    not very good sub woofer response. The sub can barely be felt until you turn the volume up way beyond a comfortable listening volume

      Hi TheronV,

      Thank you for taking a moment to review the Samsung HW-B650 Soundbar.

      By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

      Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.

      Additionally, using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the subwoofer’s volume between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

      With the optional SWA-9200S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit connected you can adjust the volume by using the provided Soundbar remote. Press CH LEVEL and select REAR LEVEL, then use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.

    Samsung sound bar

    This bar was easy to set-up. But having trouble to get the bass set where it's not has loud has the treble. Wife doesn't like a lot of bass. Other then that the bar is okay for how I want it to sound.

    Starts off really strong. I bought this around 6-8 months back and the sound is always fading, but that’s why I got protection on a soundbar! Small amps inside won’t last forever

      You can optimize your audio performance to your liking by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing SURROUND SOUND, BASS BOOST, GAME, ADAPTIVE, DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD.

    Does not disappoint. I was skeptical at first having previously purchased a smaller soundbar with built-in woofer for my 50" Samsung tv and I wasn't too happy with it. Uggrading to this product for my 65" curved tv, I could not be happier. It does the job with excellent surround sound to make movie viewing a great experience as well as listening to music with Bluetooth!

    Got it for $190 open box. It sounds fine enough to my untrained ears, and it is 3.1 channel. Don’t think you would need anything more for a small to medium sized room.

    I've had this for two years, and for 2 years this TV has had trouble connecting to my home internet *and* finding its own Bluetooth soundbar. The picture is also very dark; it's almost impossible to watch some shows.

      I’m sorry to hear that you’re dissatisfied with the performance of your Samsung HW-B650 Soundbar.

      There are a few things you may want to check:

      1) The maximum wireless signal transmission distance is about 33 ft.
      2) Electronic devices may cause radio interference. Devices that generate electromagnetic waves should be kept away from the Soundbar main unit - e.g., microwaves, wireless LAN devices, etc.
      3) Also, please be sure you have the latest firmware update. You can update your firmware by using a USB device. You can find the update on the product page of your HW-B650 on the Samsung website.

    Sound is wonderful when its working. On some TV channels the volume has to be turned way up, in some cases to 70. Even when you can hear these channels, the sound still seems muffled and distorted. The problem has to be with this unit because the B-550 I had before this B-650 did not have these problems. I'll have to take this issue to the Geeks and see if they know what;s wrong.

      Hello EddyL,

      Thank you for sharing your experiences with the HW-B650 Soundbar. I am sorry to see that your initial time with the Soundbar has not been ideal.

      There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.

      Please verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

      Next, do a software update on your Soundbar. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B650 under Standard.

      Download the update and install it via USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.

      If your Soundbar is still sounding muffled then try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.

      Lastly, with the Soundbar on do a hard reset. Press the + & - (Volume UP/DOWN) buttons on the body at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.
