I wasn't sure if the soundbar would power up along with the TV, but it does. The TCL remote does not control the soundbar volume (not sure if I'm missing something), so the volume needs to be controlled with the Samsung remote. The sound is very good for both television audio and also when listening to music. The minimalistic design of the remote takes some getting used to, but it's not too bad since the only feature that typically gets used is the volume control. Most of the settings are once-and-done. The subwoofer is more than adequate for an average size room.

Thank you for sharing your review of the new HW-B650 Soundbar.
If your soundbar is connected to your TV with either an optical cable or HDMI via ARC, you can control the volume and mute the soundbar using your Samsung TV's remote. The soundbar should also turn on and off with the TV.
1) Use the TV remote to navigate to Settings, select Sound, and then select Sound Output on your Samsung TV.
2) Select your Samsung soundbar, and then select Close. Now you can use your TV remote to adjust volume and mute the soundbar. The soundbar should also turn on and off with the TV.
Other manufacturer’s remotes may have to be enabled on your soundbar. First, turn Off the Soundbar. Once powered off, push up and hold the WOOFER button for 5 seconds. Each time you push the WOOFER button up and hold it for 5 seconds, the mode switches in the following order: “OFF-TV REMOTE” (Default mode), “SAMSUNG-TV REMOTE”, “ALL-TV REMOTE”. Please also make sure your speaker settings on the TV are set to External Speaker.

Only critiques are that i have to plug in an hdmi to get my TV remote to also work on this. Also, sometimes only can only turn the volume up or down a set amount with my TV remote. Not sure if the issue is my TV and it's compatibility with the product or just the product. These critiques are personal and why i give only 4 out 5. The sound quality is a 5 star though
