I have a MacBook Pro 2019 model, 512GB. I was running out of space. So, I picked this up to store my games and other applications, as well as data. Formatted with APFS, which is supposed to be the best file system for solid-state drives. Works great! No problems at all. I started by using it for Time Machine backups. Worked fine there as well. But, changed it as I needed a standard external drive more than another Time Machine backup drive. I tested the USB speed, and it is indeed as advertised with both read and write speeds of about 1 Gbps. So, certainly not as fast as the SSD inside the Macbook, but certainly fast enough for my needs. Highly recommended.

Very small compact and fast at downloading/copying all items

I find this drive to be very reliable so far. Great transfer speed. I chose SanDisk after having several Western Digital drives fail, and losing important files. So far, so good with SanDIsk.

Plug and play, easy to use, much smaller that my old external hard drive, like a large thumbdrive it is very easy to use

Its not the fastest drive out on the market but considering price to performance ratio, it's among the best. If you are looking for higher performancee then you might opt for pro varient which is somewhat expensive but offers twice the data bandwidth. Ensure that your device supports usb version 3.1 gen 2 to reap the actual benefits from these drives.

I love this drive so much I'm buying 1 more. This one is for my desktop as I want to have it for an external backup, maybe it might also be for my surface as well so I can put my windows installs of both machines, I don't know yet. Sandisk is. The one thig I love is you can use it on both USBC and USB type A drive as it ships with an adapter. the thin to put it on your belt is nifty too

This ssd is very fast, light, and well built. Comes with both usb-c and regular usb cables. Works well with both macs & pcs.

Worth buying and recommending to everyone. This keeps my projects backed up and safe. Also keeps my memories safe.

So far this SSD has been OK at best. It’s great that it’s a sleek and small with a decent amount of storage, but I keep having issues with it showing up on my Mac. I plug the SSD into my PC and the drive is recognized just fine, but plugged into my Mac, can’t be recognized. I have to then plug it into my pc and run a diagnostic on it to fix it and then it works on my Mac. A bit annoying, but that’s my only issue with it. That inconvenience is what drove me to mark this as 3 stars. Otherwise the drive works well and is useful in the exact way I need it, to provide extra storage to my 500gb Mac and be lightweight, sleek, and easily stored into my travel gear.

This has been a trust device to carry with me. Holds a bunch and is very fast, I have even edited and rendered video directly from this drive.

SanDisk 2 TB SSD Drive is compact and fast. It was the best choice based on the warranty vs the similar competitor's product.

Portable USB SSD drives are super convenient. Fast copying of data, very light and compact. But, the larger capacity (2tb, 4tb) SanDisk Extreme Pro and Extreme SSDs have garnered a reputation for sudden and complete data loss. The parent corporation has addressed this problem by drastically dropping the price. If you can’t resist the sale, make sure that AT NO TIME you have your files exclusively on this drive alone.

I love this SSD. It stays cool and is rugged. It is lightning fast for transferring files. This is the second one i have purchased because i like them so much.
