Great for step counts, sleep habits, heart rate, exercise, notifications, and more. I still love it even though I have to charge it every 2-3 days.

We bought this as a gift for our father who likes to walk. He has really enjoyed syncing his Samsung Galaxy S5 to the Gear Fit and pushing himself. He's yet to report any details about some of the other features, but has enjoyed being able to put his smartphone away on walks and easily see his progress, decline calls, and read texts.

This watch is great and easy to use. I didn't need or want to be able to answer calls from my watch. However you can see who is calling and send a quick message from your watch. Also, giving me the ability to track my heart rate, steps and cycling every day. Not to mention the added bonus of tracking my sleep as well.

Like other reviews online have pointed out the software is a bit useless and clunky and you need to use two separate apps to access the basic functionality they provide. Good thing I use Loseit to manage my health and just need to copy over the steps and sleep hours daily. IMHO Samsung should purchase a company like Loseit and write the api's to connect their devices while supporting others as well. The hardware is quite attractive and looks awesome. I did turn off the wake up gesture as it was turning on quite a bit just moving around and want to preserve battery life. I also turned off the screen from lighting up during notifications for battery savings as well. I don't mind pushing the power button and found it easily accessible. However my wife with long nails had issues with it's location and pressing it easily. Samsung needs to get it's act in order IMHO with this and likely other things. The manual has grammatical errors in it, setup would be difficult for a novice (getting apps from third parties, hard to follow directions, etc.). It was a good thing I had read some reviews and knew kind of what to expect. Another issue was trying to register the product on Samsung's website. You cannot complete the registration without entering a HEX/MEI, well the only problem is it does not have one! I called support (and on the support site this product not even listed yet) and was told that yes there is no HEX/MEI number. I suggested they update their site and use serial number but after some nonsensical reasoning from a far away place I hung up in frustration... Overall and it is only my first full day I really like the FIT. It is bright, clear, attractive and I'm not a hardcore runner, etc. so it meets my needs very well and has replaced my fitbit FLEX.

The band does exactly what it says. It keeps track of your daily movement and also will track your heart rate if you start an activity. It's user friendly and a quick learn. My only complaints are the life of the battery, 2 to 3 days depending on activity and notifications. If warm water gets on it, it reacts as if you're touching it. Sometimes this is annoying. Lastly if you're looking to monitor your sleep cycles this may not be the band for you. While it does monitor sleep it's not as accurate as other bands I've had.

Bought the Gear Fit device for my wife after I purchased the Gear 2 watch and fell in love with it - My wife also fell in love with her Gear Fit and uses it daily mainly to keep track of her pedometer - - having the heart rate feature and phone call/text msg notification is just an added bonus that she equally enjoys!

I've been looking for a fitness band that would replace another band that I have that doesn't have a clock on it. If I'm going to wear something 24/7 I really would like it to at least tell time. So, I picked up the Gear Fit and tried it out (and have since returned it). I love that: the screen is touch screen and is brilliantly clear - I could snooze my alarm on my phone (which is my alarm clock) right from the watch (it vibrates when alarms go off) and a number of other phone-synced options - the heart rate monitor is quite accurate. What I didn't love was that the pedometer over-calculated my number of steps, the data from the heart rate monitor didn't translate into calories burned correctly because unless you're doing one of the four exercise types, it just doesn't work. The four options are running/hiking/'walking/cycling. When you're running, it actually uses the gps in your phone to calculate the distance so if you set the exercise to running and then don't move distance-wise, it won't calculate the calories correctly. I'm not a runner, I do cross-fit, at home cardio classes and weightlifting and none of these registered correctly on the device because I didn't travel any distance as far as the bad was concerned. The band also fit quite well on my wrist and wasn't too much wider than my Up Band so that was a plus. It was comfortable to wear as well and of course tells the time, which was the ultimate goal. I really loved the band for all the other stuff it had so I really hope they come up with another workout option on the band for those of us who do Zumba/cross-fit/weightlifting so the fitness piece is more of what I would need/use.

This is a simple smart watch with one way notifications and it's great at that. It's fitness tracking works well with the Samsung phones and for the price, this is really worth it.

Not a watch wearer but would be interested in a "Livestrong Band sized " unit used as a "always on" pedometer...and if I am gonna wear it...a watch would be required. Heart rate monitor a huge plus. Battery lasted a day...but if you turn wake up gesture off...will last the whole week without planned exercise programs (Timed exercises with intermittent heart tests) Lots of clock faces and apps at Google play. Samsung Fitness Software OK...but not Apple Health or Fitbit level. Competitor at this level is the FitBit Charge that comes out next year. But you cant send a Glympse or control music from that....and the gear fit can. The only real changes I would like...would be a better clasp...and maybe thinner (but keep the curve)...and a top button (currently on the side) Bad: Big wrist so needed to buy Large band from Samsung (not at store). Clasp comes undone easly (Lost my first one at Disneyland). Second unit solved with purchase of MDW Security clasp (flat rubber band around clasp)

I bought the Samsung Gear Fit for my wife who loves her new Galaxy S6, and it is perfect! It is the perfect blend of a step counter with smart watch features. It looks slick, and has been a great tool in her fitness. Definitely recommend!

Very happy with it. I love that notifications come up, and I can read the first few lines of incoming e-mail on my wrist before deciding to pick up phone when a notification comes in. I love calendar reminders on it, as well as notification of incoming calls. I can put the phone on silent, and meanwhile it will vibrate on my wrist when a call or notification comes in. The step counter is not 100% accurate, and I don't like that I don't get a daily total calorie burn (for example, a fitbit or body media fit will tell me I burned 2,500 calories so I know I can eat that much or less, where this thing might tell me I burned 250 calories for the day which is the amount burned by stepping).

I did lots of online research before purchasing and I will say, for what this is it is worth it. It is not a smart watch and does not have the full functionality of that so don't expect it. It is a great fitness band that can take your heart rate as well and it will act as a watch with some smart functions. Tells you who is calling, you can read texts and send simple responses. Very happy with purchase, only negative is chrome finish around edge wears faster than you would expect it to.

My Gearfit has everything I need with a built-in pedometer, heart rate and sleep monitors, and exercise tracker. The best feature I love is it notifies me of all my text messages, Hangouts alerts, emails from each of my work and personal accounts, Skype calls and even my Goto Meeting reminders!

I bought this so I could keep track of my steps, my heart rate, and because I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. I have only had it for a couple of days but so far everything is working well. I like that I am also notified when I get an e-mail and that I could add my husbands phone number in case I needed help it will call his cell phone. It is comfortable to wear as I have a small wrist and the other models were too big for me. I am still learning how to use the other functions it has.

So far so good. I bought The Gear Fit to counts my steps and monitor my exercise activity. While it counts my steps, it is not accurate but I feel close enough, as I like having an idea of the steps I am walking--trying to get to that 10,000 step minimum. I have not used it yet in conjunction with my cycling class but looking forward to it. It also monitors my heart rate and notifies me of when I am getting messages on my phone, which I like when I am away from my phone. It was very easy to pair up with my phone. Looking forward to using more of the functions. I would buy this product again.

I bought this product so I don't have to carry my phone while walking or exercising. It controls the music on my phone which is the major selling point for me. The product is not advertised to control streaming music apps, but it does. It will control the volume, let you skip, etc on I heart radio and other streaming apps. I love the pedometer also. The heart rate monitor is an added bonus, but is not always accurate. Overall, it works for me exactly how I want it to.
