Great Buy
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought a Chromebook when what I really need was a laptop. I had not brought a laptop in over 5 years. I was astonished at how much technology had advanced. Although I eventually had to return the Chromebook if I had the money I would have kept it. It would have been a nice device for my kids.

YOu get what you pay for.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thin, light, and for the price, it can do basic web browsing and Google's equivalent of Microsoft Office, but not much else. This would be perfect for elementary or high school students who just want a basic machine to do schoolwork. The limited memory will also hinder performance greatly as more tabs are opened in the browser. The low price also means that the hardware inside will be close to impossible to upgrade if you're a regular user. You'll be forced to buy another device once your needs go beyond basic internet browsing, typing up documents, or joining your online video classes.

Good until it wasn’t
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hinge on computer broke and cracked the screen. For a convertible tablet to lap top not very sturdy in the hinge department.

Nice, if it would not turn itself off all the time
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to replace a 3-year old HP Chromebook. My first thought was how fast this new one was, and home much I liked it. But after a few weeks it randomly turned itself off... and now it does that every few hours. At first I thought it was getting hot, but it does the same thing when I'm sitting at the table. It immediately restarts, and restores the web pages - but it's a real pain if you're midway through typing an email. Were it not for that extremely annoying quirk I'd give it five stars...

Very good choice
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading up on Chromebooks for over a month, I bought this Samsung. While I'm still learning the differences between Chrome & Windows, I am enjoying this computer. It's fast, well built, & has many more features than I have been able to either discover or master up to now, so the fun continues.

Nice Chromebook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great keyboard and trackpad; nice screen but a little "washed out"; the Celeron processor handled everything just fine; a bit pricey but nice build quality. Over-all a nice chromebook but I prefer the ease and amoled screen of my tablet.

Excellent Chromebook
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned several chrome books and this is a good one. Has a quality feel for the price as opposed to many chrome books which feel cheap (many of them are inexpensive). I did end up returning it as I found a used Google Pixelbook with i5, 8GB RAM and 256GB HD on Ebay for about the same money.

Bring this Chrome Home!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have been very happy with this Chromebook. For an entry level laptop, this has been perfect for our family. About the only complaint we have is the pop-up keyboard that constantly surprises us on the screen. Other than that, we have enjoyed this product!

Good for kids
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had bought 3 of these for my kids and they work great. The only problem I'm having is getting the virus protection to work as it wants me to sign in without me having one. I'll ask geek squad as soon as I have the time for help. I'll probably end up buying another one for myself.

Perfect for school
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop! It's perfect for school and just browsing the internet. It's not made for gaming, but that is fine with me since it isn't a priority. It does slow down sometimes but it isn't a problem.

Highly disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought two of these for my daughters for Christmas and was planning on buying the updated Pro version when it is relased in 2019. These units have exactly the features and build quality we wanted and fit our planned usage needs perfectly. Unfortunately that is where the "Good" about these units ends. When it comes to the functionality of the Chrome OS and the use of the Google Play store to provide compatible apps the whole experience took a giant "doggy diarrhea struck by the Roomba" turn for the worse. Literally NONE of the Android apps I use on my Samsung phones or tablets, nor any of the anti-Virus/safe kids applications I use to protect my kids from all the stuff kids have no business seeing or experiencing on the old www worked when transitioned to the Chrome OS. I literally spent 5 hours on the phone withe 3 separate, major internet security software providers and none could get their apps to function fully or as designed, despite every one of the 9 applications we tried ALL being available and presented as Chrome OS functional in the Google Play store on these ChromeBooks. The truly telling thing about this entire experience is that not even the Pros could make their own products work on this OS. However, on iOS (accross all Apple products), all Andriod OS 7.2 t0 8.1, and even on Windows 7, 8, & 10 each of the Internet Security suites worked exactly as designed AND most important for my needs sent alerts and notifications accross every OS and platform without issue. We got the same failure results though no matter which device we used that was running the Chrome OS. So, if you want to stick with only Google produced/developed apps for full compatibility then by all means this is some excellent hardware. But if you need additional applications above and beyond those originally installed, and especially if you want a security suite to support anti-virus/phishing/malware, kidsafe browsing/usage, VPN/Secure browsing, etc. Look at hardware running any OS but Chrome because most developers are supporting every OS BUT Chrome, despite the Chrome/Google Play store making it appear otherwise.
