We are still trying to find the perfect picture though since online professional calibrators seem to only be giving high level settings when previous tv’s we purchased had many more setting details. We feel it’s capable of a better picture but not paying $$ for professional calibration.

The user interface is different and OTA TV menu helps take the place for us cord cutters. However, the tv is not without it's downside. When using remote to turn the tv on or off, all other TV's in the house respond the same way, totally different makes. Tv also shuts off randomly even though the sleep timer is not activated. The may be better choices available for the money.

To avoid unwanted power off/on via IR signal, try using virtual remote on SmartThings to turn on/off one TV, or make sure to block the remote signal from reaching other TVs in your house.
The random shutoff may be related to your Ambient mode timer. Follow these steps to turn it off.
1. Make sure TV is updated to latest software version currently 1131.9
2. Press Ambient button on remote twice (1st press loads ambient mode, 2nd shows options)
3. Navigate to Settings (Gear icon)
4. Scroll Down to “Ambient off Timer”
5. Change the settings or turn the ambient timer off
If the issue persists after these steps, then the TV will need service.

Once my wife saw the QLED she had to have it and it was a great choice. It is almost like you can step right into the picture. I fully recommend going for the QLED, yes it is more money but it is worth it.
