Over the years, I have bought than fifteen USB drives of varying size and storage capacity. How many of those do I still have in my possession? Maybe four of them -- that is, after I rummage through desk drawers during Spring Cleaning. I lose these darn things all the time. The Sandisk Ultra Fit is tiny, but it "fits" perfectly on my key ring so I never have to worry about losing it (see attached image for context). This review is for the smaller 32GB version, which I use primarily for office documents when I'm in a hurry. Cloud storage is great, but it can be a pain when you need instant access to a file on a different device (like a co-worker's). I've had zero issues with this drive, but then again I'm only transferring files or folders that are 5GB or less. I'm not using this to stream 4K movies to my TV or anything like that. That being said, I'm always curious to see if the actual read/write speeds can match the advertised speeds. I'm happy to report that it definitely does! SanDisk claims that this 32GB version should achieve 130MB/s for reading and 50 MB/s for writing. I ran multiple benchmark tests on the drive and the results were pretty consistent across both Windows and Mac on USB 3.0 ports. On Windows 10, this little drive managed to read 132.78 MB/s and write 60.90 MB/s. So it matches Sandisk's advertised read speeds and even manages to surpass write speeds by over 10 MB/s. Things did get worse when I took it over to the Mac while running Black Magic's 5GB video test. When utilized for media consumption, this drive will play back 1080p (FHD, Blu-Ray quality) video at 60fps just fine, but I wouldn't count on it for anything beyond that. This is far from the most impressive drive in the world, and there are many on the market that are faster. But there are probably even more out there aren't even USB 3.0 compatible, and thus far worse. But for my use case, I certainly wouldn’t consider this Sandisk to offer the "abysmal" performance claimed by the Wirecutter in their most recent review (128GB version). This will do just fine If you need a keychain drive for occasional office use.

This Compact USB drive works well for storing files and transferring data. I bought this drive because of its large file storage size and it’s ultra compact physical size. One thing I was surprised to find out about this drive is that the housing around the USB connection, the part you plug into your computer or other USB port, that would normally be metal on most USB drives is actually thin plastic on this drive. See the pic I uploaded with arrows pointing to the plastic housing. Since I bought this drive to hold my music library and stay in my car stereos USB port, this wasn’t a huge concern to me. The ultra compact size prevents me from bumping Or knocking this drive out of my stereo. However, if you are planning to transport this drive and plug and unplug this drive multiple times you may want to take the plastic housing into consideration. If you’re not real careful with your USB drive, then a metal tipped USB drive may last you longer. Needless to say, I am satisfied with this drive for my use.

I was looking for a compact drive that would not be subject to damage inside the small armrest console of my car. This item was exactly what I needed. Plenty of storage for my favorite road tunes and so small that you do not even know it is plugged in to the usb port. I plan to get a couple more for my other cars.

This is a great little USB storage. Small and does not get in the way at all. The transfer speed is pretty fast as well.

I bought this low profile flash drive to keep in my home stereo for my mp3 music. It's super small and doesn't take up much space. I don't know if I'd want to carry this around, as I'd be afraid of losing it. But for applications where you want to keep it permanently installed, it's perfect.

I love being able to store lots of videos and pictures with fast downloads.

Excellent read and write speeds but the soft shell broke easily under heavy usage. Transported this back and forth in the car daily for music. Lasted a couple months before the case cracked and a piece of it broke off. It still works though. I would buy this again but I'd be more careful with it. Would recommend for speed, ease of use and its discreet size.

Easy to use and very small. My only concern now will be to not lose it since it’s so small.

This Flash Drive works fine. However, unlike older SanDisk UltraFit drives, this is all plastic and does not come with a cap to cover the USB connector. The price was right and it works so whatever. It is USB3.1 and the older one I have is 3.0 in case it matters.

From the insertion of the ScanDisk Ulta Fit the instructions were easy to follow and saving my download document was a breeze.

The drive is rated at 32Gb of storage space but only provides 28.6Gb of storage space.

Pros- Small,fast and... I mean it's a USB drive what more could you ask for. Cons- Small, lol yeah this could be a pro or a con (all in how you look at it and how you're going to be using it.) The storage space is not 32Gig but more like a 31Gig with only 28Gigs usable. For some people this could be a problem and while i don't think it's worth taking a star from the rating. It is something to think about when buying this. Picture of speed test applied.

This is a terrific form factor. I have an Intel NUC on my desktop that uses a USB stick-mounted image to boot Linux and a music server application. The standard-form stick I used initially got in the way of the NUC's ethernet cable a couple of times and I was worried that it might be damaged by that contact. This stick offers all of the functionality of the more traditional one but barely protrudes at all. This is well worth the small premium over more conventional USB sticks. I now leave it inserted full time and don't worry about other cables damaging it.

The 32 GB flash drive is fast is what I love about it. I do have a 3.1 USB port so yes I can take advantage of the high speed this offers. I have read about heat issues with these and I have found mine does get warm. At times pretty warm, but never hot so far that I have used it like others have experienced. Time will tell if that really is a problem or not. I do wish it had some sort of cap to help keep the dust out. I also wish it came with some kind of ring, a tiny strap or something to help keep this from getting lost as it is pretty tiny! Although I do like this a lot, I do wish this was a little bigger as sometimes it is just too small at times.

This is a great little USB 3.1 flash drive. It's tiny, fast and holds a ton of data. I would buy it again if I need another one.

For a USB drive with a 32GB capacity, this is an incredibly tiny piece of technology. I really like its elegant, understated design, but, again, it is REALLY small! I think it's best used in places where it isn't swapped out a lot. For example, I use one as the semi-permanently-installed music stick in one of my cars, and one permanently plugged into my DTV box for recording TV shows. It has been flawless in both applications, and I have no reason to think it won't give years of reliable service.

Looking for something small and compact for work to move files around while our server was being serviced. works great and holds alot of files with the 32gb memory. super small and easy to lose if your not careful and might be hard to take out of the USB drive if you have long nails since you need to feel it with your fingers. uploads and downloads quickly and would buy more if we need them just like this

Great product. This was bought for my car. Wanted a small sized device so it didn’t get ‘whacked’ and break something. The size is perfect for what I needed and the 32gb 3.1 is great. Good speeds and the perfect amount of space for the items I want onto it.
