Many appreciate its lightweight design and compact size, along with the positive comments on battery life and value for the price. The ample RAM is also frequently praised. Never any issues. I use it for browsing the web, email, Microsoft Office apps, and some data programs like Visual Studio, Orange, Stata, and Tableau. It handles them all well, as long as I don’t have too many open at once.
The touch screen is amazing for scrolling and reading. Love it. The screen turning into a tablet is okay, but buggy. I don’t use that feature.
Loadup times could be faster if you get the SSD version, but overall, I am happy with this. It still works great 5 years later.
Geek squad protection is a nice add-on.

I have this laptop for a little over a month and I'm very happy with this laptop.
Only drawback is a bit heavier for tablets.

Very sturdy laptop which is good since I'm always on the transit going to school. I love the light up keyboard, it comes in handy. The touch screen is wonderful. The only thing I don't like is the silver, but stickers can fix that. It is a little heavy for its size. I havent used it as a tablet. It starts up in about 2 minutes as soon as I open it which is good cause I'm always in a rush. It's small enough to fit on my lap and the fan is in between the screen and the keyboard so I dont have to worry too much about it over heating. It does get a little warm, but all laptops could be like that, I'm still getting used to having it on my lap all the time. I've had this laptop for about a month and after crying over the price going down a week ago, I don't regret my purchase.
Great for a college student, lots of ram and memory, compact, sturdy and just wonderful.

This one has all the necessary bells and whistles. Size is really good, not too big, not too small. At 1TB you've got great storage, lighted keyboard, light weight and good ergonomics. Three USB ports, HDMI, earphone and microSD slots. Touch screen or use pad or mouse, your choice. Screen resolution is very good, really like the ability to use it as a laptop of tablet. The only thing that is missing is a built in hard drive but can attach one easy enough through a USB port. Don't really know about the battery life as I haven't used it extensively that way but the specs makes it sound decent.

I bought this laptop for my daughter. It's very versatile. You can use as a regular laptop but then you can use the touchscreen at the same time. It also folds backwards completely becoming a notebook. You can even fold to make a "tent" to enjoy watching a movie. The functionality is awesome. The speed in which she's able to do multiple things is fantastic. It's light enough that it can be packed in her backpack. It's the perfect size. One of her favorite features is being able to use the screen to draw on her school papers. It makes editing homework easier.

I bought this laptop for my every day business laptop. It is light, FAST, great battery life, great display. I was hesitant to buy a laptop with a regular Hard Drive instead of SSD, but I opted for the 1GB HD because of the price difference. I am VERY happy with my choice. I saved myself propbably $200 by doing so. Samsung wasn't my first choice, but it had everything I needed and the price I wanted. I give this laptop 5 stars!

I had a Dell for 8 years and it no longer wanted to up date anything, so I reluctantly decided I needed to purchase a new one. It came between this one and an asus with slightly less ram. I was in best buy for an hour and then came home and compared with what was available to me online before purchasing the next day. This computer had more ram but the same aspects and, ultimately, I felt better buying a Samsung. I have had this computer for a month and do not regret it! It looks so sleek and the performance is just what I remember my Dell being in 2008. I transfered everything over and it is exactly what I'm use to except with a more compact computer. Being a college student, taking nothing but online classes, it is perfect. The performance of the computer has been excellent. I love the ability for both a laptop and a tablet, and it's so easy to carry around.

Great size, weighs very little compared to our old laptop. Very fast. Excellent storage size. Screen is good. Keyboard feels good, very responsive. My only complaint is that the speakers are not very good. Be aware when you buy it that it lacks a DVD drive, an ethernet port, a VGA port for attaching older monitors, and there is no place to attach a cable lock. External DVD drives and adapters exist, so these weren't deal-breakers for us.

Since this is an I5 I wasn't expecting much speed compared to my home computer but it is an awesome computer with decent speed, great battery life (and quick charging) and nice and light. I would recommend it if you are not looking for a laptop with a huge screen.

I'm highly satisfied with this product. Resolution is great, graphics are good, the processor is fast, and I like the 1 TB of storage. I have only used the tablet feature once and it's great. I mostly use it in laptop format but I like that I have the option. Touchscreen is highly sensitive also. Keyboard is comfortable. One feature that I really like is the backlit keyboard. This "wakes up" quickly from stand by also. The only drawback I have found thus far is that it does take a long time to download and install updates. Anywhere from 5-20 min. Some of them have been from Windows but Samsung also sends their share. It's lightweight and very portable. Battery life is ok. I believe it's a 3 cell not a 6 cell so I've gotten about 4-5 hours max with it under regular use. Outer shell is constructed well. Overall I am pleased with it and I would recommend it. Got it on sale and a week later was $100 cheaper which Best Buy refunded. I am always pleased with their customer service and buy almost all of my electronics from them.

