For starters, I am the type of person that researches something entirely too much before making a purchase. I'm not overly picky, I just have a hard time spending money. So I end up researching products for months before making the purchase. I had looked at getting the Samsung Gear s3 Classic, but the price tag and some of the features kept me from pulling the trigger. I have always been worried that having a smartwatch was a recipe for disaster if it wasn't waterproof. When the Gear Sport came out, it was like a dream come true. The price was more reasonable, it was waterproof up to (if I remember correctly) 163 feet, it had all the great features of the s3 but cut out things I didn't need (like LTE network access). It still took me a little while because I wasn't sure if I wanted to commit to the blue or the dark metal of the Gear Sport. I decided on the dark metal and it looks really nice. The only downside for me was the black sport band that comes with it. I love it for working out, but my skin gets irritated if I wear that band all the time. I ended up ordering a dark metal band that matches the watch metal so that I had a dressier option for work. I am so incredibly please with my purchase. The heart rate monitor is awesome, the different apps and their functionality are phenomenal, the bezel it so satisfying to use, and all the different watch faces are so fun for customization. Overall, this is probably the best electronics purchase I have made in the last few years. Also, looks great on a lady's wrist.

I also own the regular samsung gear S3 that I bought about a year ago. I LOVE the S3, so I when I saw they came out with a smaller version that is waterproof I decided to go for it. I like the size of the sport better, I am a woman and it fits better on my small wrists and is also a lot lighter than the S3. I haven't tested the waterproof part yet, but that was the only thing I DIDN"T like about the S3 was that it wasn't waterproof so I would have to take it off when swimming. Besides the size and waterproof stuff, they are pretty much the same watch, have the same features and function the same. The only complaint about the sport is that I can't answer calls directly on the watch like I could the S3. I didn't use that feature often...but it was nice if I was in the basement, my phone was upstairs and I didn't have time to run up and get the cell phone, I could just answer on my watch...so I do miss that part (but again, didn't use it that often that it is a huge deal). Overall I enjoy it a lot, gave it 4 stars only because I can't answer calls on it.

I was going to deduct a star for this watch not having a speaker, however, it is not a replacement for a phone, it is an accessory FOR your phone, and honestly, I probably wouldn't use it either, unlessit read texts and emails aloud. I love the waterproofing, the design and the feedback of the rotating bezel. I am a 22 year old woman, and I'm not outlandishly tech savvy. This watch is easy for anyone to use in my opinion. I do find new things that i can do everyday though. It's a nice compliment when im on my way to class, or at work.

I received this product as a birthday gift. The watch came with a charger and very well protected in the box. The watch connected to my phone as soon as I turned it on. The multiple faces on the watch make it lots of fun. I bought the sport version because I'm always in the gym and I'm happy I did. This watch tracks everything I do in the gym. It's water proof which is great when your as forgetful as I am. The battery on this watch is amazing it lasts over three days. If I don't go to the gym it last over 4 days. I love everything about this watch.

I just upgraded from gear s2 support, it was fantastic but when I got this great sport and used it, it blew my mind. The resolution of screen, the display,... etc. Samsung did a great job on the design of the watch. I liked the size more than the frontier, it's but smaller and in my opinion more fashion. The battery last for the days easy. And if it was not used, it would last up to ten days. I would highly recommend it.

    Fitness/Exercise access better than Apple

Purchased this after owning an apple watch for two years, so comparing the two is easy. I have the blue Samsung Gear Sport watch. Loved it so much that I bought one for my husband for Christmas. Pros: -Fitness/Exercise options are great. I can even choose Yoga. So many options for recording my exercises. - Ease of use, once set up - Battery Life - At least 2 days at average use and watch face not on all the time. -Water resistance (tested in my shower) -Can be used with iphones Cons -NO SPEAKER (Cannot receive phone calls through the watch without having bluetooth headphones - Storage space is too small. They should make them 10 Gigs minimum in all phones. After Apple destroyed my 6S Plus with the 11 upgrade, I went back to Android. The Android I chose was a Note 4 so it is NOT up to the most recent Android Version. Therefore my microphone option is quirky. So cannot review that. Otherwise, this watch works as described. While I cannot use my Apple Watch (which I LOVED) with Android, I can use the Samsung Gear Watch with an iphone. My husband uses his with his iphone. The fitness options are better than the apple. Having to scroll or turn the bezel to access the apps is kind of a pain on the Gear BUT you can organize them to make access to your most frequently used apps, so that makes it faster to get to what you want. There are interactive watch faces so you can get to what you want with a touch of the finger. More choices for watch faces than apple watch too. Processor is fast enough. Haven't used the bluetooth so not sure if it is problem free. Overall, very pleased! Love the water resistance. I am brutal on watches. Have had it since December and wear it about 5 days out of 7 per week and haven't damaged it at all.

