Best in class
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great TV, even after 5yrs the pic still holds up to anything else on the market, without the fear of screen burn in. I'm not sure why Samsung moved away from the OneBox feature in the US. They continued to offer it outside the US for years, and maybe still do. This TV's ONLY downside are the internal speakers, which are not best in class by any means. But that was quickly resolved with the addition of a soundbar, that I was going to get anyway, Pic's below were taken the night I hooked it up, and were just broadcast xfinity HD... not 4K. And they still looked good. View from the side is great, and the version of Tizen running on this TV is much more user-friendly than the version used on the newer 2023 & up TV's. IF I needed another 65" TV, I would by one of these used, b4 any of the current Samsung offerings.

Second only to OLED and far better in many ways
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In short: Phenomenal picture, unbelievable black levels for LED, fast processing, One Connect is a great idea proper HDR is a whole new world Longer thoughts: Did a lot of soul searching on this one because I've been a long time fan of LG OLED and black friday put both this and the 65" C9 in the same ballpark, but went with the Sammy for 3 key reasons, and this may relate to your viewing situations: 1, the TV absolutely eats reflections from the room, I don't know how they do it but you can practically have an open window in full daylight and it won't effect the picture, anything you do see is highly diffused. If you have a theater room I'd probably go LG but for the real world this wins. 2, and somewhat related, the light output is immense, really puts the punch in the HDR, and again shines under less than ideal viewing conditions. The full array dimming is the blackest I've seen from any conventional set and even if it's not pure zero it's close enough for my technically minded eyes. 3, even though it's been greatly diminished, I'm still seeing all the OLED burn-in horror stories.. obviously in most cases you'd have to own the set a while to have that happen, who'd own anything that long in this consumer world, but why not live without that fear? MicroLED and other tech will make this all academic soon enough anyway. Also the stand and One Connect Box are extremely slick, will be mounting it soon but it's such a cool thing either way, since the remote is bluetooth was able to tuck the entire box away in the TV cabinet underneath and nothing sticks out at all

QLED beats OLED
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had this TV for only 3 days, but have to say despite all the recommendations and plaudits for the LG C9 OLED I was also considering, I'm extremely happy with my choice. My TV is wall mounted and connected to a 5.2 surround sound system in a very bright room. The brightness capability of QLED over OLED is a key factor in the performance of Samsung over LG. I was also somewhat concerned over burn-in related to OLED, although I don't think that alone would have been a deciding factor. The install experience was excellent. Easy to set-up although I needed a second person due to size and weight. I was a little dubious about OneConnect and Samsung requiring an intervening device between by AVR receiver and the TV, but now I don't think the OneConnect has affected the quality of 4K signal getting to the TV. In terms of post-installation tuning, I found a set of recommendations on rtings.com and have tried many of those settings, but I feel that the factory defaults are very close to providing the best picture in my environment. The Ambient Light Detection sounded like a good idea and worked well during daylight hours, but once the sun set and the room became darker, the whole picture was too dark for my enjoyment. I am still experimenting with the settings for Local Dimming between the factory default of standard and the calibration recommendation of high. Likewise for Adaptive Brightness and Color Tone where the factory defaults are very good and not sure if other settings are better or not. The picture quality is outstanding and much sharper and crisper than the 5 year-old Sony 930D I replaced. The colors feel like they jump off the screen and are very vibrant. My wife who admits to not having a keen eye for picture quality has, for the first time, commented about the striking difference as I have graduated from SD to HD to UHD over the past 15 years. My only negative comment was that the first unit I brought home had to be returned as it had black vertical lines across the screen and I concluded along with the best Buy store manager that it was due to shipping damage probably from being dropped or handled roughly so I don't fault Samsung nor Best Buy (box didn't show any damage). Best Buy readily replaced the unit and the return was hassle-free. Second unit is perfect. So happy with my decision as in the showroom, both the LG C9 OLED and the Samsung Q90R QLED looked equivalent to my eye. Can't recommend this TV any higher.

