I upgraded from an HD Blue-ray to a 4K Ultra HD Blue-ray and have noticed the enhanced quality of the video, especially if movie is also 4K Ultra HD. This Samsung is easy to use and has a faster response time in operation. The only drawback I have found are the fast forward and back buttons on the remote. They only respond to moving to next or previous chapter instead of moving forward or back.

Granted this is one of the few "affordable" 4K players on the market, but I opted to purchase it because I have a Samsung 60" 4k TV. My first movie.....Suicide Squad (4k version) and it was beautiful. Love the ease of setup and the price (on sale for $199 and got a $10 gift card). I would definitely purchase again.

Easy to use menu - although I use the TV with the same features . . the 4K videos are Amazing in picture. Worth the upgrade!

The 4k bluray player works exactly as advertised. Quality is fantastic and the jump from 1080p to 4k and HDR is a marvel to behold. Only downside is the tiny sized remote.

I checked reviews before purchasing. I have many Samsung products and have always been pleased so feel confident in my choice to go with this one. It had all features I required and was mid range price at $200.00. It was easy to connect and use. Watched our first BlueRay 4K HD DVD this weekend and was happy with the picture quality on my Samsung TV. In the future I may upgrade to 5 stars.

nice and simple design. Great remote and really plays well. I've purchased several modes movies in Blue ray and compared DVD's of same movie and hard to tell difference. Their claim that the unit upgrades DVD to near 4K/blu ray seems to be founded.

When i bought my ultra hd tv, I felt as I was losing some of my blue ray or dvd value with my current blue ray player. The price of the k8500 made me step back and not purchase it immediately. But I took the plunge and bought it. It was a good call on my part. Each dvd, blue ray, or ultra high dvd are like watchimg it in the theatre. I bought deadpool in ultra high def ; I had liked it when I saw it at the movie theatre. Between my surround sound, 65 inch ultra high def tv, and the k8500, it was like being in the theatre all over again. I tried blue ray, and regular dvd a, all with improved picture clarity.

Got this DVD Player to replace my Samsung 6500 DVD Player with 4k up scaling the picture is amazing and the 8500 was easy to set up in a matter of minutes. Tried two 4K videos Peanuts and Mad Max both look great on my Samsung 8700 UHD television the only thing my TV does not have hdr with the clarity was still great.

I am happy with my purchase. Definitely not perfect, but good enough for the price and being 1st gen 4K player

Replaced my blu ray player with this when we purchased our new 4K TV. Wow! Granted, I haven't compared it side by side with other brands but I can tell you it does an amazing job with blu ray discs and 4K blu ray. Easy to set up too. Best choice to mate with the Samsung HDR big screen. Colors are exquisite.

A good 4K player at a more affordable price. Pleased with the video and audio quality. I've been watching this player for some time, hoping that Sony might enter the market. Bottom line this is a quality player that is easy to use. I recommend

We purchased this player to go with our new 4K TV. The player itself sets up easy and it plays a good picture. Down side is that there are very few instructions on how to add apps to your favorite apps section and the remote buttons are small and close together. It makes it difficult to use some of the controller features, but all n all it is a good entry level 4K player.

I would have given this review a 5 based solely on the DVD player itself but the remote is so poor, I gave the review a 4. The remote is not user friendly. There is no easy way to step backwards or forwards without going back or forward a whole chapter. Very frustrating. I can't quite figure out how to do it properly. The DVD player itself is great and has an excellent picture.

Very good picture quality, excellent configuration options, great web browser and most common apps. Too bad no High Speed HDMI cable included and the remote is really small and thus difficult to manage specially in a low light environment.

This system is great if you want to watch 4k movies it true high definition. This system gives you stunning clarity on all movies no matter if they are 4k blu rays, regular blu rays or DVDs. I love this system. It is easy to use however you need to buy a high speed hdmi cord to get the best quality.

Excellent playback for both 4k and upscaling. Easy setup and un boxing. The remote is small and lacks backlighting

Truly a nice Player , sadly to say...it requires a 4K Ultra HDTV with HDR . Which my 4K Ultra HD TV does not have...Therefore, I was only able to view at a High 4K Ultra HD Quality..even with that...I noticed a difference my 4K upscaling BR player from the Samsung 4K HDR BR Player.

If you have a 4K TV, you have to get a 4K player. There really isn't much programming and the player helps you get more out of your TV! Great player and very easy to use. It also has quick access to settings and some good apps on it!

After reading all the reviews on many different sites, I saw it on sale and took a chance on the player. I am very pleased with how it works. After I manually put it into 4k it works amazingly well. The upscaling to 4k is crazy. I have watched movies that I haven't watched in years and it a new all over again. It probably helps that I have the 55" curved 4k from Samsung.
