I was debating between this beast and the q90t or the 8k 900 series. I upgraded from a 65" samsung js8500. This samsung qled q90r is excellent and super bright with a bold, vivid picture that really stands out. Set up was a breeze and me and my family immediately started watching 47 Meters Under: Uncaged. We set the picture mode to natural with backlight maxed out and brightness at 1. The detail in the dark underwater sequences is truly breathtaking and the brithness of highlights is the best I've ever seen. Our living room window was open with lots of light coming in and the anti reflective coating works magic. My wife was amazed at how good the screen looked as she was sitting at an angle. The remote will take some getting used to. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Now I just wish sports will resume soon.

The good: My first 4K TV. I waited almost a year for the 2019 models. This Samsung 65" Q90 has absolutely incredible picture. Wife and I both can't believe. Looked at UHD Planet Earth which was mind blowing. Avenger's Endgame UHD on my non-Samsung UHD player was awesome on it. I am an older engineer so of course played with all the settings I could after researching them back and forth. Samsung One Connect box uses all HDMI connections to my 4K HT (make sure you buy the UHD HDMI cables. Just replace them all for future proof!) from your favorite cable store. I use HDMI ARC for my home theater connection. Tried Optical from One Connect but it doesn't support the newest audio formats. Note the TV gets the video direct from the one connect box. It does not pass through the HT. HT handles the audio. We use a national cable service that has given us exceptionally good digital cable service and quality. Have 2 DVRs. Video grade: A++
The not so good - Audio lag issues: Of course you don't see this in the stores. This is after a month of use and endless online research and testing. The latest firmware update (after the box version it came with) made some changes to lag adjustment (went to 0 to 100, defaulted to 50. I set to 0 after 50 was bad). Up until that, some lag and adjustments I could make were as bad as an old dubbed movie. Yes, it is lagging the video, not leading it. Evidently common based on forums and researching but not supposed to happen due to complexities of decoding video taking longer than audio. Since cannot get into the advanced service features, can't adjust that setting for the 0-100 to be based on. Would like to back it off a few more miliseconds. Yes, I have gone back and forth with HT lag adjustments and auto correct also. Yes, I switch between TV sound and HT sound to check synch visually. BTW-the UHD player thru the one connect to the home theater is perfect synch even with original tv firmware.
So now it seems to be tolerable on most shows and will continue to see how it synchs with future firmware updates. Audio grade: C due to lag issues.
Final words: What does someone do that just wants to buy and plugin a TV and it works like a TV? If the picture weren't so outstanding, I probably would have returned and went with a different company. Being an engineer, I at least could get it to be acceptable (for a $2500 tv though???). I would recommend though but with these reservations and knowing you may have to adjust audio lag right out of the box. The picture is worth it since it seems the lag is almost fixed through firmware. Samsung is just not quite there yet on audio which is confusing.

Very well built, durable TV with a heavy stand. The "One Connect" box is awesome. It allows for auxillaries to be connected in a centralized location and keeps things clean. I love the sleek, easy to use and simple remote control. Very ergonomic. I'm not a big videophile but this is the best TV in terms of picture that I ever had. I coupled the TV with the Samsung 7.1.4. channel soundbar with an 8" wireless subwolfer and surround sound speakers. What a awesome combo! Movies during these not so normal time are an awesome experience. The smart TV features allow you to sync your phone, download apps and add bluetooth devices. For my needs this TV has been great and will last for years to come.

I had been searching for a new television for my living room for over a year. I knew I wanted this television six months before I bought it and I was waiting for it to go on sale. One month in and we are very pleased. It was easy to setup but it’s important to understand that it will require two people and follow the instructions to the letter.
One of the many great features is how easy it is to access apps like Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, etc... Another great feature is how easy it is to mirror smart phone images, videos, websites to the television. The picture quality is excellent and the anti-glare feature works very well. All in all this was a great purchase, well worth the six month wait for it to go on sale.

Surprisingly heavy in comparison to me old Samsung LED TV. It's also thicker than me old one.
It came with detailed instructions on how to unbox and handle the TV, so set up was easy but it did take 2 persons. The One Connect box made my wiring setup nice and clean.
Right out of the box the picture was OK, I had to go online to find some alternative settings. I'm using a sound bar so I don't have a opinion on the TV speakers. After I updated my HDMI and Ethernet cables, along with the 4K Apple TV I was completely happy with the picture quality. My only issue with this Purchase is that the remote kept unpairing with the TV and it required multiple attempts to have it reconnect.

This TV is well worth the money. The picture is excellent and the non-glare screen makes video highly visible even in high lighting and from acute viewing angles. The One Connect box makes cord management a snap - just had to run the one, thin cord through the wall behind the TV down to a lower junction box behind the dresser that sits underneath the TV. All the other components are hidden in the dresser and cords run behind the dresser so it's a clean install. The remote control with voice command works great, and having a smart capable TV means I have a minimum of components to connect. Highly recommended!

recently bought the 65" Q90R. the picture quality is just teriffic.
this back lit is so much better than the sidelit. as a matter of fact, my previous Samsung was the well reviewed KS8000, which popped a flash on the bottom of the screen after just 3 years. i just ordered the Q90 and was waiting for delivery when this happened. this purchase couldn't have been more timely. hope the Q90 is worth the extra bucks. you cann't really tell at Best Buy or other stores the way they display the products. initial run-in with Bixby wasn't impressive and deleted the app from my phone and turned it off on the TV.

Provides excellent image quality with strong black levels and shadow detail. Very close to OLED black quality and not having them side-by-side a normal user would not know the difference! The off-axis viewing technology works great without loss of color and the reflections are minimal. The interface is very simple to use and makes it a pleasure to interface with other hardware such as Apple TV, Roku, Cable Box, or DVD player. The interface will suggest movies and shows while also showing what is popular on TV now.

Wow! What a TV! We are very much enjoying our new TV. The picture quality is amazing, and just as great at home as in store. We enjoy the ease of finding the app we need right on the homescreen, and even better, arranging the apps in a preferential order of our choosing. The passive screen scenes are so much fun to use for parties, and we enjoy having a screen that displays our favorite family photo when not in use as a TV. We highly recommend this product.

This is our first big screen TV. We did a lot of research and this was the recommended model. It is not cheap, but well worth it. We are so pleased with the picture quality and colors. We have it in our living room and this TV with the Q80 soundbar we bought with it have turned the room into a home theater. We had Geek squad install both the TV and soundbar since we are seniors and are very glad we did. When they left, everything was ready for us to just enjoy it.

I am very satisfied with the picture quality of this TV. I love the one connect box that has all the connections on it instead of on the TV. This creates only one cable going to the TV. The menu system is easy to navigate and it automatically identifies devices that I connect to the system. I would suggest that you pay for the install of this TV due to it's size.

Still currently living in the honeymoon phase with the q90 but I’m doubtful that it’s going to disappear anytime soon. It is the perfect size for our living room and there are virtually no issues with a glare despite having 6 windows in our living room. The one connect box hooks everything up nice and cleanly. This item was an open box “fair” but you would never be able to tell. The picture quality is awesome.

7 years ago a bought a Sony Bravia. I have enjoyed it over the years, but needed to upgrade to 4K. I was pretty sure I was going to go for an OLED Sony but kept getting stopped by the knowledge that it was going to eventually develop burn in. Also, because of the very shiny surface, lights and windows made daytime viewing difficult. That has been a problem with my old LCD tv. I discovered the Q90 and both of these problems were addressed. because of the full array LED backlighting the black levels were almost as good as the OLED with the added benefit of twice the brightness of an OLED. The surface is made in such a was as to almost completely eliminate reflections from the surface. After I calibrated with the WOW disk, the picture presented is every bit as good as I hoped and a little better than the OLED. Great TV.

I was certain that I was going to get an OLED when I started researching which TV to purchase. However, after extensive research I found the difference in the picture to be negligible. The feature set that came with the Q90 and how it would work with my personal set up gave the Q90 the nod. I have not been disappointed. The picture is fantastic and I love the one connect box. I would recommend this TV.

I went from a 9 year old Samsung Plasma and it was a great TV but not in the league of the Q90R. I looked at OLED but didn't want to be bothered with image burn. I had to dance around that problem with my Plasma. No more.
This TV has killer blacks and is really bright. Stunning picture. Sound is good too. My living has a ton of windows and this TV eliminates screen reflections.
And 4 K from Amazon is amazing.

I went from a 47'' Samsung Smart TV that was 10 years old to this one, I do like this one in some respects, Yes it is bigger, Has some nice improvements, But I think my old 47'' had a good picture, this is just bigger, I paid $600 for my old one, I really don't see a huge difference in picture quality for the $1600 in difference here, Other then it is bigger, Hence the " A bit pricey summary", And yes I have gone thru the "settings", and tried to tweak it to perfection, Just still not worth the difference in money, Sorry, This TV is in my opinion is about $500 overpriced, If someone can prove me wrong, Please do so.

My 55” Samsung finally stopped working, so it was time to upgrade. I went to the store and chose this one. It was not in stock, so it had to be delivered. Once it was delivered I set it up, googled this tv and made a few adjustments. Att U-verse picture is good with this tv, but my Apple 4K tv has a noticeably better picture. Currently if you purchase a Samsung tv, there is a discount to purchase the samsung sound bar at the same time. At the time I purchased this tv, I did not buy the sound bar. I wish I had gone ahead and purchased the Samsung Q90 sound bar. The reviews for this sound bar are mostly positive. I went back to Best Buy to inquire about buying the Q90 sound bar and was told the only way to do it with the bundle discount was to process a return and then buy it again as a bundle and then I could get the bundle discount to purchase the sound bar. That turned out to be more trouble than it was worth. I also called Samsung and was told they could not help either because I didn’t purchase directly from Samsung. You would think it would be easier to give your money away .... lol ... Soooo ... I can’t review the Samsung Q90 sound bar, because I did not purchase it. I am however trying to decide which sound bar to up grade to. I am seriously considering the Bose sound bar, with bass and satellite speakers. I know Bose has a good sound.
