Customers value the large capacity, excellent cleaning performance, and quiet operation of the activewash 5.2 Cu. Ft. 15-Cycle Steam Top-Loading Washer. They also find it easy to use and appreciate its many features. However, some customers have noted that the drum depth is excessive, and the spin cycle could be improved. Concerns have also been raised regarding the washer's durability and tendency to become unbalanced.

Purchased a Samsung washer/dryer set 2yrs ago. Washer was recalled, and replaced. Now new washer malfunctioning, made it in two days under warranty after 7phones calls. Two year old dryer also malfunctioning. Three products all malfunctioning within two years. No one has time to deal with phone calls and repair appts. Will never buy another Samsung appliance again.

Bought this to replace recalled Samsung washer. Works well but normal loads take far longer than the time that is displayed.

This was the replacement to the recall washing machine. Other than having a recall we love it.

I purchased this washer 30 days ago and wanted to use it before I did a review. I read the others and have some comments. I would not call it a quiet washer if you are doing small loads. The tub is stainless steel so the water filling can be louder with a small load. The Spin is very quiet. Overall it is much quieter than my Siemens Front load which was terribly loud. It washes very well and is fast and efficient. Do read the instructions so you understand some oddities in its performance such as spending time adjusting the tub to balance the load for up to 5 minutes before it starts running. The internal sink is helpful if you have no sink in your laundry room. Saves running with wet hand wash into the laundry room to spin them down or place them in the dryer. The tub is very deep and not for a short person to reach.

Samsung electronics in general I think has pushed quality to the back of the line. I have the Samsung Washer and Dryer matching set and both have been a pain to deal with. First this washer is LOUD, like jet engine loud, no wonder they explode. If your washer is inside your house this is not the one for you. Also, for the price of this washer you would think it could work miracles. Wrong, this washer is no better than a $400 whirlpool and 100x as loud. Do not buy Samsung electronics anymore, they have made very poor quality decisions.

I purchased this machine to replace a Samsung washer that was recalled due to exploding issues. 3 weeks ago (4 years later) this machine stopped mid cycle and the lid froze shut. I waited for 2 weeks for a repair to happen. In the meantime all the towels started smelling up the house like a backed up sewer. They finally came and everything was wrong including the main board. The repair person climbed over my dryer and dented the top of it. I had to throw away all my towels and replaced them. I'm really not happy with any Samsung appliances now. I'll get rid of them as they break, which is OFTEN.

This is the second of two machines. The first was under a safety recall. This review is for the machine shown here. The tub would not engage. Low spin, ineffective wash cycles, trapped socks inside the drum... a total disaster!! Samsung sent a tech to repair no less than 7 times replacing every part including the drum to no avail. Finally after nearly 2 months of not being able to wash clothes and countless denials, Samsung agreed to replace the machine.

Absolutely the best washing machine I've ever had.

Let me start out by saying I owned the previous model Samsung washing machine, which was recalled. I was quite disappointed that I had spent so much money on an appliance that was virtually worthless. I took advantage of the Samsung rebate program for my old washer and purchased this one at a very good price from Best Buy. So down to the nitty gritty..... PROS: 1.) This machine is so quiet I have to peek into the laundry room to see if the load is done. Our laundry room wall is adjacent to the living room/family rooms, so I could hear the old one terribly through the wall. 2.) We are a family of 3, two adults and a toddler....and a dog. I have a hard time filling the washing basin for one load of like colored clothes! I walk around the house grabbing towels, dish rags, shoes...whatever I can to fill the HUGE tub!!!! (Yes, geez...you have to reach in there quite a ways to get the clothes out like some said, but hello....it's a LARGE capacity washer, deal with it!!!! 3.) The multi function operation. No guessing here on what temp to set it at or anything! Just dial it to the option that matches your clothes and DONE! 4.) The steam function. I don't think my sheets have felt, smelt or have ever been so clean! The hot temp with the steam feature is awesome! 5.) Although this machine is tall, it is more narrow than the last one I had. This makes it nice as I have some things on the wall that the other washer lid would hit...this one doesn't even go near them! 6.) The pre-wash basin. Ok, so I have only used it once....but it was pretty cool not having that white hand wash sweater soaking in the guest bath!!!! I like the option of soaking it in the washer.... So, yes, like anything in life, there are cons..... CONS: 1.) The fill reservoir is slightly obstructed by the pre-wash basin. But, I use Tide Pods....so that doesn't effect me. I had a friend come over to wash a comforter because it did not fit in her washer and she brought over her Costco sized, last for 10 months bottle of detergent...and it was hard for her to pour the stuff in...Doesn't effect me so I don't care, but you might! 2.) Yeah, so I sat here for a good 5 minutes and can't think of anything else that I don't like about this washer. Buy it. You won't regret it....

I purchased this machine along with a dryer about a month ago. My first brand new machine! And it's HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. However, I was expecting a better clean for spending so much money. Every other load of laundry has items that seem to not clean as well as they did in my old cruddy machine. I've tried reducing the amount of items I put in at once and it didn't change the clean. So a little disappointed in that. I have two young children and I got this specific machine for the size and sink. The sink is great for washing crud out of clothes or soaking the unmentionables and you can do 2 loads in 1. If you're pregnant it's too deep to reach the bottom unless you're over 6 feet tall. If you're not pregnant, stop complaining that it's too deep because you knew the size when you bought it. It has a catchy little song when it's finished, I'll whistle it through out the day. All in all it was a good purchase, I'm going to switch up the soap and see if that helps the clean.

In 2015 I purchased a new Sam Sung washer. There was a recall so I did all the paper work and got a rebate and purchased another one. As of right now I'm waiting for the service gentleman to arrive and service mine right now. Not working. If it cant be fixed I will NEVER purchase another Sam Sung of any kind appliance. I will not recommend this product to anyone.

Also bought a second upstairs W&D (8700 series) Nice compact units but the washer was very loud during the rinse cycle. BB said they would replace it but they brought out the wrong machine. Been waiting three weeks now - what a messed up company - very poor customer service. Samsung is not a quality supplier. mgw

Purchased this unit to replace a previously purchased recalled Samsung unit. After 15 months the washer turns itself off and will not turn back on and has an electronic or wiring issue which will cost at least $200 to repair. No more Samsung appliances for us. Disappointed!!!!!
