The Samsung 850 Evo is a fanstastic HDD replacement. I bought it to replace the HDD in my Lenovo Laptop. My laptop runs much faster than it did before. I also have a second one of these SSDs in my desktop that I had bought previously (I have had it in use for about a year), and it has held up quite well. I use the SSD in my desktop to store all my steam games, all of which load much faster than when I had them on my old HDD. If price is a concern for you, then I would wait to purchase until a sales event / Black Friday / Cyber Monday deal is happening. Otherwise, buy away! Great SSD, and I would definitely buy another!

Dirt fast, reliable, and unlike their phones it won't blow up. Cloned my laptop and it's on speed. Sure it was pricey but what an upgrade. Got the green, get the drive.

The included software allowed for easy cloning of my existing hard drive and made the transition seamless. New hard drive boots quickly and has been reliable so far.

I install it onto a Intel Core i7 5930K 3.5 GHz Six-Core Computer without any issues. The RAPID (cache) mode in Samsung Magician software improves overall system performance with caching SSD data onto main memory.

This SSD totally transformed my laptop. Boot times have fallen to like 45 seconds from power on to desktop. This upgrade was worth every penny.

Absolutely worth every penny spent. If you have the money to spend on the 1TB version to completely replace your existing hard-drive, do so. Mechanical spinning hard-drives are already obsolete and going the way of the old zip-drives from the 1990s. In 10 years people will be amazed that computers used to have spinning metal disks in them to store data. The performance gain is absolutely incredible. Samsung's EVO line is considered the market leader, which is a good thing for support. Stop waffling and ditch your old hard-drive, life is too short to suffer with a maddeningly slow computer.

The Samsung 850 Evo is simply the best SSD for personal, consumer or prosumer use. Read/write speeds are around 500MB/s. Backed by Samsung warranty. I would definitely buy again with confidence and highly recommend the Samsung Evo 850 series.

This is so great for boot times, reliability and read and write speeds. its great for gaming and the prices have come down on these to a reasonable price.

Fast, superior, and better than your standard HDD. I recommend getting these as your first time purchase or go for the SSD (PRO) for blazing speeds.

In the unlikely event that you stumbled upon this review without reading any other review of this solid state drive, then I will tell you what almost every other web review will tell you - this drive is about as good as it gets for SATA solid state drives in 2016. Of course, I have not tried many other Solid State Drives for myself so I can only say that this little guy is fast. The hard drive contained within most computers is the slowest piece of the puzzle. This SSD makes that puzzle piece a whole lot speedier. Throw in a 5 year warranty, and we have a winner.

I purchased this SSD to swap out a primary drive on a laptop that I owned. However, I wound up changing laptops and just had this sitting around. So, I threw this drive in a USB 3.0 enclosure and now use it as quick/scrub storage for various video recording, video editing, and file transfer. This is a very speedy drive and has worked well for me without issue. I benchmarked this drive in an Insignia enclosure connected to a Razer Blade 2017 laptop. The drive's test results were 237-252 MB/s sequential read speeds and 216-233 MB/s sequential write speeds.

I bought this to replace the HDD that comes with Lenovo Y40. I felt the machine was not as fast as I expected and decided to get this SSD. All SSDs are awesome compared to spinning disc hard drives. This SSD is awesome compared to other SSDs. I've used many. I have a few older OCZ Agility 3 ssd drives in my "Main rig" in raid 0 and they're not as fast as this drive. While amazingly cool, lightweight and fast, it's not 100% necessary for most users. There's a good cost premium for this drive, but if you are a performance geek, it's worth EVERY PENNY.

This Solid state drive is quite good, I replaced this in my Mac book and the performance of Mac book has gone up three times almost. No sound.

This SSD is so easy to install and I was back up and running within a couple of hours. Replaced an older failing standard hard drive in a 13-inch MacBook Pro. Installed the new OS and then used Apple's Migration Assistant. Perfect!

This is a great purchase. It is easy to install and once it is installed it works like a charm. Improve the speed of the computer dramatically.
