This was a very inexpensive replacement for a DVD player that was stolen. The up-conversion quality is excellent. I have a 50 inch 1080p TV, and I cannot really tell the difference from Blu-Ray in must DVD viewing, especially in more recent movies and restored classics. I got it on sale so it was a super great deal and it performs flawlessly so far. I would definitely recommend this DVD player.

Great player form the price, good picture and sound. Had a problem with the remote. After 3 weeks about half of the functions stopped working. I took it back to BEST BUY for replacement or repair and was told no replacement, repair or refunds after 15 days, that I would have to contact Samsung.......WOW......less than a month old and I'm on my own, very poor customer service. I did not purchase additional warranty from Best Buy as the unit was only $40. Luckily Samsung told me how to reset the remote, now it is working fine. Samsung gets 4 stars, Best Buy gets 1.

I bought the DVR to place in my son's room so that he could watch his educational and cartoon movies. It's simple and easy to use. I can play all of his movies. I love Samsung products and it works great with his Samsung TV. For the price paid and the use it's getting it still is great, isn't loud and I would recommend this to a friend.

This DVD player presents a great picture but is very slow to respond to on/off and open/close commands from the remote. The player's drawer makes a rattling sound when it opens, which sounds a little cheap. This being said, the player works well and I would probably buy another for the price.

The DVD player meets all expectations. We needed a plain, but more current, DVD player to work with the new smart TV that was both easy to connect and easily compatible with the TV.

If I could give this dvd player 4.5 stars I would. It does everything it's supposed to do and has a very nice picture on my Samsung flat screen. If you don't already have a smart tv then this player can provide the missing apps. Set up is easy. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was due to some motor noise. While playing a movie you can hear the player make a faint humming sound. At normal volume and above you won't notice a thing. This is the second one of this exact player that I have purchased this year. Both do it right out of the box, but I assure you I would not have purchased a second one if it was unbearable. I believe I remember reading about this when I purchased the first one. For the money and name brand I would recommend it.

The upscaling to 4k is amazing. Regular DVD's are so clear. The 7.1 surround sound playback makes my basement sound a lot like a theater. Makes watching movies so much better.

This is my second time purchasing this model Samsung DVD player after using one at my permanent home for a couple years now. I decided to purchase the same one for a summer home due to its reliability, small footprint and ease-of-use. I would definitely buy this same model if I need another one in the future!

I bought this while back home for my Mom. She is older and needed something very easy to operate, and would function without issues. She's had this for a couple months now, it works every time, and never has issues. Cheap and perfect for the application I needed.

I had three dvd's in mind I compared prices as well as quality and what each DVD had. This was the best fit for me. I've had no problems with it. Setting it up was easy five minutes and we've been watching movies everyday we love our purchase.

This is a good basic DVD player at a reasonable price. The upconversion to 1080p works well through the HDMI output to my TV, as does the digital coax audio connection to my receiver. Only negatives compared to other players I have owned are that the set-up menus are far from intuitive and the sparse owners guide is nearly worthless. It meets my needs just fine though, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

I was very pleased because my old tv has no hdmi connection.but once I hooked it up & played a dvd movie I was really impressed on how clear the sight & sound was.i would highly recommend this.

The DVD player suits our needs of a compact player that fits under and plugs into a Smart TV. The player is a bit noisy, but nothing that has bothered me while viewing a movie. Works great; excellent price!

This is a great DVD player. It hooks up very easily to your television which is important for those who are not technical geeks. It's very easy to use. I also like the small sleek feature so it doesn't take up a lot of room.
