I had this installed by the Geek Squad, and it does what its supposed to - hides the wires between the wall-mounted TV and a base cabinet. However, it is very deep - if you have shallow space between the sheetrock and an underlayer, as many older homes do, this item may be too deep to use and you'll be left with a big hole cut in your wall or else you can use it but it protrudes forward. Also, keep in mind that it isn't actually an extension outlet, just a route for running the included extension cord (and non-included HDMI cables) through the wall.

Very happy with this purchase. Wanted to conceal the wires like hdmi cable and tv power cable. This simply made it possible and now I got a cleaner setup for my tv.

This wall mount is great for hiding any of the wires from the hanging TV. The Best Buy geek squad was great and installing this was very successful. I would recommend this to anyone with a wall mount a TV.

This is GREAT for hiding wires with hanging a TV on the wall. I was a little apprehensive about cutting into my wall myself, but I'm usually a little more okay with messing something up for myself, than a client. I ended up doing the larger top part just fine since it comes with a guide that you can trace around to make sure you cut the right size. The bottom part was a little harder as I didn't find a guide, so I used one of the parts to do the trace...I didn't completely mess up my wall, but let's just say the hole is JUST slightly larger than what was needed, but hey, that's why you put tables on walls and cover that with pictures to hide where you messed stuff up, right?

Had this installed by the Geek Squad ... they set it up fine and did it in a timely manner. It is basically going to create an outlet right below your TV and then another outlet behind your mounted TV, so that from the new outlet to your TV there will be no wires. However, in order for that unit to have power, the bottom outlet still needs to have a cord run to the nearest outlet. I didn't do any research on it before buying it (bought it as I bought the mount) so I was not exactly clear on how it was going to look or that it was going to need a power cord hooked up to it. But if you are going to have something under the TV the cord can run behind it

I would definitely get this again. There is an inset that lets the plugs sit into the wall so that there is no bump on the wall as there would be with regular outlets. Make sure you let your installer know that you have the product so they can schedule extra time for the work and give you a bill. I believe it should be about $50 for the install plus the part, which was between 90 and a 100 dollars. And don't forget a power surge protector to protect your TV and equipment.

Works exactly as described. The one thing to note right away to save everyone else from confusion. After I cut out the holes in the wall, I thought the flaps that hold it in place push against the sides of the opening, until I realized they go behind the drywal and as you continue to tighten it basically clamps the wall from the front and behind it. It seems silly looking back, but I was spending so much time trying to do it wrong.

If you're going to wall mount your TV, do it right and hide your wires. There is nothing that annoys me more than seeing someone's wall-mounted TV with wires hanging off of it. This concealment kit is great, although if you're running a lot of thickish cables, you might have a problem with the bottom opening. I managed to get 3 thick HDMI cables and a network cable through mine, but when it came time to run new cables for an 8K upgrade, the only way to get the old cables out was to cut 1 with a cutter. No big loss there, but still somewhat annoying. Bottom line: If you're wall mounting, use something like this or I WILL judge you when you invite me over for tea and crumpets.

I bought this so I could use an LED light that responds to the TV picture and plug it in all behind the tv. Very easy to install. I totally recommend it.
