For what it cost I think it is a good unit. My only complaint it does not equalize the sound automatically. I.E. Samsung TV sound level for normal programming is very low. You have to really turn up the volume. Then it goes to commercial and the sound level blasts you out of the room. I feel the sound bar should automatically adjust the sound level to compensate.

Watching a movie with just tv speakers takes a lot of the experience away. With the sound bar and woofer you hear the footsteps, birds, clinks, clanks and other background sounds that bring the movie to life.

We appreciate you taking the time to review the HW-B650 soundbar.
Here are some tips on how to connect your soundbar to your TV.
1) With the Soundbar and TV turned on, connect the HDMI cable from the Soundbar to your TV (included).
2) “TV ARC” appears in the display window of the Soundbar main unit and the Soundbar plays TV Sound.
a. If TV sound is inaudible, press the (Source) button on the remote control or on the right side of the Soundbar to switch to “D.IN” mode. The screen displays “D.IN” and “TV ARC” in sequence, and the TV sound is played.
b. If “TV ARC” does not appear in the display window of the Soundbar main unit, confirm that the cable is connected to the correct port.
c. Use the volume buttons on the TV’s remote control to change the volume on the Soundbar.
If the TV provides an ARC port, connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI IN (ARC) port. We recommend you use a coreless HDMI cable if possible. If you use a cored HDMI cable, use one whose diameter is less than 0.55 inches (14 mm). This function is not available if the HDMI cable does not support ARC.

Way better than built in speakers!

I had to purchase a HDMI cable as it only came with optical, which I don't care for. I found that there was quite an audio speaker output level difference between Bluetooth, Optical and HDMI methods of interconnection with our Samsung TV. The subwoofer is somewhat ineffective, although that doesn't really bother me. Once set up, we are happy with it.
