I have several of these now including the 2TB version to store all my clients and personnel stuff that needs backing up. Available password protection is a plus.

Inconsistent Connectivity

I really enjoyed the transfer speed and storage size, but when I saw the 4 TB on sale, I decided to upgrade and use the 2 TB as a back up. This has been the worst external hard drive I have ever used. I have had this SSD for 8 months now... It disconnects randomly during use. Some days, it won't disconnect at all while I am playing PS4 games off of it. Other days, it'll disconnect half a dozen times. It doesn't matter what type of game it is. When I'm playing PS5 games off the console or the NVMe SSD, the T7 will also disconnect, so clearly using it doesn't matter. I can no longer put my console on rest mode because 60% of the time, it will load up with the SSD as being "improperly removed" and will have to be recovered. Changed the cable, nothing. Changed the USB port, also nothing. Switched back to the 2 TB for 2 months and ZERO issues. If you are looking for a PS5 SSD external hard drive, this is NOT the one to get. I've searched for answers and there is nothing clear on the internet. Buyer Beware!
