I purchased this because I wanted an external HD with a power on switch. I do not need the drive on the entire time or have to disconnect the HD usb cord to turn off this drrive.

Work as good and fast I like speed and it stays cool

I love BestBuy for so many reasons, not the least of which is their wide range of products but even more so the quality of these products and the unconditional support from the BestBuy employees if ever there is a problem.

Drive made a lot of grinding sounds when it started, right out of the box. Had to void the warranty to find out it was burning up, literally--it smelled of burning electronics as soon as I opened the case. No refund or protection on this one, so I'll salvage what I can off the fried drive and throw the rest of it in the trash.

I am sure the product is excellent but the clerk at the store sold us this and it is for a MAC. It says it can be reformatted to be used with other operating systems but when Geek squad arrived and reformatted it, it wouldn't work the way we wanted it to function so we had to return it and purchased an easystore external hard drive.

I use these all the time a work drives for larger projects. Always reliable and works right out of the box with Apple.

I’ve had these in the past while working in the garment industry saving larg CADs for a digital print library. A reliable and strong device.

G-Drive external hard drive works great. I have about 5 total external drives and everyone from SanDisk works great.

This product is a must have when it comes to editing videos and more. Great performance, quality and quiet.

This is a solid piece of equipment with a lot of storage, but I'm disappointed that it tends to "go to sleep" often and takes a long time to "wake up" when needing to access files on the drive.

I spent some time looking into a affordable external HDD. I liked the price of the G-Drive with 6TB and had a few decent reviews. So I went for it. Did a simple backup of my files, no more than 50GB just to try it out. A week later, I go to do a system image backup of 1.8TB and when connecting the HDD, I get no sound of connection etc. windows never picked up the device. I tried my other PC, same thing. Wasn’t detected. No vibration or sound from the HDD at all. Just simply dead. Very sad to see it crash so soon. I returned the G-Drive and replaced it with a WD_Black 8TB HDD for $40 more. Already done a system image back up with it on both PC’s and it’s done great.

Works well to backup work saved on the computer. Haven't had any issues.

A bit noisy. Definitely not an SSD! Would be good for someone that doesn’t mind the sounds of it Uploading or Downloading.
