    Subwoofer not good

    Sound bar has a nice sound to it. I dislike the fact that it depends on the subwoofer to have that actual kick to it. Subwoofer wave continues to disconnect has flashing lights that indicate malfunction and i just purchased this not even a month in. Disappointed because i enjoy watching movies and with good sound.

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with the HW-B650 Soundbar. I am sorry to see that the soundbar did not live up to your expectations!

      The flashing light on the subwoofer means that it has started the pairing process and is has not completed pairing to the soundbar. To pair the subwoofer to the soundbar automatically follow these instructions below.

      1. Press and hold ID SET on the rear of the subwoofer for at least 5 seconds.
      • The red indicator on the rear of the subwoofer turns off and the blue indicator blinks.
      2. Press and hold the Up button on the remote control for at least 5 seconds.
      • The ID SET message appears on the display of the Soundbar for a moment, and then it disappears.
      • The Soundbar will automatically power on when ID SET is complete.
      3. Check if the LINK LED is solid blue (connection complete). The LINK LED indicator stops blinking and glows a solid blue when a connection is established between the Soundbar and the Wireless Subwoofer.

      Also, make sure that you are running the latest software available to your soundbar. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B650 under Standard.

      Download the update and install it via USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well. We are here and happy to help you!

    Pro: has optical and HDMI/ARC , and Digital connection for sound output. Cons: when first connected the sound did not sync with tv / people talking dialogue. Fix was to download a firmware update from Samsung to a USB flash drive and jump thru an archaic update process. Another is the actual adjustment of sound. Most must be made via the remote and a display on the sound bar that looks like a traffic info display on the highway.

      I'm sorry to hear about the beginning set up issues that you've experienced, if you are using a Samsung TV from 2020, 2021 or 2022 you can use Audio Pass-Through to help with audio sync issues.

      2020/2021/2022 Samsung TVs have a feature called Audio Pass-Through. You can utilize this feature on your Samsung TV to correct your audio-sync issue.

      On your TV go to: Settings > Audio > Expert Settings > Digital Audio Output Format > Pass-Through

    I don’t understand sound bars when I bought my new TV, they told me I needed one. But the woofer, I believe that’s what it’s called, thumps with heavy base. I wound up, unplugging it because it is too disturbing and I don’t know how to fix it.

      You can optimize you Soundbars audio performance by pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

      Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.

      Additionally, using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the subwoofer’s volume between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

    System isnt that old now and the wireless sub seems to randomly loose connection. Not sure why but if it keeps up i guess I'll have to figure out how to use the warranty purchassed and hope they can figure it out. There is also no wat to stop it from turning its self off after just a couple minutes if i pause a show for a call.

      The Soundbar Auto Power Down using any inputs where it will power down after 20 minutes if no audio signal has been detected.

      There are a few steps you can follow to troubleshoot your connect issues with your subwoofer. First would be to do a firmware update. Go to Samsung's website, hover your mouse over SUPPORT in the top right corner. Next click on MANUALS & SOFTWARE, from there type in your full model name of your soundbar. You will be able to follow the instructions provided to update your soundbar using a USB thumb drive.

    I bought two of these sound bar at BestBuy both sound bar in less than a year sound started skipping took them back to BestBuy they sent them in to have them fixed got them back started all over again second or third time I sent them in they gave me new sound bars now they’re doing the same thing I called Samsung they want do anything about it don’t buy these waste of money.BestBuy was very helpful but Samsung was not one star is too much

    Decent soundbar. No real upgrade from a 7 year old sound bar of same specs. Only complaint is the sub woffer will disconnect randomly and then resume. Same thing happened with the 7 year old sound bar subwoofer. Just keep the sub woofer within 5 feet of soundbar for better connection