No Buyers Remorse
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this television for a month now and the clarity of the picture just amazes me every time I turn it on. I will make a few things clear to everyone thinking of buying the Q90R. Number one and most important, the quality of the picture is only as good as the source going into it. Non HD content is non HD, simple as that. HD content supplied by most over the air stations is very good on the screen and I do have an indoor antenna that works great with this TV. I also have Directv and even with my old equipment, the picture was better than my last 1080 HD tv. I was kind of lucky that Directv owed me an upgrade on my equipment and I didn't have to pay for an upgrade 4K box. Because the new 4K box from Directv makes the picture even better in comparison to the old box. HD is still HD, but the picture really pops now, way better with the newer box going into the TV. And the 4K channel that Directv gives for free is amazing to watch. With the most amazing thing being... and I have to laugh... commercials on all channels are shot in the best HD... I actually find myself watching commercials just to see the picture... (smiles). The other thing I did was to get the Samsung 4K DVD player. Being Samsung, the TV and DVD player recognized each other with no problems. And the last thing I did was to upgrade my HDMI cables so there would be no weak links in the system. And trust me, you can get Rocketfish HDMI cables for under $30. Don't pay more, a 4K Ultra HD cable does not get any better as you pay more. I haven't tried a 4K disc yet, but a Blue-ray disc is the best I have ever seen. The black bars that run across the top and bottom of the TV on some movies are jet black. In a dark room you can't see them, no light bleed through. Blacks are black and whites are white... and colors... wow. Now with all that said, adjusting the TV is a process. I would recommend watching a Youtube video just to learn about the settings. My only complaint is Samsung's poor user guide and manual. I got a good idea about the settings on Youtube and my first attempt to adjust the TV was good. However, over the next week and a half, I would make little adjustments and leave it for a day then tweak it, leave it for a day and so on. I now have the picture I want, with all sources, and just love the TV... absolutely no buyers remorse. I did get to compare the Q90R QLED with a LG C9 OLED almost side by side and it was no contest when it came to brightness of picture. I was in the market for an OLED until i saw the Q90R. I will say the colors on the OLED were warm and rich, but the picture looked too dark for my taste. The colors of the Q90R were comparable, but the brightness of the picture was heads and tails over the OLED. So much for me thinking OLED was the way to go. Samsung has brought LED televisions to a new level with the Q90R. And of course being a smart TV, I had to try streaming a movie. I was pleasantly surprised at the picture quality... HD is really good and streaming 4K was great. Like I said in the beginning... the picture is only as good as the source. Just take your time to learn how to set-up the picture to your personal taste. I pretty much tried all the settings until I found what I consider picture perfect. And I am very fussy since I do photography on professional level and believe I know a good picture when I see one. Good luck with your choice... I know I made the right one for me. The only this wrong with my TV purchase is it's 65" and not 75"... lol.

QLED = OMG
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ever walk into the “TV” section of a store and there’s that ONE that catches your eye ? - you know the one - it makes you say things like “Some day” or you might quote body parts you’d give up for it ! Well, this was the one for me and it hasn’t disappointed. Had it for a month now. Screen has little to no glare from all angles, and the picture (clarity) is outstanding - My eyes aren’t what they use to be, so again the clarity and colors are just what I needed. Being older sometimes all the remotes and buttons get confusing, so far the wife and I have had no problems, the screens are easy to navigate and remote easy to use. Now price, they ain’t giving them away for sure, but you are getting what you pay for, that’s a higher level of quality !

Great picture, Samsung needs to upgrade!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After extensive research, and having a Q80R soundbar already, I decided on the q90r. THE GOOD- beautiful picture Ease of install and use No threat of burn in screen Good wide angle and glare reduction THE BAD- LIP SYNC ISSUE (as noted in A MULTIPLE OF FORUMS) NO EARC-HDMI 2.1 support NO DOLBY VISION, ATMOS ISSUES PRICE After all this, (go into Samsung forums and check!), I still went with it. I would have purchased a Sony z9 at $1700(half off!) but soundbar is higher than base of Sony as I am not wall mounting. There are many reviews like mine on BB. Lip sync between the tv and soundbar is inexcusable from Samsung! And no fix at this time! Emailed customer service many times and no response. They must firmware update!!! Go with Sony if possible