I bought this computer after returning my original buy, the HP Envy. I was weary of switching to Samsung, since I always had HP laptops, but after being let down twice, I was ready for something new. This laptop is GREAT! No overheating problems, has great battery life, is comfortable to type on, the speakers on it are very good, and its very easy to use. I would highly recommend this model for students and for anyone doing some light typing and moderate web use. Not sure if this would qualify for any sort of gaming.

I originally was going to purchase a Lenovo but Best Buy was sold out. The salesperson showed me about the Samsung notebook and answered all my questions. I alreafy have a Samsung Galaxy tablet and S7 phone and I'm now Happy to own their notebook. It performs as well as a full size laptop without the bulk of you want to take it with you. You are able to have multiple windows open without a problem. The keyboard is easy to type on and it's nice having windows and be able to use Microsoft Office on it.

*Real review. Not sponsored or fake. (I like to put this disclaimer when I really like a product).
I have been using this laptop for just over a month now. I needed to get a reasonably priced laptop with a (sorta) huge hard drive as a back up to my main laptop. This totally fit the bill. The touch screen is great but gets a little annoying cos of the glare. The boot up is slow but once it is up and running, it is lightening fast! I just wish there were accessories like a keyboard sleeve/cover for it since I feel it is very easy for dust/dirt to get under the keys. Another downside is the lack of an ethernet port but the USB-C port works well with the connector that I purchased online. Speakers are average and the position of the speakers doesn't help either but it is not a big deal since they work really well if the compute is used on a flat, hard surface. The laptop itself does everything it is supposed to and it does it well, which is why the high marks.
All in all, excellent purchase.

I had a Samsung laptop before so it's easy for me to use. This has tons of memory n low price. It's nice n small but heavier than other thin laptops. I can take it anywhere and anytime. It's small enough to take to class and study at Barnes n Noble or Starbucks.

This laptop was a pleasant surprise. It is medium priced, quality video, solid speed for an i5 laptop. It can be upgraded to an SSD drive and you can add more RAM. This is where things get a little bit iffy. You can't access the battery, upgrade the RAM or install an SSD drive without voiding the warranty. To upgrade, you must send it to Texas (at least where I live) to have Samsung do the upgrades. I might as well have spent the money for an upgraded version of the laptop in the store. This is basically a very powerful tablet when it comes to upgrades. That being said, I don't need the upgrades at this time, it more than handles my current needs, so it is more a matter of long term concerns, (the warranty is up in a year so I can upgrade it myself then). Overall, I give this a solid 5 rating out of the box but it's difficult warranty and upgrade policy leaves a lot to be desired.

Purchased this in November, have been using it for 2 months. Pros: Love the metal rather than plastic case, light-weight, and especially the touch screen/convertible features - makes traveling with it a dream. I like the overall sleek, uncluttered design and like the 1 TB hard drive and that you can add an additional solid state memory - plan to add that once 1 year warranty is up. Cons: battery life isn't as good as claimed - I typically get 4-5 hours, sometimes less, before I get low battery warning, and that's with primarily Office functions and limited internet use - no streaming. Secondly, speed isn't great, but that's also partially due to the presence of Windows 10 - Home (ugh). Overall, very pleased with this convertible, lives up to (for the most part) what I expected and was looking for.

Reading reviews before purchasing this laptop, helped me make the right choice about getting a laptop for what I want it. Fast, no fan noises so far, only if you push it for gaming, and it does run some games, great HD graphics, light weight for students, and affordable price. Summary... worth the money. Great Samsung product that people should know about.

I've had this laptop for a little over a month and am very happy with its capabilities with image manipulation (Photoshop/Illustrator) and gaming. I obviously can't speak to it's long-term wear, but the Samsung 7 Spin is powerful for its small size, if a bit heavier than its popular (less powerful) counterparts. It's an absolute steal, especially if you can get it on sale.
The lost star is because Samsung heavily advertises the empty user-upgradable SSD slot. However, the case is sealed all the way around by plastic clips with no latch-release mechanism for easy removal. This means that 1) if you attempt to open it yourself you seriously risk voiding the warranty, and 2) even licensed retailers cannot open and upgrade your laptop without voiding the warranty. So, until Samsung makes this feature more buyer-friendly, plan on purchasing and using this laptop as-is.
I'm still very happy with the capabilities of this laptop, and would recommend it to friends and family looking for a powerful work/school laptop or midrange gaming machine.