Too soon to leave this review? NO WAY! The Samsung Gear Sport is the perfect complement to the new Samsung Note8 I just got for my business, and it also plays well with my iPhone 7+. Big ups to Samsung for having multi-platform support unlike other brands. The watch fits nicely, has an awesome design and has a myriad of applications to use. It has already made my job much easier by allowing me to work without having to find my phone to see business notifications. I also love the battery life on the thing! Unplugged it Friday at 10am fully charged and made it to Saturday at 5pm with 20% left!

After using a Gear Fit2 for over a year, I upgraded to the Galaxy Sport and it is amazing! I love the controls and the round face design with the bezel that rotates. I also found the battery life to last almost 3 times as long! The Auto HR readings are a little more accurate as well. Overall, I am pleased with my decision to upgrade this device!

This is the 4th smart watch that I have had I had the previous model the gear S3I also had the fit bit am a garmin and the Michael Kors brand I really like the fact that this ask your sport is waterproof and came with a lot of great faces it has had a little bit of trouble connecting with my phone which was a little frustrating because I purposely got a Samsung phone and a Samsung smart watch so that they would sink I had to uninstall and reinstall several times but after doing so it seems to be working better it does have quite the dream on my phone's battery but all in all as a watch for syncing with phones keeping track of health using apps and having a variety of faces to choose from I really like it the only thing that would have me give it 5 stars is if they fixed the glitches and it was not such a drain on the phone as far is the battery life on the watch itself you get about 2 days if you're not on it all the time and one day if you're constantly on it

Great battery life. Has a lot of features. You can set up and read notifications easily. Load your music on it and do away with player or use a music app. Only thing is no speaker on it but you can go swimming with it. BT easy to set up with phone and headphones.

I recently switched from an iPhone and Apple Watch to a Galaxy s9 and the Gear Sport. I liked that it is a smaller size then the Gear s3 as I don't have a big wrist. It's a very attractive durable watch. It has most of the features I want: fitness tracking, weather, notifications. The only things I miss from my Apple Watch are the breathe app, and a decent stock tracker. Also think the Apple menu/ navigation system has a leg up on Samsung. Other then that, the original band was uncomfortable but I was able to replace with a stylish NATO band that I love.

My wife loves this watch, very good construction materials and an incredible design. It is very smooth and everything works perfect, the battery lasts three days. The opretivo system is much better than Android wear. It's excellent

I looked at all the smart watches in the $300 price range (Apple Watch, FitBit Ionic, Garmin Vivoactive 3) and decided on the Gear Sport. I am active but I mostly wanted a cool smart watch that tracked my activities and heart rate. I also didn't want to be locked into the Apple ecosystem. I started using this with my iPhone and it was fine but the Samsung apps on iOS are pretty bad (and iOS doesn't make it easy for smart watch makers); I have since moved to a Pixel 2 phone and the integration is much better. My only complaint with the watch is that it takes about two hours to charge; if you don't care about sleep metrics or use the silent alarms to wake up then this is less of a big deal. BTW - I've been using the watch for a few weeks now so this isn't a one day review.

I wanted a waterproof fitness tracker / smart watch hybrid. It allows me to have a clock, track my activity, and receive notifications in the pool at my gym. Battery lasts 2+ days easily with probably a little more than medium use. Fits and feels great. It's easy to adjust a notch larger or smaller throughout the day if I get cooler or hotter and my wrist swells a little. Easy to use interface with the bezel. Very customization friendly to get to your favorite things quicker.

Giving this a 4 because I have noticed a few hiccups with the OS. One major thing has been a recent input failure through using one of the ways you can "voice text". Apparently on forums there have been others with this issue to no avail on troubleshooting. HOWEVER, this watch is a great replacement for the Gear S2 Classics. This is a watch for those who have small wrists and don't want a huge or heavy watch like the S3. I've changed out the band for a metallic looking one but the standard band that came with the watch was just fine (for those not wanting to change it) It has all the features I need and have gotten a lot if compliments on it! I got this on sale but even without it, I would highly recommend it.
