Defective drive, poor customer service

Drive did not fully accept data transfer. Called SanDisk which is now owned by Western Digital, they sent me a RMA, which I used on 6/29, they received it 7/5, today is 7/21, they still have not send out a replacement. Why did I buy this second external drive and have been without for almost 1 month !

Have a bunch of these and am getting nervous as they are starting to have issues. Also, I wound up buying my own apple branded cables since the ones they come with don't seat well into the drive.

After buying this read news stories about data loss and WD issuing firmware updates. I have used Sandisk for many years before WD brought them. I have always expected quality and performance and durability from Sandisk and WD but this news about sudden data loss and a possible lawsuit make me wonder about the quality of the brand. Its still working it I’m getting a different brand device as a secondary backup.

Averages around 700 MBps write and 800 MBps read on a USB C (USB 3.2 Gen2) interface so reasonably close to the rated maximum speed. Connected to an Apple silicon MacBook Pro. Drive formatted with APFS (encrypted).

I took my computer in to help solve photo problem and I ended up buying external disc. The Geek individual recommended I CLEAN computer and backup files. I believe they forgot to back it up because I do not have my original apple softwares, no email, not able to load photos from other app, lost some documents, etc.
It is a mess, my computer does not function the same as it did and the programs/software they loaded is out of date and it just NOT my original system. Jared Phelps gave me his email to contact him if I had problems and I have emailed him 3 times and he has not responded and this has been over several weeks. I need an appointment to get this resolved. I believe the GEEK SQUAD achanged/ruined my computer systems and DID NOT BACK IT UP.

Crashed on me twice!
I've never had an SSD crash on me. Let alone twice! That's unheard of. These San Disk SSDs are complete garbage. And the Best Buy Total Tech program is completely worthless because Best Buy wouldn't even give me instore credit despite the insane amount of money I spend with them. Never buying San Disk again. Samsung only!
