    I bought this surround thinking it would work, but the bar didn't work, I couldn't get it to turn on. so i returned it to the store, i better buy a cheaper sound bar and it worked perfect

    I bought this soundbar, and it stopped turning in in about 7 months after purchase. Would not recommend.

      Thank you for your review of the Samsung HW-B650 Soundbar and for sharing the issues that have caused you to return your unit. Your experience is very important to us and will be shared with our product team.

      Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. When an update is available, you can update the Soundbar by connecting the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar.

      1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper right corner.
      2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model
      2. Download the firmware file (USB type).
      3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name.
      4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar.
      5. A sequence of “UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON” will appear on the display 3 times. This will take around 6 minutes.
      - During update, do not turn it off or remove the USB.
      - If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it.
      - When the latest Version is installed, no update is performed.
      - Depending on the USB type, update may not be supported.
      6. After the 3 cycles are complete, the Soundbar will restart and last source used will appear on the display for about 20 seconds and then it will go off (“UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON”) 3 times “D.IN” > off

      There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.

      First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.

      If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. Press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

    Terrible sound you have to turn it up to 80 to her the voices. My cheap no name surround sound that was 10 years old was way better.

      Thank you for purchasing the HW-B650 Soundbar and I am sorry to hear that you have experienced these issues with your soundbar.

      To improve your dialogue, press the CH LEVEL button on your soundbar remote until you see CENTER CHANNEL. Use the UP/DOWN buttons to adjust the center channel between -6 to +6, this is where all of the dialogue comes from.

      Press and hold the (Sound Control) button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.

      You can try adjusting audio performance to your liking by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing SURROUND SOUND, BASS BOOST, GAME, ADAPATIVE, DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD.

      By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

      Additionally, using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the subwoofer’s volume between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

      There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your audio sync issues that you are experiencing. First, check the Digital Audio Output (on a Samsung TV) on your TV go to: Settings > Audio > Expert Settings > Digital Audio Output Format. Make sure this is set to Auto, Bitstream or Pass-Through if your TV supports this feature.

      On the provided Soundbar remote, press the SOUND CONTROL button which looks like a gear, then select SYNC. From here you can set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons.

      I'm sorry to hear you're not completely satisfied with the overall volume of the B650 Soundbar. If you don't have a surround system, you will probably want to select PCM audio on your TV. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.

      If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 3.1.2 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.

      On a Samsung TV this can be found at Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings. (It can also be found in the Quick Settings.)

    Garbage! sound-bar would go into prt mode and cut sound out till you restarted the sound-bar. Samsung don't know home theatre systems.

      Connecting your soundbar to a TV through HDMI will provide the best audio and user experience, often eliminating any connection or delay issues you may be experiencing. There are 2 ways to connect your soundbar with HDMI: you can connect a device to your soundbar (like a Blu-ray player) and then connect the soundbar to the TV, or you can use HDMI ARC.

      If the video on the TV and audio from the Soundbar are not synchronized, select SYNC in SOUND CONTROL (looks like a gear), and then set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons.

      If available, we recommend using the HDMI connection to your TV.

      Connecting your soundbar to a TV through HDMI will provide the best audio and user experience, often eliminating any connection or delay issues you may be experiencing. There are 2 ways to connect your soundbar with HDMI: you can connect a device to your soundbar (like a Blu-ray player) and then connect the soundbar to the TV, or you can use HDMI ARC. The first method will give you the best possible sound from external devices you regularly use. ARC is the way to go if you want great sound from streaming apps on your TV and a soundbar.

      If connected via Bluetooth to the TV and the soundbar is dropping out intermittently there are a few things to check before performing any troubleshooting:
      1) The maximum wireless signal transmission distance is about 33 ft.
      2) If there is a device that uses the same wireless frequency near the Soundbar, interference may cause some sound interruption.
      4) Check all the sources on the soundbar. If the audio is dropping while watching TV it could be an issue with the broadcast.
      5) Also, please be sure you have the latest firmware update. You can update your firmware by using a USB device. You can find the update on the product page of your xxx on the Samsung website.
