Customers value the large capacity, excellent cleaning performance, and quiet operation of the activewash 5.2 Cu. Ft. 15-Cycle Steam Top-Loading Washer. They also find it easy to use and appreciate its many features. However, some customers have noted that the drum depth is excessive, and the spin cycle could be improved. Very nice looking. It works very well while it works, but the quality is not the best. I think samsung should stick to phones and TVs, washer machines, not so much. That is my experience though

I have always been a big fan of Samsung products but the washer and dryer that I recently purchased are horrible!
The washer doesn't get the clothes clean... not enough agitation or water!
Dryer is very, very loud!!!
Would not recommend!!!

Too deep and obnoxious "wash sink"

I have to stand on my tippy toes to barely reach the bottom of this washer. The mini "sink" attached to the lid is in the way of the soap dispenser tray. I wish it was removable for those that don't want it... but you are stuck with it.

Don't waste your time or money, took a month to get to me then once it was installed the first wash it was making loud clanking noises. Buy a front load and be happier.

I've had this washer serviced 4 times, i'm currently on hold for the 5th call. waste of money, and time. so disappointed. If it were an option I would give it zero stars.

tub too deep

I have mixed feelings about this machine so far. Weve had it about two weeks now and Ive been able to get all the comforters in the house washed because of the incredibly large tub. However for retrieving regular items you have to get a step stool and climb into the tub. I also feel guilty about doing smaller loads. We are keeping it but will be getting a grabber thing to make retrieving clothes easier. This is too much machine for smaller loads. I do like the separate drain sink on top for prewashing or handwashing delicates.

Great if you are tall

We read the reviews prior to purchasing but not one mentioned that the wash tub is very deep. So deep in fact, that I at 5'6" needed a step ladder to reach to the bottom where all the socks and stuff reside. Needless to say we returned it. However, if you are tall this is an excellent product. I only give it 4 stars because of the height issue. Clothes were very clean. Cycles are long but that seems to be the norm nowadays.

Fabulous High Efficiency Washer

We've had this washer for about a month and I am so happy with
1. the size - It's HUGE! I can do three times as much laundry as I could have with my old set.
2. It's fast - a huge load is complete in just over an hour. I love being able to set the soil level and choose the options.
3. Efficiency -Hard to believe the clothes can be clean using such a small amount of water. You can also set it to use more water if you think it needs more/don't care about efficiency
I didn't like the sink, I kept hitting my head on it when I unloaded the washer. It was easy to remove.

Best Washer

I read all the reviews and checked Consumer Reports before I decided on a new washer. I have had it a week and I tried to test out every feature I could with the first round of laundry. Even a very fluffy king size comforter fits in this thing and got it clean. I love everything about this washer. The sink feature is wonderful for people like me who only have a laundry closet. I don't know about the long term yet, but will follow up if anything changes.

Nice until it stops working

Yes, it is a really large capacity and it’s quiet too. It works well until it just stops working. The repair estimates were more than buying a new washing machine. Furthermore, the motor isn’t even manufactured anymore – leaving me no choice but to buy a new washer after just three years of use. This machine was expensive and now it needs to be replaced. Don’t buy it. It’s not built to last.

My dream washing machine

I am thrilled with my new washing machine. Clothes are super clean, tub size is awesome - requiring fewer loads in a week. I love the self-cleaning cycle, too. I haven't tried the built-in sink yet, but I have no doubt that it is awesome, too. I have to say that the tub is REALLY deep, and I have to stand on my toes to reach the bottom. But I am totally happy that I picked this model.

I WISH I WAS A LITTLE BIT TALLER

Definitely not for short people. Love the color, love the simplicity of the technology and very easy to use. But every time I enter the laundry room I am intimidated by the size. I don't reach the laundry at the bottom of the washer. I basically have to climb inside to reach but then bump my head on the built in sink. The detergent drawer is also very uncomfortable to put the detergent in due to the built in sink. It's an ackward design

I had a Samsung Front loader that did a great job but I had a problem with the mildew smell which is common to front loaders. The next best choice was a top loader-no agitator. I read the good reviews but didn't see anything about the size/ design until I experienced the problem myself. The biggest problem is I am 5'1 and there is no way I will ever be able to reach the clothes from the bottom without aid. I use a stool and a grabber, my Husband is 5'10 and still needs the stool if there's just a rogue sock down there. I have also noticed that the dirt doesn't seem to leave the tub. There is sand and or dog hair that just lays there. I can wipe it out when it dries if I crawl inside or as someone else said vacuum it. I just have to tell myself..."its clean hair /sand". Too much money to put up with these design flaws, I should have sent it right back, but too many things were going on at the time of purchase to take the time to return and now its too late. On the up side, my husband uses this anecdote of me face down in the wash tub in his classes when discussing the draw-back to buying site-unseen.

Great Design & Look for a Washer

We had to replace our old Samsung front load machine. After comparing several machines, this one stood out above the rest. The tub capacity is GREAT. We can hold much more than the front load, which cut down on the number of loads & time it took to finish the laundry.

Excellent Samsung Washer

This has been an excellent purchase for us. Does not vibrate too much. Adjustable leveling wheels are nothing special. The panel had to be replaced once due to a recall but they came out it was simple. Depending on your height, may need to really reach down to get the wet clothes from the bottom as it a deep washer to fit a large amount of clothes.

Washer for a tall person

I recently bought this washer after weeks of reading reviews on all front and top loaders/ agitators vs non agitators. It had the best reviews so I purchased. I have only washed a few loads and feel the outcome is good but not great. The washer drum is HUGE! Although I don't know why because the water will only fill about a third of it at the most. I did a large load on normal and some pants came out of the washer with dry spots. I need to try other settings to see if I get a better outcome. I do know that if you are short this washer is NOT for you! I am 5'6" and can just BARELY reach the clothes in the bottom. I have to literally hang over the front of the washer to get the clothes out. Samsung needs to design a built in pull out step! The pre-soak tray in the lid hangs over the detergent/softener dispenser and prevents you from using large detergent bottles to fill the dispenser. You have to use the lid from the detergent bottle or another cup for the liquid detergent.

Broke after 7 months/Samsung Customer Service Poor

Bought this machine on July 2015, it stopped working on February 2016. Called Samsung Customer Service, after 3 calls where they had me do all the troubleshooting I had already done from the manual they sent a technician out, he replaced everything inside (motor, transmission, etc.) and the machine still does not work. Called Samsung 3 more times and basically I'm being told I have to start all over and wait 24-48 hours to get another technician to come out. Would not recommend this to any one looking for a reliable durable machine.
