Purchased 2 of these already. Great upgrade to replace your older hard drives. This Solid state drive increases battery life, decreases heat, and improves overall performance of your computer. Easy to install, works with Mac and Windows, even in external enclosures. Quick boot up times and faster read and writing. Great price for capacity, will be buying more as I need.

I installed this SSD in my aging laptop (5+ yrs) because it started to take 5-10 minutes to get on the Internet from startup. My first thought was to get a new laptop, but I wanted to research other options before I spent about $700-1000. I know there are less expensive laptops, but when I buy one, I try to keep it for as long as possible. I had run a few different programs to clean up my hard drive and registry. I ran disk clean up and I defragged it. I maxed out my RAM and moved big files and videos off the hard drive. Noticeabke improvement, but I still wasn't satisfied. To make matters worse, I started to get "bad sector" messages on most of my reboots. After I cloned the hard drive to the SSD, I replaced the hard drive with the SSD. Don't be scared, anyone can do that. It's almost the same as RAM. You take out a few screws, wiggle out the old drive, wiggle in the new drive, replace the screws, and you're done. I started the computer and was surfing the Web within 90 seconds to 2 minutes. My laptop reboots and loads back up in about 45 seconds. I was amazed and now I'm very pleased. I caught a 480 GB SSD on sale at Best Buy for $109 and now I feel like I have a new computer.
I am very pleased with the capacity, price, and the blazing speed. I tried to make sure that I didn't exaggerate and I did time the reboot and startup times a few times. I hate it when I read reviews and they're not accurate and it makes me feel like I've been lied to. Now my next challenge is to install Windows 10. By the way, it is an excellent product and is very similar to Windows 7. I have been using it on my desktop for about 2 months and I don't have any complaints.

My computer has been slow starting up and needed a little boost to speed things up. My current setup is several years old, I'm running an Intel i3 2120 CPU with 16GB ddr3 and an old GTX460 GPU. I had a decent terabyte WD HDD that ran at 7200 RPM. Cloning that drive over to this solid state drive was pretty easy and the boost in performance was very noticeable. I went from waiting several minutes for my desktop to boot up, to several seconds. Definitely the quickest and easiest way to boost your PCs performance. I wish I had done this earlier!

I needed a boot drive for a new Windows 10 install. I was originally thinking of getting one of the Samsung EVO drives, but Best Buy had a sale on this SanDisk drive so I went with it and I'm very happy with the purchase. Windows 10 boots in seconds. Read and write speeds are very fast, and SanDisk has a nice software utility to keep an eye on its performance. Overall very happy with the drive, highly recommended.

I have a 6-year old Mac that has been getting a little slower and I've contemplated buying a new one. After talking with a few people, it was recommended that I try switching to a SSD. Very skeptical, I decided to try it with the worst case scenario, I'd return the drive. MacBook is SOOOO easy to transfer data from one drive to the other using Time Capsule on-board software. After everything was transferred, my Mac was the same machine, except LIGHTNING FAST. Boot time was less than 10 seconds and there's barely any wait between processes, including starting MS Office programs. I can't even recall a time that I've ever owned a computer or laptop that ran this fast, and to boot, my Mac is 6 years old!!! I can't speak for Windows machines, as they tend to have tons of software that bog it down, but for your money's worth, don't give up your Mac and get one of these SSDs.

Worked right out of the box when it replaced the WD 1 TB drive in the
Dell Inspiron 15 7568, 2-in-1 laptop. The system boots in less than 25 seconds with this drive. I haven't tested increased battery life yet, but I suspect it will be better than the 1TB WD drive. The 1 TB WD HDD is a good product too; I just chose the SSD for speed and tolerance to abuse/handling - it can be shaken, dropped, set down hard and swung through the air, and never skip a beat. I know, I work for Seagate.