Amazing Picture
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture on this TV, especially in 4K, is nothing short of amazing! The smart TV features, though very different from my previous Samsung Smart TV, are easy to learn. The remote is also not difficult to master. It has no numbers or letters, but do not worry! It does everything!! The only issue I have with the Q90 is the sound. The sound is Dolby Stereo, which is not so great for watching regular TV programming. I was expecting the dialogue to be clearer than on my 8 year old Samsung. It is not. If a show is broadcast with good sound, like the news channels, then the sound from the TV is excellent. Not every program has as sophisticated sound recording, and the voice quality is not nearly as good. In addition, the volume varies, even within a single program. The new anchor will sometimes be louder than a reporter, etc... Annoying, but I can live with it. On the Country Music Channel ONLY, the lips and sound are out of sync. The setting on the TV to fix this is not effective. Every other station is perfect. Netflix is perfect. Amazon is perfect. Country Music Channel is in sync on our other TVs, so the problem is Samsung and not Direct TV or Country Music Channel. I rarely watch it, so it is not really an issue for me. If Samsung reads these reviews, maybe they can update their software to address this issue. There are "Expert Settings" within the Sound Settings. There is not one to sharpen dialog, which is disappointing. I have used the setting that is supposed to keep the volume steady among channels. We ARE getting used to the sound. We have to keep adjusting the volume, which we never had to do on our old Samsung.. We have a BOSE system we can use with it if we need to, but for regular TV watching, it should not be necessary. Back to the picture. I have Direct TV 4K equipment, and they have two 4K channels which are incredible to watch. I think this TV enhances some programs that are not 4K - not every program, but well broadcast ones like the news, and some movies. I selected Samsung again, because I need a workhorse TV. I don't have to worry about screen burn-in with Samsung. The picture is worth the adjustments we are making to get used to the sound.

BEST Samsung TV to date!!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an LG 4K OLED 3D curved TV that was just three years old. And I do miss that they took the 3D technology out moving forward. But my LG had suffered SERIOUS burn in. The center of the screen had a large burn in square, causing color distortion. And at the bottom right corner, there was burn in from cable channels that leave their channel ticker in the corner. And LG refused to help fix it. Needless to say I was in the market for a new TV. I have always had Samsung tvs before. And never experienced any problems with their sets. It's just that their technology was getting better. So I researched the Samsung QLED Q90r, for a couple of weeks. Read so many reviews. Researched it's technology and life span. Spent hours on YouTube watching comparisons between the flagship Q90r vs their 8k line, vs other flagship brands. And the Q90r just kept shinning through. It still beats out this years Q90t. Even better, I got it at a serious discount from Bestbuy brand new, and paired it with the Q90r soundbar...And MAN am I blown away....BEST money spent hands down. Such amazing picture quality. And it takes gaming to the next level. Very easy to set up, and the one remote takes the stress away of having to figure out what buttons do what. Samsung has simply just made it simplistic. This 65inch beast is just EVERYTHING you can hope for in a home theater experience. Once you tweak things to your visual, and audio likings, you'll be beyond impressed. I'am more than pleased with my purchase. And it looks like Bestbuy has since sold out of this size. That alone should tell you the depth, quality, and outstanding build of the technology in this tv. If you can still find one, get it. I promise you, you won't regret parting ways with some of your hard earned cash!!!

PERFECT TV HANDS DOWN!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this Tv a few weeks ago. It has a magnificent picture. We are blown away. The setup was easy and we had everything up and going in no time. We wall mounted ours but didn't use the no gap mount as our studs are wider than the width of the mount. Love the One Connect box - makes it so easy to connect everything up without having to take the TV off the wall. Would definitely recommend the Q90 - equal to if not better than OLED and without the burn in issues.

