I trust Sandisk. This is my second Extreme 500. Lots of storage, small size, solid state, fast, lower power draw than a hard drive, fast.

I needed something more portable and durable than the My Passport which still has moving parts in it. The price on this is more reasonable now and holds a lot of photos. The durability for me was a huge issue as I am out in the forest a lot of the times and moving around with my laptop. Great value and great item.

First thing to bear in mind is that this is an SSD, which means it isn't going to be as large as a mechanical drive. That said, 500GB is plenty for your average user to back up important files. This drive is fast and reliable.

The Extreme 500 GB 3.0 external backup is the perfect size for travel or just sitting on one's desk. Great product!

I needed more storage with my new laptop so I purchased this extra hard drive. It works great and very compact.

Reasonably good price for the item and it's fast enough to be a boot drive on my fairly new MacBook Pro. I was able to use carbon copy to clone the drive in my failing MacBook Pro and use the external SSD to boot up another MacBook Pro while my primary got repaired. No reinstall of all the software required. Sweet.

This product so far has been great. Getting started was a bit confusing as you have to pull the rubber part off in order to connect it and the product doens't come with instruction, but then I can see why. It's only one feature. However I had to look at a video on-line to see how to connect it, but I'm sure most people would get frustrated simply trying to figure that out without looking it up. Now for the device itself I would say that it's amazing. The speed is fast and the device is lightweight. I would say that it's more on the expensive side of things, but worth every penny. I've read that many others have had issues with the connector coming apart, so I've been careful when connecting and disconnecting the cable from the device. I wish that wasn't a factor as I'm depending on this device and would lose all my data if that was to happen to me, so that's one thing I worry about. Other than that I would say that it's a good device to own as that it's extremely fast.

I bought this SSHD for my Xbox One X which the speed of the internal harddrive in the One X is reported to be 5400rpm, but this SSHD it does make a difference in saving and loading times by 30 - 40%.

Highly recommended to store important data and folders that you have in your home or office. I like it because it is super light and resistant. Good price and good shipping service by Best Buy

This Portable SSD is perfect for my needs. It has a durable outer shell and extremely fast transfer speeds when connected to usb 3.0 ports. Would definitely recommend.

Used this product to store a few things and I can't complain. Data transfer to this device is very fast. And having 500gb is very good if you have lots of files to put away. It's built solid and compact, which makes it easy for me to take this with me if need be.

Looking for a hard drive that is solid state and can hold all my movies. This SSD holds all my movies and is a rugged hard drive.

Smooth Installation. Plugged in the supplied USB cord into my Desktop and moved >1000 files into this SSD with no problems.

I will use for 4K video recording. It is a good SDD drive and it was already discounted. It came with case with was a plus.

You will not find a smaller better external drive on the market today. For the price and size of an ssd it’s the best!!!

USB connector began failing after 2nd use. This unit is small and lightweight, lightning fast! The construction quality is mediocre. Returned for a refund.

Got this to set up a faux fusion drive on a Mac. Have been working flawlessly and had made an old Mac new again.

I had my passports and even though they say they are more rugged I still had one corrupt for no reason. This Sandisk has no moving parts it's just like and enormous SD card so perfect for storing lots of photos and small and easily transported without so many risks of problems. Love this product.
