I'm using the hub for temperature monitoring with a SmartThings door sensor that I also purchased from Best Buy. I mainly use the hub to connect to my Logitech Harmony Elite and hub, instead of IFTTT. It's way less laggy. This thing can control allot of name brand devices. Good buy.

These sensors are probably the easiest to pair and configure with the SmartThings hub since they are made by the company. However I must say the quality control of these sensors is lacking. I have purchased at least 6 of these sensors due to the fact that several have failed within weeks of their implementation. They either fail completely or one of their internal sensors will fail rendering them useless for the intended purpose. Now the good news! An email to SmartThings support stating the aforementioned problems resulted in a free set of two replacement sensors along with a postage paid return label for the defective sensors. I'd say excellent customer service. Hopefully they will improve on the durability of this product which will make it the go to multi sensor in your HA setup.

Sensor is great , except one flaw is the temperature goes beyond 120(like in garage ) , the battery dies very fast and the we won't get any notification on the hub ,that it lost the device or battery dead .

LOVE Samsung hub, plug, and door sensors. It is very easy to set up and syncs with Ring doorbell and ARLO cameras. Love the door sensors as the allow me to monitor the temperature on each of the three floors in my house. That was an unexpected bonus!

This sensor works well most of the time. It seems to randomly lose connection with the hub and must have it's battery removed and put back in to have it reconnect correctly. Better than most out there though.

I bought this for my garage/office and it works great for an alarm. I have not used it for any other smart home purposes. The smartthings hub is in the center of my home and the sensor is outside in the garage and i have not had any problems with connection

I love my smartthings home system. These sensors work really well and aren't so sensitive that id one part is on the trim around the door or window it still shows as "closed" versus throwing a false "open".

The sensor does what it is supposed to do, one hint though, don't feel like you have to mount the switch in the "proper" orientation. You can use the mounting tape to use other setups for doors or windows that might not exactly fit the intended use.

I already have a smart things hub. Added this sensor to monitor back door. Found out my hub was too far away so sensor has difficulty communicating with Hub. Tech support recommended a repeater.

2nd Purchase, both so far spot on with descriptions used with SMARTTHINGS. Only negative is if using screws, dont over tighten, just a little bit of stretch on the plate makes it hard for the sensor to snap into it. Good to know for uneven moulding.

i was surprised that sensor comes with knock announce as my doorbell chimes is wayyy upstair far away from downstair lounge room where im sitting by the bar n watch tv wait for deliveries come a knocking door and i work on my phone awsome !

Works as described. Having temp is a nice plus but would be nice to be able to set the intervals in which it sends temps. When I look at the "recently" data in Smartthings, the open/close data gets mixed in with the temperature data. See screenshot

For a small sensor it does a great job. I'm using it as a garage door sensor. My Smartthings hub turns on/off an entry light and messages my phone each time my garage door opens or closes when sensed with the multipurpose sensor.

This product just works. I bought some off brand ones from another retailer and had issues getting ti to connect to my smartthings hub. Returned them and got these ans and it was as simple as just turning it on. Definitely a great buy.

I now have 3 of these around the house. Mostly on doors where my teenagers could sneak friends into my home. Which is not ok with me. So now I get an alert EVERYTIME one of those doors opens! Perfect. Problem solved!

I love my SmartThings system. This was a replacement sensor (I managed to break mine by presumably mounting incorrectly). Best Buy had the best price on one at the time so made the purchase. Works as it should.

Exactly what I wanted. I have this setup to sense vibration on my front door. When someone knocks and I'm home, it plays a Bell sound on my Sonos speakers. When I am away, it plays several dogs barking.

Bought this thing to detect water leaks near garbage disposal in my kitchen. There was leak one time and the sensor alerted without any issues immediately. Nice gadget for nice price.

This is working okay, not perfect. I get some misreadings every now and then about movement on the door. Its been frigid lately and the battery is reporting 70% in just 2 weeks.

I needed this one for a door at my house. I now have 3 and these work really well. I love the temperature feature. I need more!
