I have a stack of laptops and I typically replace 2-3 of them every 2-3 years. I was at the point of buying two new laptops to replace my aging Lenovos. After upgrading RAM from 8bm to 16mb, the Lenovos just couldn't keep up. I was about to drop $2-3k on a couple of new machines, and I was sickened by the thought. I decided to swap out my aging hdd with an ssd. Wow. Just...wow! Ladies and gents, you simply HAVE to do this. I'm somewhat computer savvy, but I always get a little nervous when I crack open the case. On a side note, my Lenovos don't have dedicated removable hard drive panels, so I have to remove the entire bottom shell along with the dvd drive and the keyboard...such a pain! Regardless, I used the Apricorn Upgrade Suite, also sold at BB, and followed the simple directions to copy my hdd to the ssd. After easily removing the old hard drive and snapping in the hdd I'm happy to report that my laptop fired up in record speed and it seems to have helped with my nagging 100% disk problem that brought the old hdd to a halt. Admittedly, I've only had it up and running for an hour, but I've restarted a few times just for fun and I'm amazed at the speed difference. It's not even close. I bought at Best Buy, because they always treat me right. They happily matched BH Photo's sale price on the exact 1TB ssd and this saved me $30 without any hassle. I buy a lot of stuff from BB...I mean a lot, and this is literally the first review that I've ever written. I always depend upon user reviews, so I felt compelled to finally contribute to the community. Don't hesitate to make this upgrade. It may be the very thing that saves your old laptop and gives it a few more years of useful operation. My next move is to buy a few more ssd's so that I can breathe new life in my old paperweight machines that I've been cursing for the past few years. Good luck!

Installed in Samsumg Spin 7 back in March. Cloned exact size of non SSD drive. No issues up until... It crashed in August. It wouldn't allow access to Windows 10 or any software. Wouldn't allow me to use backup drive to boot system. Hopefully, I can get money back.

Unfortunately and surprisinly the Samsung - 850 EVO 1TB Internal Sata III Solid State Drive - Black, I bought at Best Buy, never worked at all (dead) since I open the package and it must be replaced.

I purchased this SSD to upgrade my late 2011 macbook pro. I am amazed at the instant performance increase. I downloaded Carbon Copy Cloner to migrate my data. Extremely simple app to use. After completing the conversion, I installed Blackmagic Speed Disk Test from the app store to put it to the test. I am averaging 487MB/s write and 508MB/s read. Not quite the estimates Samsung claims, but extremely satisfied with these results. Probably can achieve the 520MB/s write and 540MB/s read on a PC using Samsung's Magician software. Unfortunately this is not available for mac. Highly recommend this SSD.

The product and several others like on the shelf, were defective. Returned product. No real good reason why the product failed..

This was for my late 2012 27" iMac. The drive went belly up on me right in the middle of a project. Lucky I'm nuts about backing up. Anyways, installed the drive (not fun on an iMac) and the machine was back up, fully restored by the next day. I'm in the design business. I run all Adobe software, heavy video work, thousands of fonts... You get the idea. Booting this machine took between 4 and 6 minutes from power to full ready. I rarely turned it off because of it. With this drive I'm at under 20 seconds from power to full ready. Don't think I have a single app that takes longer than 5 seconds to open. Very happy, though there is something a little dirty about having a part from Apple's mortal enemy living inside my machine. LOL!

Much faster than my old school hard drive, installed easy on an iMac. So far no issues and significantly faster boot times and program load time. The online price was competitive and the best deal overall.

I put this drive into a 3-4 year old computer which had a traditional 7200 RPM hard drive. My computer started to boot up faster than ever (less than 20 seconds).

When I needed some fast internal storage, I looked first at Samsung. This ssd was an exceptional value, very easy to install and has performed well.

I bought one of these to upgrade my laptop and was so impressed at how increased the overall speed that I bought two more for desktop!

I purchased this drive to compliment the Samsung M.2 500GB drive and it is fantastic! Once I downloaded and updated my Samsung Magic to the latest version, the performance level of my drive increased significantly. I suggest you manually download the software update if you have Windows 10 because the Samsung Magic software that comes with the drive will not (at least for me) update to the latest version and you will NOT get the performance boost.

Purchased this to add some speed to my 5 year old laptop and works like a charm.

The SSD was very easy to install. The Samsung migraton software also worked well.

Needed ssd with lots of memory. Laptop upgrade was a breeze and faster now.
