I got this SIII a month ago. I know that samsung already came out with the S4 but since the price dropped significally on this phone I got curious and thought to check it out since I've heard a lot of great things from others. My wife has the iPhone 5 so I had the chance to compare them side by side. Features on this phone are way better such as the camera, the screen size, and the straight forward adding of music collection I have is as simple as copy and pasting into the music folder. No need to go through i Tunes. The only drawback is the build quality... Samsung should have avoided using plastic in the back.

I got this as my 2 year upgrade and I am so pleased. My other option was the iPhone 4s. This phone is far superior in every way. It's gorgeous, insanely fast, easy to use. The camera is absolutely*sick*. My pictures are better than the ones on my camera. They are so clear. I posted one with this review
The onludownside was the size. It was huge at first but after about a week, I acclimated. The size can make texting funky if you don't pay attention.

I had been sitting on my upgrade for several months while waiting to see what SGS4 was gonna be ... and SGS3 ( at only $50 ) was the better option IMHO because it can do pretty much everything the SGS4 can at a cheaper upgrade price. I actually got mine as a Father's Day gift and am really impressed with everything about this phone. ( my previous phone was the Samsung Epic4G , which was a great phone in it's own right ) I don't think anyone will be disappointed with this phone ( especially at this price ).

Love, love, love this phone. So easy to use. Practical foolproof. Would never go back to my old BlackBerry 9330. Now I see it was like using 2 cans & a string.

I upgraded from the Motorola Droid X and was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use and connectivity of the Galaxy SIII. Furthermore, the screen is larger and has better definition. Lastly, the phone has great speed and ample memory. In addition, there is room to increase memory by adding a micro SD card.

This is my first Smart phone and I don't have any comparisons to do but I am completely satisfied with it. Excellent picture and sound quality, easy to use and upload apps, right size. Battery life is short but I keep track of it from battery icon and charge it right away before I completely drain it. It works for me.

Upgraded from HTC One. This is a big phone but thin enough to be unnoticeable in the pocket. Jelly Bean upgrade was smooth. Picture and sound quality are fantastic. Camera is great; HDR setting is nice feature to have on phone. Battery life could be better but is manageable. Body seems a little fragile. Definitely get a case for this guy.
Got this for $99 and would get more if the rest of the family were eligible for upgrades For you Thanksgiving and Black Friday shoppers, this is a steal at $49.

I purchased this right before the S4 came out, so it was on sale as the store tried to sell off all their stock in preparation for the new phones. It does its job. I had an HTC Incredible before this that I absolutely hated by the end, and this has been a dream compared to it. It starts apps quickly and runs them flawlessly. It will overheat if you're using it in a hot place (like sitting outside at lunch in the sun) and stop working properly until it cools down so watch out for that. Haven't had any problems with it yet. The call quality is mixed, but that's a reflection more on the service provider than the phone itself. It's got a nice big screen, easy to see everything without straining. The screen size and the 4G (when you can get it) will drain your battery pretty quick if you're not careful. Learn how to change the settings so you can maximize battery life. I have to charge at least once a day, more if I'm using it a lot. Overall I'm quite happy with my purchase.

I love this phone. I bought it right before the S 4 is due out. But have no regrets at all. Love the superfast processor, clear, big screen, easy to use. I have had it about a month and still learning little tricks I didn't know were there for organizing windows etc...Battery life is good, Sound quality is great, Camera take great photos as well as video, even in low light. Plenty of room for apps with 16gb built in. Overall one of the best purchases I have made in years.

We waited forever to decide which phone to get, this or the new Iphone and made a great choice. Love the size of the screen and without the battery pack cover, very slim and light. With the battery pack cover, great long life, and fits in husband's pocket but not wife's. It has more apps than we imagined and hubby loves the ability to watch TV on it and get sports play by play. What we don't like is still figuring out how to avoid text supplying the words. How do you go from OK to LOOK? graphics are clear, sound is good.
The worst thing so far is our timing. If we'd waited two days we could have gotten a $100 gift card with it, or waited a couple weeks and gotten it cheaper. Oh well...

NEGATIVES:
There are 2 major issues I have with this is phone: 1)For most of my outgoing calls, people are unable to hear me which sucks. My guess is that Samsung assumes that everyone has replaced calls with texts so they focused on that aspect. 2)The battery tends to start decreasing rather quickly (about 15 mins after removing it from the charger). I must add though, that in spite of that, it still lasts throughout the day.
POSITIVES:
1) I was really hesitant about letting go of my slide-out keyboard but the touch-screen has proven to be rather easy & convenient to use.
2) The camera quality is absolutely amazing and the available effects make for a great way to pass time.
3) I'm a planner and the new Calender set-up is awesome...from the variety of "reminder options" to the general set-up, I have been pleasantly pleased.
4) It's sleek and gorgeous!

I previously had the EVO and was very satisfied with the phone after putting an extended battery in it. It's major drawback was not enough memory and even with a memory card, many of my apps and programs would fill up the phone.
S3 16GB to the rescue, or so I thought... I love the fact that it's 16GB before the sim card and it has a decent camera. The problem is in the reception... it pretty much sucks and even when I'm home and/or well within range of the cell towers, I'll too often get Roaming/Data messages. It also switches back and forth between 3/4G, but not when I need it to. And when I'm in certain work buildings, I'll get no service at all. The HTC never had a service problem.
As for the battery, if you don't use the phone it lasts just as advertised, however, the more you use the phone, the battery life is way short... I used the phone for several work activities recently and the battery lasted only 4 hours before I had to recharge it.
Also, if you are an existing user like me (12 years with Sprint), beware the upgrade and activation charges. I was told by the phone salesperson that the activation charge would be waived by calling Sprint, but an upgrade charge was never mentioned. The end result is after two weeks of disputing the charges of both an upgrade and activation, Sprint finally relented and removed one of the charges and also gave me a $15 credit. I'm just saying beware of those charges.
Overall the phone promises much and gives it in most areas... beware of the battery and most important beware of the reception issues. Oh, I live in San Antonio, not in the outskirts.

This is my first smart phone and I chose it over the I Phone because of the good reviews. Overall I love the phone. It is user friendly, great size, takes great pictures. The only thing I have found that I do not like is that several times it has dropped my call and then the screen goes black and I cannot get it back. This is frustrating. I love the phone but wish this feature could be fixed.

Excellent device. Android OS is fast and stable. Screen size is impressive and picture quality is great. Camera takes good quality pictures for a fixed lens camera. Battery is removable and memory is expandable, both these features are a plus. Might not be the newest phone on the market but still one of the best.

This is my second Andoid smartphone, and pretty much everything that was bad about the old one (Android 2) has been fixed in Android 4! The memory problems are gone. App performance is fantastic. The phone moves seemlessly from the Sprint network to wi-fi. Email and calendar work great. I sync with my work email and 3 personal accounts and have zero problems. Thought I would miss the slide-out keyboard on my old phone, but Swipe on-screen keying is fast once you get the hang of it. The mp3 player app sounds great, and decent sounding earbuds are included. Camera quality is very good. It's nice to be able to add micro SD storage. I tend to hang on to phones for awhile, so it's important to me to be able to replace the battery if needed. This phone meets all my forseeable needs and deserves the high ratings it gets.