Good overall tv
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had a month to use the set. It has worked well in that time. Picture: It has an awesome 4k picture when used with the right content. The standard def shows are not as good although better than a regular tv. You will not see a standard def show on display in the store. You only see it when you get it home and watch. Even with display adjustments it is good but not great. Sound: Average at best. If you want good audio sound you will need a sound bar. Setup: Not really difficult but worried about damaging the once connect cable since they are so expensive to replace. It is nice to have the convenience of hooking up all devices to the box and the one cable to the tv. Just don't bend the cable to much. The stand that the tv comes with is much nicer than the one on the 8 series. The documentation they provide out of box is lacking. You will have to download the manuals if you want in depth explanations. Remote: I like the remote and the tv setup process was good. Would I buy again: Yes - Overall it is a good tv. The only real disappointment is in watching old tv content. If you watch new 4k content then the picture is very good.

A great competitor to an OLED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this tv. the colors just pop and the smart features are snappy and easy to understand. One of the best things, the black levels on this tv are the best on any LCD screen I've ever seen, real close to "perfect blacks" from an OLED. Also, the viewing angle is better on this than any other LCD screen. One of the best tv's released so far in my opinion. The speakers are also really good for just being tv speakers. Just go read any reviews on this tv, and you'll see that many can agree that this is an incredible tv.

Stunning picture every time I turn it on.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would like to start by saying I 1st purchased the LG Oled C9 and while it is a fantastic and beautiful picture it was not good in my room as I have 3 large windows across one side of the room and the picture just wasn't bright enough. If you have a bright room you really need the brightness that the Q90 can give. The black level is fantastic on this tv and the colors will make your mouth smile every timr,so for me and my room this was a great decision and I'm so happy that I switched from the Oled no turning back.

Unreal
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV is excellent. Best picture I’ve ever seen. Would be right up with OLED. No glare at all. Only issue is they marked tv in fair condition and it was pretty poor. Scratches on the one connect box. One major scratch on the screen. And MISSING the stand entirely. Otherwise, TV is pretty sick and I pleased with the purchase

Best TV I've Ever Owned
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is the ultimate entertainment device for the at home experience. It's incredible fast, synced seamlessly with my Samsung soundbar, Samsung 4K Blu-Ray player, DVR, PS4 & Harmony Universal Remote. The Samsung Home feature makes it easy to switch from cable tv to Apple TV or Netflix/Amazon Prime video. The picture quality is amazing too. While cable TV doesn't always give you the 4K quality, Netflix does offer and 4K streaming quality for a little more per month. The picture when watching a 4K Blu Ray is without a doubt the clearest picture I've ever had. The entertainment plug-in box makes the wire war we all struggle with much easier and better looking for your entertainment center's appearance. While no TV is 100% glare proof, this one comes pretty close. Overall, if you're on the fence on which Q series you are going with, I believe the Q90 is worth the extra cost. If you're on the fence regarding 4K vs 8K, yes 8K will eventually be the standard but other technologies will take a while to catch up to the 8K quality and speed. So I would recommend 4K as the suitable upgrade from whatever you are coming from now.

Great up grade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m a big fan of this series. I had the 65” Q9f Before this 65” Q90. I honestly didn’t believe they could make this tv top my old one this much. I watch this tv from all angles and I don’t see any difference in the picture quality. It’s amazing to see a LED tv behave like a CRT tv, it’s real magic. Samsung came a long way with this series in one year, I truly think this is possibly the best tv I have ever owned. The blacks are still deep even in a room with a lot of sun light. I play my Xbox one X and my PS4 on this tv and have absolutely no noticeable lag with the screen refresh rate. Movies on this thing looks superb even though it’s not professionally calibrated just yet. I am fortunate to have this tv especially now that going outside Isn’t optional anymore. Being quarantined with this tv and all these 4K streaming services are helping my wife and 4 kids keep it together. This tv plays a huge role in our Family game nights and movie nights. Well worth the asking price. Good luck and stay safe fellow shoppers.

Great picture and powerful speakers
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the top QLED for Samsung, but priced close to the 8K Samsung. The colors blacks, blues, whites, and reds are spectacular especially when the viewing room is totally dark. However for a small family room you might need to adjust the brightness and contrast to put less strain on the eyes about 15 feet away in a darken room. If you use the advanced settings expect some long minutes to get it to your preference. But, WOW the best thing that happened to my family beside purchasing the 8K Samsung!
