It was purchased to replace a failing HDD drive. It is used on a daily basis in the art department of my employer. Two different computers access it as a storage drive five days a week. It has been in hard service for a month now and I have heard no complaints.

Doubled the speed of my ASUS G75VW (2012). Comes with software code to image the hard drive. Doubled the speed of my computer and made startup and shutdown time about 5 seconds. Mitigates Windows 10 Update times. Starcraft II works much faster. All normal operations double in speed from HDD performance. Prevented need to buy replacement laptop.

When it comes to SSD, the main concerns would be the IO performance and the life span. There are a lot of data on the web about the user perceived IO performance for various SSDs. Here is a sample of user perceived IO performance for some popular SSDs. Sandisk Ultra II - Sandisk SSD Plus - Crucial MX-300 - Samsung 850 Evo Sequential read 453 MB/s - 476 MB/s – 463 MB/s - 497 MB/s Sequential Write 248 MB/s - 297 MB/s – 296 MB/s - 389 MB/s Random Read (4K) 28.1 MB/s - 20.4 MB/s – 22.9 MB/s - 38.2 MB/s Random Write (4K) 52 MB/s - 73.3 MB/s – 59.6 MB/s - 78.6 MB/s Life span, or endurance, of an SSD is mainly determined by the underlying technology, such as SLC, MLC, TLC, and 3D NAND technologies. SLC has very high life span and are used by data centers. MLC has roughly 3-4 times of life span than TLC. 3D-NAND’s life span is similar to MLC. Sandisk Ultra II uses TLC. Some Sandisk SSD Plus units use MLC and some use TLC, but Sandisk does not provide the information. Both Samsung 850 Evo and Crucial MX300 use 3D NAND. As far as the life span is concerned, almost all of the SSDs would sustain regular use for at least 5 years, even the TLC. So, if you are not performance sensitive, then Sandisk Ultra II would be a good choice. Here are a few things that you can do to improve the life span of your Sandisk SSD. First, make sure you run the latest OS, which has a better support for SSDs. Second, avoid hibernation because during hibernation, multiple giga bytes of data are saved from memory to disk (depends on your memory size). Third, try not to benchmark your disk to avoid those unnecessary writes.

great hard drive easy to install and setup and very fast

The sale price was excellent. Performance has been a noticeable improvement over the traditional hard drive it replaced. I had to install the sandisk software before windows 10 recognized the drive. Once i did that it was just a matter of cloning the old drive and everything just worked. No windows reactivation or product key or anything required.

Installed this in my three year old laptop. Not a very high end 2-1 that I paid about $350 for. If this didn't improve performance and boot up time I was going to dump this laptop.....very surprised at the performance improvement by switching to an SSD and will be keeping it for a while now. Was so happy I went and upgraded my desktop to an SSD.

Performance is decent for the money but I was having compatibility issues when this was mounted in a NAS. This might work well in a computer but wasn't reliable for my particular application.

Vary fast doubled my load speed Almost instant boot up

I replaced the HDD in my laptop with this speedy little beast, and was stunned by the difference. It unleashed speed on my old laptop the was completely unexpected. Boots in about 9 seconds now, instead of 2 minutes. Saving large files doesn't slow my workflow anymore. I don't ever want to go back to an HDD on a computer ever again.
