During last 5 months our two Samsung TVs died. One was 1 year and 3 months old. Second less than 2 years. Just after warranty ends. 75”and 82’ ; we paid in Best Buy around $8,000 - landed in trash. We ask question by email to Best Buy’s store manager but never get answer. We gave Samsung last chance and bought this one. Wonderful picture. Paired with sound-bar Samsung- Harman/Kardon 80 series makes great improvement to our bedroom. The question is how long it will work.

    Outstanding 8k Display

This being our first foray into 75"+ TV territory, we couldn't be more pleased thus far. This 82" QLED Q800T is serving well in our mixed-media "lab" as both a primary viewing screen and as an 8k computer monitor. Used for video content at 8k (and even 4k), the results are spectacular; like a window out onto some alternate reality. If you feed it 1k/1080p material the scaling artifacts are apparent, yet this should be expected. On the monitor side, while playing 4k/120fps games scaled to 8k, again it defies belief. Got a wonderful piece of kit, thanks Samsung and Best Buy!

    Fantastic Samsung 82" TV

Fantastic Samsung TV. Replaced a good 5-yr-old 75" with this 82" (largest size that fits our space). One of the best 8K TVs available, without getting into the unnecessarily obscenely expensive category for only incremental improvement that few people can even distinguish for double to triple the price ... and, with it being the 2020 model, it is currently so discounted, that no other tv compares in the size and price range -- grab one before they are no longer available. Stunning picture. Great features, including eARC and all streaming apps available. Needed a few picture adjustments when set up - turn off all the automatic light and color adjusting/changing features for best picture. With the 82" model at 90lbs+, you'll need a couple people to help with mounting it up on the wall.

The TV looks great and it upscales very nicely. My only annoyance with the TV is the TV software feels slow at times. You click the remote and have to wait for the TV to catch up to your controls. Pluging in a roku stock fixed it but just wish I could use the TV's software instead of a 3rd party's.

Awesome picture at a decent price. If you’re looking for a TV with a great picture and large size this is it. The 8K and upscaling feature makes watching lower resolution movies a much more pleasant experience. The colors are sharp and bright. The only draw back I noticed is the software is slower than my 2019 Samsung.

Spent 3k for this and it is dead after 3 years. Tbis is the only Samsung tv i have ever had, of about 12, that has failed so early.

We didn’t have any plans of purchasing this tv as we had purchased a 78’ Samsung curve like 4 years ago when we started having issues with the panel. Thankfully we had purchased 5 year insurance and the geek squat team came out to service it and told us the repairs for the tv is more than the actual cost of a new one and also reported the the curve was discontinued and would be replacing it or giving us a full credit. They gave us 100% credit and we picked this 82’ beauty in exchange! All we had to pay for was to insure the new one. The quality of the tv is great and happy with Best Buy’s response regarding getting us an exchange promptly, never had an insurance pay 100% back for a product. I definitely recommend purchasing the insurance, I know it’s a couple of hundreds when you make a big purchase, but it saved us tons!

The Perfect TV for someone who is a serious gamer

Absolutely beautiful image and I want to talk a little about 4K versus 8K here. Most of you may be wondering why do I need an 8K TV versus 4K. Let me explain it this way. I went from an 86" 4K to this 82" 8K. What I have noticed is the sweet max for 4K is around the 67-72" range. Once you get above that, you are stretching those same 3840 pixels across such a large screen, you start introducing pixilation. The 8K is something you should serious consider if you are in the 70" and above space. I noticed playing Xbox Series X that all of the text looked so much clearer on the screen and in my games. This upscaling of 4K to 8K makes small text on a large screen really crisp. However, if you are not a gamer, I don't see much of benefit of going from 4K to 8K at this time. You won't really see too much of a benefit since 4K images upscaled to 8K for movies is harder to notice the difference than when we went from HD to UHD (4K).

The images ,sound and detail are all great. Experience games on another level and feel like you are actually in the game world. We were always waiting to get an 8k TV and when we saw this go on sale we decided to finally get it. Everything is great so far. Just get a little help when you are setting it up because it’s a little heavy for one person.

Beautiful TV. However if the cable channel you are watching doesn't have a 'full' bandwidth signal the upscaling is not so great. Going through all my U-verse cable HD channels revealed some channels look much than others. Over-the-air broadcasts of local stations with an external antenna look great, much better than the cable-fed locals. Waiting for 8k source material to feed this thing: 8k DVD player and discs and potential cable/streaming channels. At least I hope I'm somewhat future-proofed. Don't like that you can't dial up a cable music channel and look at the 'Ambient' feature at the same time.

The picture quality is so crisp and clear. The colors are so vivid and brilliant. Sound could be better, but if connected to a surround sound system it will bring out the TV's features. I just wish there were more 8K shows which would make the TV worth the money.

Another great Samsung TV from BestBuy - My second big TV in 5 years. The 8K is outrageous! Everyone comments and wishes they owned this baby. And if it couldn’t be any sweeter … I had the Geeks install and program the set with my Bose system. RAD! A grand slam: Samsung, BestBuy + GeekGuys!
