I have been a life long purchaser of Samsung televisions and currently have 6 Samsung TV operating in my home. However unfortunately the most recent purchase is the only Samsung that I have had issues with. The sound and lip movement is never in sink. This is the case with and without the Sonos Arc sound bar. I am actually waiting on a replacement TV as I type this note - I hope the show as we are down to the last 30 minutes of their designated delivery window. This said, I am not giving up on Samsung yet but likely will not be the case if Inhave the same issue with the replacemen TV

      John,

Thank you for purchasing the Q80A TV and sharing your thoughts regarding the image quality. The TV will upscale as best as possible any content sent to it. The closer your content is to 4K, the better the image will look on the screen.

Here are some tips to help improve the picture clarity:
      1) HDMI cables are recommended for optimal HD viewing.
      2) If you have an analog cable box or satellite box, upgrade to a digital cable box or satellite box.
      3) Change the output resolution of your devices, such as digital broadcast receiver, IPTV, and set-top box to UHD or HD.
      4) You can further adjust your sharpness, brightness, contrast, color, and more by going to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings
      5) Choose a Picture Mode by going to Settings > Picture > Picture Mode and choose from Dynamic, Standard, Natural, Movie, or Filmmaker Mode.

If you are uncomfortable with the default brightness settings, you can customize the brightness level between 0 – 50 to your preference. Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Brightness.

Should you ever have questions or need help with TV features, specs, or operation, we are here to help. Call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.

      Irfan,

Thank you for your review of the Q80A TV. We appreciate you sharing your experience with hearing an odd sound coming from your TV. Abnormal sounds will have different causes depending on where the sound originates from. Is the sound coming from your speakers, or is your TV connected to an external audio device like a soundbar? If so, please make sure that the audio cable is connected to the correct audio output connector on the external device.

For antenna or cable connections, check the Signal Information. A low signal level may cause sound distortions. Go to: Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information

If the sound is coming from the back of the TV, the expansion and contraction of the TV's outer casing may cause a popping noise. This does not indicate a product malfunction. The TV is safe to use.

You may also want to run a Sound Test by going to:
Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Sound Test

For further questions or assistance, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.

      Hello Hmmm,

Thank you for your review of Samsung's Q80A TV and sharing the details of your issue with Wi-Fi connectivity. A network issue may be the cause. You may want to go through these steps to check your network connection:

      1) Make sure that no items that can generate electromagnetic interferences are placed between the TV and the wireless/wired access point.

      2) Check if the access point is turned on. If it is on, turn it off, wait 1 or 2 minutes, and then turn it on. Enter the correct password if required.

      3) If the wireless connection fails, connect the TV to the access point via a LAN cable. If the TV can connect to the Internet normally via the wired connection, there might be a problem with the access point. In this case, try using a different access point.

      4) Perform a network test to check if there is a network problem. Press the Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis> Smart Hub Connection Test

      5) Try a cold reboot of your TV by pressing and holding the power button for 5+ seconds until the TV turns off and on again.

Please also be sure that you are always running the latest firmware update. You can check this by going to Settings > Support > Software Update or you can enable Auto Update for convenience.

Should your issue persist, please call Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.

For additional support resources, visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link in the upper right corner of the homepage for:
