I have to give credit for Samsung to be first out the gate with this 4k bluray player. However, it feels slightly "undercooked". First the unit itself is pretty wide and barely fit into my entertainment center; also I didn't care much for the curve as my TV and the rest of my electronics are flat, lol. The unit made real loud mechanical noise when opening and closing the tray...almost reached for my WD-40 can...that reminded me of the first generation DVD players. All those issues are minor, but what was a deal breaker were the random handshake issues that would cause it to drop video. I have all brand new HDMI high speed cables, Denon X2300W AVR and SONY X940C - all fully compatible equipment, so it should have worked. Went through two units and it was the same with both. So I finally changed it to Philips BDP7501 player - smaller, silent and no handshake issues, just wish it had more streaming apps.

Once upon a time I purchased a Blu-Ray player that was cutting edge technology (first generation) and boy, was I happy. That was once upon a time though. Ten years later I looked up and realized my cutting edge was about as sharp as a pencil eraser. I think maybe I need to spend more of my relaxation time relaxing if it takes me 10 years to even notice how far behind I am. So, I treated my family to a new Ultra 4K 3D TV, and knew that my ancient Blu-Ray friend just would not be able to keep up. So, the purchase of the Samsung - UBD-K8500 4K Ultra HD Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player was first and foremost a necessity to get the most out of my new TV. Samsung is integrating Smart technology into almost everything now though, and this player is certainly no exception. The video output is crisp and processing is fast and efficient even in 3D. One downside is that I thought there would be a Google Play-Store app that would allow the latest version of my favorite streaming media. Unfortunately, no Play Store. That is ok though, because I'm perfectly happy with the device performing as designed.

This piece of technological Blueray player, has great frequencies to enhance pictures even from internet apps such netflix, amazon, vudu etc 4K WILL GIVE YOU ENHANCEMENTS even with Bluray movies

I have used this for several months. It loads the movies faster than previous bluray players that I have owned. The picture quality is great. The down side is the remote control. It is nice that it's small, but the volume buttons are in the wrong place. You have to press a few buttons just to rewind or fast forward.

As far as I am concerned this item gives you the real 4K experience. Yes you must run it through capable TV to see the powerful pictures and sound. I love what it has done so far and I now buy 4K HD discs to enjoy after stopping to buy DVD's years ago.

This player has some great little features for it and I watched a regular dvd yesterday that look amazing thanks to the upscaling feature. The 4K movies look good as they should. Money well spent!

Works flawlessly, as it should, since I just got it.. I like the slimline, sleek look. It doesn't have all the extra lights to look at when I'm not using it. Looking forward to many movie nights!

This player is very easy to set up and the UHD video quality is great! 3d performance is also excellent and while now-a-days most new TVs are Internet connected, the available apps on this player are handy to have. Definitely a great player here!

The player is amazing. Makes blue ray movies cinema like when combined with 4K TV.

So far this has been a great buy, can't see a lot of difference as far as upping the quality of standard and BluRay to UHD quality but this DVD performs well. Had no problems with the small remote, it has been easy to use and has worked flawlessly.

This is a great item. I never experience any problem. The picture and sound quality are great. I am using Bose speakers and Denon receiver. The quality is theater like. I collect Bluray disc and now everything looks awesome.

This is a great 4K blu ray and it is very easy to navigate. Love it.
