I picked this up during the holiday sale and what a deal!. I can't speak for long term durability yet but I am very happy so far. I made an unboxing video on my YouTube channel too. The form factor is just incredible, good screen, great keyboard with touchpad, premium build quality, pen included and it runs very well. I went with the Core M3 for better performance. Tablet mode works great too since the device is relatively light.
I am so excited with this Chromebook that I am typing this review with it. Took a few pictures with my GoPro and transferred the pictures quickly using the built in micro sd card reader.
I did not want to spend a fortune on this since this is not my primary computer, at the same time the lower end Chrome OS laptops are way too weak in terms of specs. The Samsung Chromebook Plus is a great mid-range 2-in-1 option. This is a winner!

Broke from material defect after 18 months, Samsun

Great little tool while it lasted. After some 16 months, the left hinge broke out and ripped apart the screen. Notebook was not dropped, always handled carefully. Repair is $360, Samsung will not commit to covering the repair. A quick internet search brings up dozens of cases where the exact problem occurred, always the left side of the screen, identically looking pictures. Some got refunds, some apparently do not. Don't buy!

I would give this 5 stars plus if the left hinge hadn't just broke and my screen also was shattered in the corner from the broken hinge. I had it just a over a year, it was never dropped or misused. The Chromebook itself was prefect. Exactly what I wanted in a computer. I'm really debating on getting another 2 in 1, not sure that the plastic hinges can handle this kind of use.

My son was using a chromebook (Acer C720) for school. I wanted to give him a better computer and was thinking about a macbook air as I like and own macs. But given the price, I decided to look again at chromebooks. I wanted to find something better than the usual chromebooks but not as much as a macbook or google pixelbook. This Samsung Plus 2 is exactly what I was looking for.
Positives
* Slightly larger screen size (12.2) compared to the 11.6 found in many of the smaller chromebooks.
* 1920 x 1200 screen is sharp and bright
* Core m3 is responsive and scrolling is smooth.
* Touchscreen nice for scrolling or going to a particular place on a form or online test.
* Keyboard feels good
* Using as a tablet for online reading assignments is nice.
* Pen is handy. Can use the chromebook as a scratchpad instead of doing work on paper.
Negatives
* Bottom is plastic.
Overall, exactly what we were looking for. Lot of great features and good quality without paying a premium price. We were fortunate to have this go on sale for $449 -- thanks Best Buy! -- a price at which this is definitely a great buy.

It's a nice computer for email, web browsing, some light work, but it's a little lacking in other ways. I often find myself conflicted as whether to use my ipad for something or this little chromebook. Both are about as equally capable for the things that I do, but neither is fully what I need.
The screen is gorgeous for its size and the keyboard has a pretty nice feedback on each key. I passed up several other chromebooks because of the quality of this one.
There are plenty of ports, but I really don't use them. There aren't too many type - c external peripherals out there that also work with a chromebook. Maybe...someday.
If your goal is light, portable, nice typing experience, it's a good little computer. If your goal is web browsing, email, etc. that doesn't involve getting into the file system, it's a good little computer. However, before you buy, learn a little about Chrome OS to make sure that it's enough for you.

I bought this Chromebook on Nov 18, 2018 and have used it every day since. I love it. Let me add more emphasis to that: I LOVE IT. Never been happier to part ways with Windows. As a Google user for more than a decade, I was already comfortable with leaving everything in the cloud. It took me mere minutes to get used to ChromeOS. It's a stable operating system and runs FAST. At the same time, all the apps I've been using on my Nexus 6P were easily downloaded on this sweet baby. SCORE!
I've also managed to find online solutions that more than satisfactorily replaced programs previously used on my old Windows laptop. Need Microsoft anything? There's OneDrive!
The machine itself is well-made, solid, and no part of it feels cheap. Switching to and from tablet mode is a piece of cake; it doesn't feel clumsy or awkward. The keys are soft to touch and type quietly (no loud clickety-clack!). The trackpad is responsive. Tip: learning all the trackpad and keyboard shortcuts makes using the Chromebook even more enjoyable! The only thing I miss is the NumPad but I've already gotten used to entering numbers via the top row of keys.
Having the stylus tucked away on the side yet easily retrievable is brilliant. The battery power is pretty darn respectable: for my light use, the Chromebook lasts 2-3 days before it needs to be charged (FWIW, I like letting the battery get drained completely before I plug in the charger).
My husband witnessed the pure joy on my face every day in the last few weeks before asking me a weekend ago: "Would you buy it again?" When I said YES a bit too loudly, he went and got himself one! He's been having a blast with his, too.
BUY THIS; you won't regret it!

Best All-Around Chromebook

The combination of performance, features and value this Chromebook provides make it tough to beat. Excellent build quality, fine keyboard and touchpad, and sweet touchscreen check all the ergonomic boxes. The pop-out stylus is a nice-to-have feature. Performance from the m3/4GB/64GB combination is snappy, and it runs Chrome, Android and Linux. Battery life is also stellar. There are some decent cheaper Chromebooks around, and the lovely Pixelbook at the high end, but the Plus is an all-around all star. Recommended.

I switched from an iPad to a chromebook recently and loving the experience so far. It is lighweight and comfortable to carry in a backpack to work or anywhere you need. The chromebook boots in seconds and it gives you the functionality of a PC. I like that the screen is bigger than 10 inches, but smaller than 13. The looks are very elegant and professional (Samsung has been always good at it).
I give this gadget 4 stars because the android apps tend to crash quite often and it is very annoying. I need some of them (gmail, weather, ebay etc). You could use everything from a chrome browser, but I prefer apps for certain things.
The price for everything this machine does is very reasonable!

My girlfriend wanted something portable for doing digital art. This has exceeded her expectations. Not only can she do her drawing on this, but it's also a good laptop replacement if you aren't suck in the windows ecosystem. Overall a great product. Only thing that would be nice is if it was a detachable like my HP Chromebook X2.

I am a long-time DOS & PC user, but have become very fond of the Android OS - so I decided to take the chromebook plunge into Google OS. It is pretty easy to use, although I miss the access to root files. I chose a Samsung unit because I have always been happy with samsung quality - and this unit seems to be a good example of that. It is lightweight, yet feels sturdy and solid. It is very quick, but that is probably more because of the OS than the unit itself. 64 gig is not a lot of storage space, but it is simple to plug in a low-profile USB stick to increase it. .Overall, I am quite pleased with this purchase.

It took me a couple of returns before getting an unflawed device. My first one had screen touch issues. My second one had trackpad issues. My final one works wonderfully! This thing is faster than any Chromebook I've used on some of my larger Google Sheets and Slides files that I use for work. It just breezes through them without any lag or stutters. The m3 processor seems to be well matched to ChromeOS. The keyboard works well for long typing sessions. The screen looks nice and works well. The sound, while not very loud, sounds good.

Very nice 2 in 1 chromebook with active pen support. Overall good built quality and enough performance for a chromebook. The only thing I wish it could be better is the weight, feeling slightly heavy for a 12'' chromebook. Otherwise it is excellent.
