not yet discovered or explored. I hit it out of the park with this one. Sometimes you wonder whether you made the right choice vs other alternatives you considered. Not with this. I have no second thoughts and there is nothing "missing", and there are many things I didn't expect. Even the remote has some very unusual and unexpected features I've never seen before. And 3D? I had no interest in 3D but it was included regardless. As is the little pop-up camera that knows if you're waving your hand to get the TV's attention so you can select something by making a fist. Or talking to the TV to tell it what to do. These were not necessary to me, but now that I have them, it's nice to know they are there. This is especially true of 3D. I had never seen 3D at home, and I believe it's even better than in the theater. For one thing, the included 4 pair of 3D glasses are more comfortable than the theater types, and they really work well. I've only seen Titanic and Avatar in 3D, and ESPN, and a couple more Starz channel 3D shows, but it is a feature I now wouldn't want to be without, though I don't expect to be a heavy 3D user. You can easily read the specs, and you'll see only superlative reviews for this Samsung 60" model 8000. My contribution is to let you know that I am the type of person who, once having made a purchase, am always aware of the alternatives I considered and often wonder if my selection was the best, or was the second choice maybe the better choice? I had none of this for this HDTV. In this case I am convinced that nothing else I considered would have exceeded, much less come close to this selection. There are three things I would advise if buying this or anything like this. First, get a flexible wall mount, one that you can put close to the wall (within 3.5") or pull out (to 29"), just to maximize possibilities. Second, find out how to configure the picture (which is great when you get it) to calibrate just the way you want it. There are so many settings to play with, none of which seems to hurt the picture, just a matter of selecting your preferences such as sharpness (soap opera effect vs movie effect), etc. And finally, I think the sound coming from this TV is very good, but I read a review of sound bars of which Sony offers one for $299.99, and it was top-rated in this review. I just bought it last week and it's a winner and a perfect match for a perfect HDTV.

I'm very pleased with the picture quality and interactivity through the Samsung remote. I'm frustrated with the hand motions occasionally working when desired and sometimes when not desired. The verbal command icons will arbitrarily show up without any command having been given, even with total silence from TV watchers. Internet interactivity is great - I probably need to purchase the wifi keyboard if I were going to spend a lot of time surfing on the TV. Currently i have to scroll and click on each letter desired and it's a bit of a pain.

We love our new Samsung TV! The 3D glasses are fantastic, it's like being at the movies with 3D, we also love the remote! The smart remote is cool, you can write or swipe in the pad, you can use voice control or use hand movements with the camera! The picture quality is so good, and the colors are amazing. We love watching 3D movies and my children love playing car games on Xbox on it! It has netflix and we can access it and other great internet apps right from the smart hub! The smart hub also gives a summary of what is on and what is coming up!

This is a GREAT TV, picture is awesome, Blue-Ray images just pop off the screen. Smart TV functions are FAST and work great. Very easy to setup, did not need Geek Squad to setup picture. Sound is not great but does work well for news. I have a BOSE sound bar for movies. Has way more features than what I use. I haven't used it for 3D viewing but have looked at some 3D trailers and it does a good job.

    So Far so good

So this is my first everything TV meaning first LED first smart tv and first 3D tv and so far everything is hitting on all cylinders. From the deep color saturation of watching sports to the sharp detail in blu ray movies I have never seen anything like this before so I am very satisfied with this new set however, I'm more of a plasma fan in fact, my very first flat screen tv was a 42" Panasonic plasma that I still have to this day, and one would think because I've had that type of TV for more than 10 years It would be difficult to transition from one tech to the other. Well, I quickly had come to the realization that plasma has gone the way of the dinosaur unfortunately and LED was here to take over and that was no problem to me because of all the positive things I had already seen and read about LED technology over the years just made the transition easy for me it was the price hump I had to get over because plasma was always cheaper than LED until the price of the 60F8000 went down and I thaught this is probably one of the best tv's of its kind so long story short so far I have no regrets with my purchase now I just gotta find a nice home theater system to match my big picture with some big sound!

I was a little hesitant about spending almost $3000 on a non-Sony TV. However, the picture quality and Smart features far exceeded my expectations. The only issue that I am having is that the remote is a little awkward to use. I am certainly glad I made this purchase and would definitely recommend this model to a friend.

I bought this TV as a replacement for an old Sony LCD projection. This is LIGHTYEARS better. Video games come alive on the screen, animated movies look absolutely stunning, action scenes NEVER blur or pixilate, and the user interface for the SMART functions is intuitive and fun. I would certainly recommend this for anybody looking to upgrade to a top of the line TV.

We love our 60 inch tv. Our kids spend more time around us because of it. I love to navigate the Internet; big and great picture. I am a member of Shutterfly, love to go through my family pictures as I can review the on a big screen. Netflix is one of our favorite sites to visit; we can watch movies and cartoons. We are very happy with our purchase!

Samsung makes a great television and this model is no exception. The picture quality is exceptional and even non-high definition channels appear crisp, clear and lifelike. Movies look great on the screen in 2D or 3D formats. The sound quality is nice also. This TV has several cool features like motion control, and voice control but they don't always work the best. For motion control the range seems small so if you are sitting in a chair to the side of the TV it doesn't always pick up the hand gestures accurately. Similarly, voice control sometimes takes a few times to recognize the command you are speaking. There are several applications available on the TV so you can watch Netflix, Hulu Plus or even browse Facebook. These are nice to have built in so you don’t have to have another device connected to the TV. The universal remote control that comes with the television is sleek and modern and the touch pad is a nice feature. However, this remote lacks some basic features of other universal controls. For example, there are no DVD player controls so you have to bring up the on screen remote or attempt voice commands. The guide button on the remote only brings up a digital listing of shows but it is not customizable so I cannot use it to bring up the guide available on my digital cable box. Generally, I find myself using a Harmony universal remote to control the television and other components. Overall, this is a good television and the smart features are fun to use when they work but if you are not interested in those features you can probably find another Samsung model with equal picture and sound quality for less money.

Bought this TV as a "cheaper" alternative to it's 4k daddy. Very pleased with this incredible device. The picture is incredible, and the smart features truly are "smart." The voice control can be annoying - it would activate at random times, so we finally turned it off. The gesture control would also activate if I placed my arm above my head while laying down, so I shut that off too! But overall, this is one of the best purchases I've ever made!

TV Picture is great. I primarily watch Hi Def TV (sports and movies) over fios. I am not a big fan of the motion controls so I deactivated them. For example in the middle of a movie the motion menu would pop up and you couldn't see or hear the movie. I just had the TV "calibrated" today by geek squad and I am concerned it has decreased the picture quality so I may have to call them back out...since the calibration the picture appears more faded / washed out looking. I did not buy the TV for 3D purposes but I have to admit it is pretty cool and my kid really likes it. The full web browser is great and I purchased the bluetooth samsung keyboard.

This tv has exceeded my expectations. Like a lot of people I researched televisions for several weeks prior to purchasing this Samsung 60" 8000 series. It has the best picture I have ever seen. The 3D is incredible. The voice command is very accurate and easy to use. It is so much more than a television. Since its arrival I never use my laptop. All social media and web browsing is now done on this television.