My gaming laptop had a regular hard drive which I found to be pretty slow considering the rest of the hardware. I wanted an SSD in a reasonable price range and this was the best option I could get. It was good price and a known brand. Installation was easy, however it did not come with any cables which can be used to connect the hard drive in case you want to clone data. Nor did it come with any software for cloning. I did a fresh install after installing the drive in my machine. The performance boost is amazing. From around a 40-50 sec boot time on Windows 10, now it boots in around 10-11 secs. Love the performance now.

I knew a SSD was going to be one of the first things I get along with upgrading the Ram. And based on previous experience with this SSD I knew it was the one I wanted. At the time Amazon had it for about $143 so I took it to the customer service desk and they price matched it. Came home and installed it. Then I used an Acronis clone DVD I made to do the cloning from the 1tb HDD to the new 480gb SSD. It did it with no issues at all, and even changed the sizes of all 5 of the partitions accordingly.
Some of these new laptops come with a C and D partition. One is the regular C, the D is "Data". Well I prefer it the old way and wanted to combine these into one larger C Drive. This was a bit tricky. Windows can do this as long as the 2 partitions are side by side with no other partition between them. But on this one it had a hidden 499mb recovery partition between C and D. So the built in Windows utility couldnt do the standard "extend volume" using disk management. So I tried to use Easeus Partition Master. Well when I used this it worked to combine C and D, but it wiped out my recovery partition with no warning. I wanted to keep the recovery so I had to try something else. So I did the entire clone process again to get recovery back. And then I tried Aomei Partition Assistant. This worked perfect. It was able to combine C and D into one larger C partition, and kept the recovery partition just in case I need it some day. Just wanted to add this for anyone trying to figure out how to do the same thing.

Chose this SSD to replace the hard drive in a relatively new laptop that was too sluggish. Purchased kit for drive copy, popped it into a <$400 laptop and boom, it whizzes like a computer twice the cost or more. Boots in single digit seconds and responds like an upscale laptop. Excellent way to avoid paying the price of a laptop built with an SSD already installed. Very smart purchase.

I've used SanDisk products in my digital cameras for years and felt comfortable trusting my data to their SSD.
The drive was easy to install and very fast once the data was transferred. It's installed in my main photo editing computer (iMac 27") and is used 6+ hours a day. The drive has performed flawlessly and I'm expecting many years of service from the drive.

I have wanted a SSD for my laptop for a long time. I was waiting for the prices to come down since they were expensive. Best Buy had such a great sale price I just had to pull the trigger and buy it. Wow what a difference an SSD will make. An older laptop instantly becomes so much faster. I can't believe how fast my machine boots up.

Years ago, the biggest upgrade to a computer was the CPU, then the amount of RAM installed - today, upgrading to an SSD is the single biggest boost to performance a computer can get. And this SanDisk does not disappoint. It screams and changed our laptop from a lazy machine, into a modern fast productive device. Good job SanDisk.

Easy to install, easy to copy (I used a 3rd party product to copy the drive). I found a couple of pluses to using this drive vs the original drive in my HP laptop. One significant change is that it now takes about 15 seconds to boot up the laptop, vs about a minute and a half with the original drive. Also, I find that I'm getting about 30 minutes more battery time with the SSD. A reasonably priced improvement for your laptop!

I purchased a Seagate 1TB SSHD from Best Buy in Aug of 2015 for my MacBook Pro. Around Oct 2015 I began experiencing serious problems and eventually had to wipe the SSHD and start over from the initial cloning of the failing factory drive. I do music production and I NEEDED my Mac for a major New Years Eve event at the beginning of this year and my Mac completely crashed 3 hours before the event. So lesson learned always back up and if any drive shows signs of issues prepare for the worst. Needless to say I wiped everything and reloaded my OS and programs and turned the Seagate SSHD into an external drive now! So, to not take any chances, I purchased this San Disk 480 SSD and my Mac has NEVER operated this well since I originally purchased it! It boots up in 5 secs and processes everything lightening fast! I definitely recommend everyone switch to SSD's!!! Great product for the price!!!

This SSD has transformed my Dell 2 in 1 laptop. Performance has improved by two fold over the included HDD. From boot time to running multiple apps, what was a slow and frustrating experience. Now, the PC run fast and dependable!
