Not terribly impressed by this device

Not clear if it's because Samsung has introduced updates into the Android OS on this or if it's the HW itself but the on/off button doesn't seem to always respond, plugging a headset into the 1/8 jack doesn't disable the onboard speakers and the sound volume up/down buttons don't seem to be obeyed when playing videos in Google or YouTube.
