Did not work for me and it got extremely hot when plugged into the laptop.

I have two of these and both suffer from the same issue, after I fill the drives up if I try to transfer the files to another computer I repeatedly get error messages until the files just disappear. The drive says the space is being used but I can't see the files. This is a known issue that has been well documented online and SanDisk doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. I bought my drives at BBuy but just wanted to warn people.

self ejects after 30min

don't know why but if i just plug it in my m1 macbook air after about 30min the drive ejects itself. i had to buy another usb cable and it never happened again.

These 2Tb SSDHDs have known problems that the manufacturer is aware of and chooses to ignore while providing firmware updates for the 4Tb models. Selling these at a discount given the known problems is irresponsible, at best. Dp not buy this product. Find a similar product yhat actually has manufacturer's support. Zero stars is not an option so ot gets one star.

Before BestBuy offers you something at a discounted price and say that this goes great with this or people also buy this... Check the reviews on the product first. There is sooooooo many problems with this Sandisk Extreme Portable 2TB SSD. My Problem is I opened it up, took everything out of the box and threw the box away thinking that It was going to work... because Sandisk has always been a great brand. So Now, I'm out of $200 because I didn't do my research on something that their website was trying to upsell me on. It's literally a useless piece of crap. I literally paid $200 for a paperweight.

Im very disappointed and sad, because I paid for this item I really need, the thing it’s Best Buy played with me, first I bought a lower price the listed and then the item never arrived to my hands , when I make a reclaim they cancelled the order and made me a full refund, now the item it’s a higher price . It’s a too bad game from them.

I purchased this device 3 months ago and out of nowhere my computer stopped recognizing it. Ive only used it about 5 times to back my pictures up on. Ive used cheaper hard drives and they have worked much better and longer than this one. Do not purchase.

I am extremely disappointed with my portable SSD device ... for one simple reason ... I had previously installed a SSD for Drive :/C and when I tried backing it up onto my Extreme Portable 2TB Drive ... it took me 5 hours at best, whereas when I backed up the same exact data on my external Passport (rotary) drive, that backup took only 4 hours. I spoke with BestBuy and Geek Squad reps and none of them were able to correct my situation ... I am seriously thinking of returning it ... what I thought would be a time saver, turned out to be a drain on my time disproportionately. So disappointing! If anyone can help to fix my problem, I 'm sure you know how to reach me.

I would give this zero if I could. I have tried to reformat this SSD to MAC OS Extended (Journaled) from Big Sur on iMac and from Catalina on MBP several times. I know how to do it. My Samsung T5 reformatted just fine. Every time it switches to APFS case-sensitive. It looks like SSD Has OS Ext when I select dis for time-machine, but when I launch TM it switches back to APFS (case sensitive). Apple tells it should work. About 4 hours today on the iMac (2020) and MBP (2019). SanDisk does not have customer support on Saturday and Sunday. I am returning and buying a Samsung T5 (it's so fast). But I use two external drives for backups. Even th HHD (though slow) work better.

Sometimes its not even decting in my system so it was really hard for me to use the ssd.

This SSD drive wasn't recognized by my iPad Pro so I returned it. I later found out that by installing the security app it locks out use on an iPad. I purchased the Extreme Pro SSD drive, it didn't offer the security app and viola! It worked.
