The soundbar stopped working...prior to that I was not impressed with the sound. It could be that it just doesn't work well in an open floor plan.
Thank you for taking a few moments to review the Samsung HW-B650 Soundbar.
Please verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.
You can optimize your audio performance to your liking by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing SURROUND SOUND, BASS BOOST, GAME, ADAPTIVE, DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD.
By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.
Additionally, using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the subwoofer’s volume between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.
With the optional SWA-9200S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit connected you can adjust the volume by using the provided Soundbar remote. Press CH LEVEL and select REAR LEVEL, then use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.

This sound is ok. I am a little disappointed. Subwoofer isn't very loud.
We appreciate your feedback on the Samsung B650 Soundbar and Subwoofer. Please know the subwoofer is responsible for low-frequency sounds, like the rumbles of an explosion in an action movie or the bass guitar and drum in your favorite music. It adds rich bass tones and deepens the sound quality you hear, but since the subwoofer only plays low tones, it will be silent when low-frequency sounds are not in use. If you would like louder (or softer) bass from your subwoofer, you can adjust the level by rocking the WOOFER button on the soundbar remote and then adjusting the level from -6 to +6. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.
I hope this helps. For further assistance with settings, features, or functions, please contact Samsung Customer Support. You can call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Had high hopes based on the reviews so went ahead a purchased. Finally got to truly utilize it for the Super Bowl and was SUPER disappointed in the sound. I don’t have a big a living room and have an open concept space (living room and kitchen are next to each other) and I couldn’t hear anything from the kitchen even though it was at MAX volume with the surround sound option on with the subwoofer. Definitely would not recommend unless you live in a studio or very small apartment.

I’ve had this soundbar only three months and it’s barely worked, making jump-scare spitting sounds, blaring at top volume intermittently, sound randomly cutting out several times and finally just quit working with a low hum that continued even after being turned off, it needed to be unplugged.

Loud enough when listening to music with Bluetooth but when watching a movie on the TV not loud enough
I am sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with the overall volume of the HW-B650. If you don't have the SWA-9200S connected, you will probably want to select PCM audio on your TV. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.
If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 3.1.2 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.

I wish I could be more pleased with this sound bar. It is rated at 200 watts which should totally blow my space away. It does not. At full volume it is okay but not loud. I am using the optical cable. Wish I could figure out what I could be doing wrong.

Enjoyed this soundbar so far. works well with the Samsung TV.

Defective soundbar, didn’t notice until i connected my phone via Bluetooth. Sound cuts in and out via Bluetooth, tried every troubleshooting method nothing worked. Unable to return since it’s been 3 weeks since purchased. Samsung wants to send a tech to repair device. Horrible customer service, i shouldn’t have issues with a brand new device.
Thank you for sharing your review of Samsung’s HW-B650 Soundbar. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. Your feedback is very important to us as we continuously strive for best-in-class product and service.
Please know that since the TV is stationary, you would expect the Bluetooth connection to the Soundbar to be consistent. For mobile devices, however, you must be aware that the wireless Bluetooth signal does not do well passing through objects such as metal, concrete or plaster wall. In addition, interference can occur when near electronic devices such as microwave ovens, wireless routers, or even other Bluetooth devices.
For best performance, devices should be within 32 feet, and line of sight with the Soundbar. Electronic devices may cause radio interference. Devices that generate electromagnetic waves should be kept away from the Soundbar main unit - e.g., microwaves, wireless LAN devices, etc.
If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST (Ask for Soundbars), 7 days a week. Our Live Chat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.
