Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the Notebook 7 Spin's touchscreen functionality, performance, and ease of use. Many appreciate its lightweight design and long battery life, along with the ample RAM and storage. While some users noted heat generation and webcam quality as areas for improvement, the positive feedback on other features outweighs these concerns. The overall impression is one of a well-performing and user-friendly device.

    Windows 10 is no picnic

Each version of Windows is worse than the last. Windows 10 is all useless bells and whistles. Samsung keyboard is so sensitive the cursor jumps everywhere except where you want it to be.

It's great overall but my only issues is the battery doesn't last and it's already to where it has to stay plugged in all the time otherwise it dies.

You wont be able to play video games that came out after 2009, it's really a shame. I tried playing league of legends and that game is made to work on any computer, it still could hardly get 30 FPS let alone past 10 for rocket league and Fallout new vegas. It looks great physically, but is a complete faux pas.for powerful tech.

Had to return two different laptops

The first of these laptops that I took home I ended up returning because the Touchpad didn't work. I managed to revive the touchpad a couple times by messing around with drivers and doing a Windows refresh, but within a few minutes the Touchpad would die again. Since there were very limited options that fit my needs in the store, I ended up exchanging the first one for another of the same model. That one worked beautifully until I needed to unplug it and the battery ran down. I plugged it in and the battery wouldn't charge. It sat plugged in for over an hour and it still showed 7% battery life. The charger itself had a green light on indicating it was powered on, but there was no change in the battery so the laptop was stuck in power saving mode indefinitely. Needless to say I returned this one for a refund and I will not be looking at Samsung laptops as an option this time around.

    What a zippy little laptop!

I was looking for a new computer since my husband's HP (budget) gaming laptop is on it's last legs. I'm giving him my old computer (HP Envy M7-K111DX), so I was looking for a similarly equipped machine for myself. I've been loyal to HP products for over 20 years. I've tried a couple other brands along the way (Acer, Asus) and always went back to HP. As such, my first thought was to get another HP machine, but I also had a price point in mind. An HP laptop with similar (but updated) specs to mine (dedicated NVIDIA graphics card, full HD screen, 4th gen Intel i7 processor) were just beyond what I was willing to spend. As I was shopping around the web, I saw that my local Best Buy had a deal on an Open-Box Samsung Spin in Excellent Condition. After reading some online reviews, I headed over to the store to take a look at the floor model. The first thing I noticed was how sleek it looked. It being a 2-in-1 is a nice feature, but it wasn't an overriding factor in my list of wants. I need robust equipment under the hood, and the best bang for my buck. I feel like I'm upgrading every 2-3 years. I'm a heavy user - I like a few different browsers open with several tabs simultaneously. I watch videos and movies, both streaming and downloaded content, and I take (and store) lots of pictures. The salesperson at the store said this was built to last the user through 5 years. That helped me make the decision to buy. The Open Box unit was missing a manual (easily obtained online) and had a few scratches on the underside of the case. The computer fired right up and I had no problems with set up. One of the best things I noticed was that there was NO bloatware. That's a fantastic feature. The screen looked great. I have no issues with the resolution or graphics. It's a zippy little machine. I can surf and watch videos with almost no drag. It's very quiet while running - as I'm typing this I'm listening to my HP making all kinds of "running noises" and all it's doing is showing a static web page. I have a while to test drive this computer, but so far so good. I'm much happier with this machine than I was when I first brought my HP Envy home.

I had a need for a new laptop and purchased this Samsung model as I have had no issues with other Samsung products in the past. Thats not the case with this one.... after a few weeks had issues with the computer and it would not boot up. Took it back to the Geek Squad, and they checked settings and after another few weeks, it was doing the same thing. On the next visit to Geek Squad they determined it was a hardware failure and gave me the opportuity to get a different computer.... didn't select a Samsung this time.

Samsubg missed the mark on this one. Although the layout is great the functionality isn't, closing programs when going to tablet. Perhaps next year this will be worth laying down nigh a $1000, but not this year. I returned mine.

