    Nice quality of sound for what you're paying for, a lot of issues with over heating, shutting itself off , sometimes when I'm 20 minutes into the movie, sound bar randomly shuts off :(

    Not so happy with my purchase

    After couple of month of purchase we’re having trouble. It’s disconnecting over night and we need to turn it on with the control or on the power bar. It’s getting frustrating and I don’t thing that’s normal. It shouldn’t be doing that.

    Setup a little tricky, but sound is good

    Good sound quality and pretty easy setup except the subwoofer took several attempts to connect to the sound bar. Regardless, my husband was happy with his Christmas present.

    I thought this would be a good plus for our home, once we have the HW-T510... and it is super nice. BUT....but, this HW-B650/ZA volume, specially bass, sounds like 70% of the 4 years old soundbar. The subwoofer has only 45W. Comparing to the old one 55W you should see. Definitely disappointed ... and if you really want to try, at any BrandsSmart they are selling it for $199... no membership required. DISAPPOINTED!!!!

      Thank you for taking a few moments to review the Samsung HW-B650 Soundbar.

      You can optimize your audio performance to your liking by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing SURROUND SOUND, BASS BOOST, GAME, ADAPTIVE, DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD.

      By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

      Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.

      Additionally, using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the subwoofer’s volume between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

    The sound bar itself is good, however the customer service and the description of the product was disastrous!! I got a Open Box in "EXCELLENT" condition. According to Best Buy, this means that it just like new and comes like new and everything is new, just that the box was opened. I received this in WAY LESS THAN POOR CONDITION. there was a rip in the corner of the subwoofer, scratches all over the entire thing and IT DID NOT HAVE A BOX AT ALL!

    I tried writing a reciew on this but the best buy app sucks. This sansung sound bar is not loud or strong engough. Only when music is playing through it at volumn 100. I am using the optical cable and set up everything correctly. It is just garbage for the price. The tv speakers are louder than the bar. Avoid.

      I’m sorry to hear that you’re dissatisfied with the performance of your HW-B650 Soundbar.

      I am sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with the overall volume of the soundbar. If you don't have a surround system, you will probably want to select PCM audio on your TV. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.

      If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 3.1.2 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.

      On a Samsung TV this can be found at Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings. (It can also be found in the Quick Settings.)

    Samsung HW-B650/ZA 3.1 Channel Soundbar The Samsung HW-B650/ZA is a solid upgrade for anyone looking to boost their TV audio without diving into a full surround-sound setup. The 3.1 channel configuration delivers clear dialogue thanks to the dedicated center channel, while the wireless subwoofer adds deep, punchy bass that really enhances movies, sports, and gaming. Dolby 5.1 and DTS Virtual:X do a great job creating a wider, more immersive soundstage, making it feel like audio is coming from all around the room. Setup is quick and painless, with Bluetooth connectivity working smoothly for both TV and music streaming. The soundbar has plenty of power for medium to large rooms, and the bass level is impressive without being overwhelming.     3.1 is the way to go. This thing is a steal

    I researched for a long time in the $100-$200 range and could only find 2.1 systems. I went to Best Buy to try and listen to some. I found that you should NEVER go with 2.1 (which means only 2 speakers and 1 woofer). The 3.1 is the bare minimum for me because dialogue and voices just sound so much richer with the third (center) speaker. The B650 is amazing and the woofer adds so much to your listening experience. The setup is very easy with an HDMI cable and the woofer connected instantly. Minimal instructions and the remote offers some really good features. I keep the sound mode on "adaptive lite" and its incredible. You can switch from heavy bass music, to a youtube video, and then a movie and the sound is very balanced. For $279.99 this thing is a no brainer and the wall mount is super easy. Shell out the extra cash for a 3.1 if you can afford it, and you can upgrade it down the road to a 5.1 without having to buy a whole new system. Otherwise stick with your tv speakers instead of getting a cheap 2.1.
