The Sandisk drives that I have owned always provide a SecureAccess vault for the protection of sensitive files. This product is no exception. I purchased it because my last flash drive was misplaced going through airport security. As a researcher, this was, obviously, a problem for me (it was not a Sandisk). Moreover, the USB 3.0 has the requisite speed for any data task. This is a very solid product.
