The Samsung 4K blue ray player is an amazing device. The picture quality on the 4K Samsung tv 7 and 8 series is great. I have tested the device on DVDs and blue ray disk. I am still waiting for a 4K movie of my choice to come out (i.e. Star Wars). This player also has apps built in that run flawlessly.

I recently upgraded to a Samsung 4K television. I have several 4K streaming options and the picture is always good but not amazing. If you want the best 4K viewing experience the only way is with a 4K Disc played in a 4K player

Great DVD player. Superb image, sleek design, and fully compatible with our new Samsung 4K UHD TV. Remote control is a condensed size and easy to use. It is important to match the resolution of the TV with the resolution of the Blue Ray player, which is the reason we upgraded. Great decision.

I chose it with the help of Anthony Abdelnour from Magnolia when I bought OLED LG TV, he explained in details all the advantage and disadvantages of this blu-ray as it is true 4K. I watched a 4K Movie with my children and really he was right about each word he said I like it very much and really it deserves each dollar I paid.Thank you Anthony and also thanks to Steve Miller and Shaun the mangers, they let me leave the Best Buy in Framingham and drive to Dedham.

Recommended to me by my Audio/Video Guru Chris at The WB store who keeps me on the cutting edge. Now that there is more 4K software coming out it really is amazing picture quality. The 4K DVDs coupled with my new Denon receiver and all around Klipsch sound system makes it a truly immersible experience. I love it.

The first K8500 would not read blu rays; only DVDs. I exchanged it for another and the problem was resolved. Lemons can occur. The K8500 is magnificent. Easy to set up. When linked to a 4K TV; nothing short of outstanding. Enjoy!

This is an oddly shaped, sized and featured component. i have been using this for a little more than a month now and each time, i have to wonder why its so odd. Pros: Good player as far as UHD content and signal to my Epson 5040 projector. So, all is good there. Simple remote and basic functions are all accessible. Cons: 1) The actual dimensions are extremely large for a dvd player. Does not fit into an expected opening where the previous Samsung dvd player was located. 2) The front is also angled up, so you can see the buttons or lights when sitting, if the player is more than 3.5 fee off the floor (mine is in an AV closet). 3) There is no fluorescent display n the front for confirmation of the power, functions, timing, etc, so you have to view these all from the screen. 4) The included apps were not available and would not download from the Samsung site for at least 2 weeks. so, i couldnt use NetFlix, Hulu, or anything else, except the dvds. 5) The device is really slow to respond, some times causing me to hit the same button 3-4 times to get it to respond. So, a good player (inside) but, very oddly designed on the outside. If you can handle the "new" way this thing looks and works, and want the 4k/UHD content player,..get this. Just remember, "its different."

The K8500 is a very nice addition to my home theater system. Installation was a breeze. There are 2 HDMI ports -- the second for audio options. Loading and unloading seems very quick compared to Blu-ray players I've owned in the past. The remote is pretty straight-forward though I don't see how to fast forward/reverse. I have not found a cd, dvd or Blu-ray disc it couldn't play. Upscaling seems to be very nice. I just wish there were more 4k movies available.

So far this player has performed well. It upgrades the dvd to the best of its ability to give you a great picture. Love the new dvd systems, so easy to use. Turns on the tv to the correct setting so everything is easy to access.

Yet again another great product put out by Samsung. Great picture. A little pricey but worth it in my opinion.

Very nice companion piece for your 4K tv, especially if it's HDR capable. Bought this to go with my LG OLED and wow what a picture! Only could give it 4 stars because of the remote. Too small and the directional buttons are too close together. Other than that, a great product for the money.

Picture quality is excellent, very bright brilliant colors. Player does not contain a lot of additional apps like the older DVD players. It has approximately a total of 5 or 6 apps whereas my old DVD player had tons. The more you spend the less you get. Also, remote not very user friendly.

For being the first 4K player on the market, it is already quite mature. Works very well, and the picture quality is stunning. Load times on UHD BR and normal BR are super fast. Only thing missing is a nice front display, which would show you title or elapsed time (I miss it most when playing CDs).

Solid machine. Movies are awe inspiring. Since this is the only 4K player in the market, pricing is too high.

If you have a UHD TV it is the ultimate most necessary need to get this player. It's awesome and brings out colors of movies and you tube to a crisp. When I played with it for the first time, I was just in awe how technology can make a picture look so real and clear and all of the flaws in peoples faces and background speckles were at a notice to the eye. It's something valued to be I'm sure recreated in the future by other markets or generic brands. This one is by far right now the best and the first and the only as of now. I'm sure other manufactures are recreating it with other features which I imagine what else do you need/voice control? Which sometimes to me is a pain in the if the prompt doesn't understand your voice that well. This thing has 3D capability, app add on's, internet, blu tooth compatible, all of the nexflix and Pandora ect, picture storage, video storage, games, and more it's awesome. Well $200 spent on this one. I won't regret it at all. You should get one.

I bought this 4K HDR blu-ray player to go along with my new Sony 4K HDR television. regular 1080 content looks great because both the tv and the player upscales to near 4K quality. Now pop in a 4K HDR disc and it takes you to a whole nother level. No need to go to the movies anymore!

In this day of downloadable media, this is the perfect solution for those of us who have a collection. Loads fast, easy to set up and makes even the old DVDs look better without the digitalization of my old top of the line Sony bluray player... update your HDMI cable for full effect...

When looking for UltraHD (4K) BluRay players, your choices are limited. This Samsung unit is by far the best and most-affordable unit available. It is solid, but has a few hiccups on occasion. The dashboard interface is clean, but may integrate TOO WELL with your Samsung UHD TV. Sometimes it's difficult to tell whether the menus are from the player or the TV. Discs play nicely and the 4K image quality is great. This will be my primary UHD player until the new PS4 Neo and Xbox OneS hit the market. Word of advice - be sure that you have a 4K capable HDMI cable.
