The 3d features of this film are great the movie itself not so much

Having grown up with the 1970's disaster movies, I kind of expected one big bang early in the film with a lot of human interest/suffering storyline following till the end. I was very pleasantly disappointed after watching this movie. Yes, there is a big bang early on, followed by a series of little bangs, followed by an even bigger bang than the first with several more little bangs, then reaching a crescendo with a Really Big Bang that you surprisingly don't expect. I applaud the writers of this movie with having sustained an escalating crisis plausibly and still giving us a reason to care about the human element. Don't expect too much on that count however, as there wasn't much time left for character development with all the action. Also, as camera-friendly as our heroes may be here, the leading man still got most of his acting training in the center ring of a wrestling arena. I give this 5 stars for allowing me to suspend my disbelief and for never giving in to boredom, and for some truly fantastic CGI special effects.

If you enjoy apocolyptic movies, this is one that you would find not only satsifying but well structured and linear to the storyline. Most of these movies are all over the place with too many characters and with each character too much background to fill out before the story can proceed. San Andreas keeps it simple with overlapping characters that are critical to the central storyline, with of course wonderfully done cinematic effects to keep the viewer immersed and on the edge of their seat for many parts of the movie. Nevertheless, the cinematic effects don't lose reality as many of these movies will lead the viewer, and the actors did a phenomenal job selling their parts and their characters with the overall experience of this movie!

This is an amazing natural disaster movie for everyone in the family!

Originally watched in Bluray format but the 4K format made the viewing experience so much better.

This was a thrilling disaster movie that kept me on the edge of my seat. Of course it was mindless entertainment, but it was definitely action-packed and well cast. I really enjoyed the Dolby Atoms aspects of the movie. The audio was amazing. It was completely enveloping and gave an immersive 360 degree sound experience. The earthquakes make the whole room rumble. The falling skyscrapers crash all around you. The helicopter propellers can be heard spinning everywhere above you. In a scene where fluid was dripping, it sounded as if it was really right above my head. And one of my favorite scenes was when a woman was trapped in a collapsing building. After the fall, the character's ears started ringing and the way the sound objects were spread out across each speaker really made me feel like the ringing was coming from inside my head. This was a really fun movie!

Great 4K HD picture and another great action film with Dwayne Johnson.

Really enjoyed it; the 3D and dolby atmos is pretty awesome.

Fun, edge of your seat film. Great special effects. The Rock RAWKS!

great movie non stop action tells about a event that actually could happen

Review for the movie: One of the better recent entries in the genre of summer blockbuster/disaster movies. A nicely balanced blend of shocking, "oh my god we're all gonna die" moments, along with some good old grade-school humor, some genuine "aw, cute!" performances, and rounded out with a dash of "no, this is the real deal" goose-pimple horror provided by the incomparable Paul Giamatti. Oh, and it's got the Rock. So, yes, you are all set for a really fun romp on your family movie night. Review for the disc: Better than average 4K rendition. The special effects really grab you...which is kind of the main point for a movie like this. Highly recommended!
