It immediately improved the quality of my Roku tv. I would highly recommend it as a very cost efficient means to improve a tvs audio.

Despite its compact size, the sound is rich and powerful. The 3.0 channel system with Dolby 5.1 and DTS Virtual:X really expands the soundstage, making movies and music feel immersive.

However, this bar which comes with the remote, the remote does not control some of the functions, like bass and treble... which is pretty annoying. The more expensive model soundbars, with a subwoofer DO work with the remote to control bass and treble and some additional functions... like tv clear voice etc. So keep in mind if your tryiing to do a simple "all-in-one" bar, this has limited functionality, with the remote.

Thank you for taking a moment to review the Samsung HW-S50B Soundbar.
To optimize your audio experience, please try the various sound modes this model offers. Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select your desired sound effect: DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD, MUSIC, or ADAPTIVE.
When you press the CH LEVEL button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the CENTER speaker using the UP/DOWN buttons between -6 to +6. If the Rear Speakers (sold separately) are connected, the setting “Rear Level” is supported.
You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the TONE CONTROL button using the UP/DOWN buttons on the remote between -6 to +6.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to "Standard".

I put this in our bedroom. With the new thinner TV’s the speakers are in the back. You have to turn the tv volume up pretty high to hear talking in different shows. When you do that the sound travels down the hall for the rest of the house to hear. This new sound bar is perfect. It gives the clarity of voices over music and such. We also do not need to turn the volume up high at all. It has great sound, easy to install and just perfect.

The remote control worked very slowly and I don't think it would last very long due to it being made out of cheap plastic.

Would recommend using the HDMI cable. Used the bluetooth and there seemed to be a lag time between the audio and the screen. The sound seemed to be not in sync.

We have a long bedroom from the wall/tv to our bed and needed help on sound. FOr the most part it is excellent. From time to time in "Dynamic" mode the sound fluctuates a lot between commercials and shows. If the sound is higher, you do not notice it. At low volumes before bedtime is where it can happen. Still, overall it sounds great and it absolutely works well for a small or medium sized room. I would not use this for a main room and expect theatre sound though. But great for smaller/basic needs.
