    I've tried it on 2 computers. Write speeds on a large file are maxing out at around 15 MB/s. Note that with less then 1 gb it seems faster. It's probably using an internal buffer. Yes, I still recommend it. It's large and was cheap. You just have to know what you're getting. It is tacky that the product page only lists the read speed.

    Bought to move multimedia files. Other than having to reformat the drive to hold larger files it has performed as expected. Read speed is sufficient to play high definition MP4 files

    For 256gb USB 3.0 it is not a bad choice for the price. Still seems a little cheap plastic made, but overall speed is good.
