A rugged little drive 1/3 the size of my phone that's hooked up to a usb port on my desktop. IT's functioning as a backup drive for my photos currently. I copied a lot of info in a very short time, and it's hungry for a lot more. It looks good, and has a feel like it's very well protected. I would definitely buy this again.

Over the last year we’ve fazed out the Sandisk ssds because we’ve had too many issues with those. We use a lot of drives as wedding videographers and photographers and have had zero issues with these drives yet.

Fantastic little drive for Time Machine backups. Some people say it's a waste of money to buy an SSD for that purpose, but the noise of my old external HDD and the hang time on my iMac when the HHD was waking/spinning up to do a backup were SO annoying and frustrating. This Samsung SSD completed the first backup of about 2TB in less than an hour! Subsequent incremental backups are speedy and silent, and I don't notice any hang time at all. I followed the advice I read in several comments about buying a high-speed data cable to make sure I got the maximum read/write speeds possible with the drive (I did not test the speed with the original cable, so can't comment on that). So over all, kind of pricey, yes—but on sale and for the sake of my sanity, SO worth it.

Don’t drop this down an elevator shaft or anything like that, but this ssd is actually built pretty sturdy, and it’s meant for field use, and it’s great for local file migrations for the media specialist on the go, or for any technician on a site visit that needs to make larger local data transfers.