    Solid Computer

I researched this computer A LOT before finally getting it. I got it on sale for $700 which is a great price for a computer like this. And so far it's been well worth it. I've used the computer for about a week now and while it isn't perfect it is still meeting my expectations. All in all, I would recommend this computer. And to be clear this model does have a USB-C port. I hope my amateur review will help for others to make a decision on whether or not they want to buy this computer, just like reviews before me helped me to make my decision. Pros: Build quality. It feels nice to the touch and appears to be made pretty well. The touchscreen has been nice so far and has been very responsive and the keys are very nice too. Firm, not flimsy, and they just feel good to type on. Backlit keyboard. It provides keys with a nice even light, has different settings you can set the light on, and lights up the letters slightly. Coming from a computer with no backlit keyboard this is a great feature. Tablet mode. This is something I was unsure about prior to getting this and while it isn't something I could see myself using all the time, it is an unexpected surprise. Sure, it's a big 'tablet' but it's really nice and I haven't noticed any problems with it. It's also much easier to type on the touchscreen keyboard in this mode than I thought it would be. Speed. The computer is really fast. I must admit, the first couple days of using the computer there were some slow, lag issues. But for the most part these issues have pretty much gone away after everything on the computer was 100% updated. It easily handles when I need it for: web browsing w/ multiple tabs, video streaming, Word, music, and minor gaming. Storage and RAM. 1TB HDD is plenty of storage. There is no SSD but there is a slot in which you can add one. I contacted Samsung about this and I was told regardless of who installs the SSD (yourself, Geek Squad, or Samsung themselves) that the warranty would be voided, so just keep that in mind. 12GB RAM is plenty - it allows for fast loading and flawless transition through apps and programs. Graphics. I don't know much about this but the screen looks very nice and crisp. The videos I have watched so far have been of good quality. Volume. For me the volume is great. It gets loud enough for what I use it for and that's all I needed. Cons: Battery. The battery is honestly terrible and it's my biggest gripe so far. It doesn't last very long and that's with 45-60% brightness and no serious apps or programs running. I've left it on the 'charge to 85%' feature to try to preserve battery life in the long run and the battery will maybe last 4 hours. I've charged it to 100% once and it lasted maybe around 5 hours. So for a computer of this caliber it's bad. I've had to recharge the computer several times in the 6-7 days I've been using it. Start Up. The start up is kinda slow, but I halfway expected that due to there only being an HDD. Obviously this would change if a SSD was installed but I don't want to void my warranty so this is something I'll live with. It definitely isn't a deal breaker by any means. Trackpad. The trackpad for the most part isn't bad, but the reason I listed it under cons is because it gets stuck sometimes and it can be annoying. Also sometimes when I'm trying to normally click it'll right click instead which is also annoying. Once again, not a deal breaker and I think this is something I'll get better with the more I use the computer. Indifferent: Windows 10. I wouldn't consider this to be a pro or con. It's pretty easy to use but it takes some getting used to. So far I've had no issues with it. There are some things I like about this way more than Windows 7/8 and there are other things I'm not too fond of. This is personal preference really.

I purchased this because I had a great experience with my last Samsung notebook (6+ years and still working!) But I needed a new computer to handle all of the programs I'm required to use as a teacher. Within 3 days, I spent about 20 hours either on the phone with Geek Squad or with the remote access through Geek Squad because I couldn't maintain a wireless connection. By the time I finished with the last agent (ALL OF WHOM WERE VERY NICE AND HELPFUL!) the computer was boot-looping and I couldn't even sign in because of it. I returned it and went with a different brand.

This laptop is packed with poeerful features and is flexible...literally. the 360 degree hinge allows its use as a tablet, stand, tent or traditional laptop configuration. The expansion possibilities are here...memory and storage can be expanded. The core i7 processor can handle pretty much anything a harccore user would want. The discrete Nvidia graphics are smooth. Touch screen is resoonsive, as is the trackpad. For tne price, you cant go wrong with this laptop.

Laptop is ok, horrible 480p webcam

    Posted .

The WORST webcam. Even in well lit room, picture isn't smooth at all. I contacted Samsung because I thought something may be wrong with the camera. They told me "the camera is not good". Only 480p, which you won't find in the specs on BB. If that is important to you, look for something else. It is important to me, so I'm deciding whether or not to keep this. I could attach a webcam, but this wasn't a cheap computer, no idea why Samsung used a 480p camera. Keyboard seems very sensitive, cursor tends to hop around while typing. Very strange. Not sure if I have something set incorrectly, but it's very annoying. For example, while typing this, the cursor has hopped to another word above and typed in the wrong place several times. I had to return a different laptop to BB, it was defective (according to Geek Squad), and the salesman showed this to me. It seemed to be the best fit based on my needs. It's fairly fast, the screen is very nice, keyboard is back lit and the number pad is great. I like that it has 12 GB RAM. The video card, to me, doesn't seem all that great. I am not a gamer. I guess my advice is to read all of the reviews, and decide what is important to you. It is basically a very nice laptop, my star rating is due to the camera, and keyboard typing issue.
