    Volume control on remote is tricky, but powerful.

    The system is easy enough to set up and more than enough to meet a minimum need for increased volume and bass with movies, TV shows and music. The remote is less than desirable for increasing the volume though. I don’t need to adjust for TV/ movies since it’s in my home gym, so I just maxed it out on the speaker itself. That’s said, I couldn’t be happier with the purchase.

    Best value sound bar

    This has to be the best “value” sound bar/surround sound out there. I originally went with the Samsung hw-b650 3.1ch as it was on sale for $200. While it was an extremely loud unit with booming bass it had limited “effect, surround, eq” settings. It lacked the surround effect I was looking for, I also had an issue using the arc input, sound would cut out and I had to turn off and on the bar to work again.. I exchanged that one for this Vizio 5.1ch and wow what a difference! Actual quality surround sound, crisp dialogue, with so many customizable settings for any type of sound needed. The cords for the surround speakers are extremely long and can be spread out to fit most medium sized rooms. I also really like the backlit remote which is very helpful when making adjustments. I highly recommend for this price point!

      The SWA-9200S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit is the compatible rear kit for this soundbar. If you are having issues connecting the rear speaker kit, please contact Samsung Customer Service and we will be happy to help you.

      You can optimize your audio performance to your liking by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing SURROUND SOUND, BASS BOOST, GAME, ADAPTIVE, DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD.

      By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

      Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.

      Additionally, using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the subwoofer’s volume between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

      Lastly, press the CH LEVEL button so you can adjust the volume of each speaker. CENTER LEVEL can be adjusted using the UP/DOWN buttons from -6 to +6.

    Very pleased!!

    I bought this for my boyfriend as a gift. We have both been so pleased on ease of setup and the sound quality! If you aren’t looking to spend a fortune on an audio system would definitely recommend this one. Sub is definitely worth adding on. I can easily pair the sound bar to my phone and back to the TV it’s hooked up to.

    Probably a misunderstanding on my part, but I thought open box items were functional, but used. Perhaps scratched or scuffed, but functional. This soundbar did not have the soundbar power supply, but was rated excellent and only $20 cheaper than on-sale price for new. Didn't want to shop around for a power supply so returned it.

    The speakers are not very loud. The subwoofer only worked for about 3 weeks.

      I am sorry to see that you have experienced these issues with your Soundbar.

      Updating the latest software is the first step in troubleshooting your issue. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B650 under Standard.

      Download the update and install it via a USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.

      Next try a hard reset, with the Soundbar on press the + & - (Volume UP/DOWN) buttons on the body at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

      Check the LED indicator light at the back of the Subwoofer, if it is a SOLID BLUE then it is connected. If you are still experiencing issues with the subwoofer at this time, if the color is RED or blinking BLUE, then contact Samsung Customer Support for additional troubleshooting or warranty assistance.

      Please be aware that the subwoofer will need to be paired with the soundbar itself. To manually pair your subwoofer to your soundbar follow these instructions.

      1. Press and hold ID SET on the rear of the subwoofer for at least 5 seconds.
      • The red indicator on the rear of the subwoofer turns off and the blue indicator blinks.
      2. Press and hold the Up button on the remote control for at least 5 seconds.
      • The ID SET message appears on the display of the Soundbar for a moment, and then it disappears.
      • The Soundbar will automatically power on when ID SET is complete.
      3. Check if the LINK LED is solid blue (connection complete).

      If you need the full manual for anything else regarding settings or step by step instructions on how to pair the subwoofer including diagrams, please refer to Samsung's website.

      If you are unable to locate the User Manual for your soundbar on Samsung’s website, please follow these steps:

      1) Visit the product page of the HW-B650 Soundbar on Samsung’s website
      2) Click “Support” below the soundbar name - this will take you to the bottom of the web page.
      3) You will then see 2 options in grey boxes: User Manual and Warranty.
      4) Click “Download” under User Manual & agree to the terms – the full User Manual will then begin downloading!

    great for enhancing your movie watchin experience

    I love how well this integrated with my existing samsung TV. It makes watching movies so much better, giving that dynamic range between dialog and action sequences, making it easier to hear the dialog and not have to turn down the action stuff

    Just bought this system yesterday and it sounds like a theater in my room now!!! Im very happy with the Bass aswell overall i love it!!! No trouble or hate here got what i was wanting hoping to add the rear speakers when i get the chance!!!

    this sound bar is veryyyy powerful. very good quality sounds. i can hear it out side my house with all the windows and doors shut. loud and clear audio
